The correct website for this service is http://sail.multco.us/. That redirects to desktop and…read moremobile versions. It needs Silverlight and may not work on some browsers. This used to not work so well. But now it does for me! Each Oregon County keeps records of land surveys and assessor ownership information. That ownership and taxation data is shared with the Portland Maps website https://www.yelp.com/biz/portlandmaps-portland. I have heard in the old days that to see this information in Multnomah County (and probably many still) you had to drive to Gresham and there were drawers of printed surveys on 3' by 4' pieces of paper. No more! We are in the age of electronica! For Washington and Clackamas Counties, you will need to consult their systems. Survey data is unique. If you own a home or considering purchasing a home, this website needs to be in your #websitesquad! SAIL has a mapshot of every survey since 1850 recorded with Multnomah County. Surveys of land divisions start with big blocks. They are divided and divided resulting in #yourlot. When you look up a survey, you can see the surveyor drawings. IRF is "iron rod found". IPF is "iron pipe found". When a surveyor surveys and marks property lines and corners, they may drive a 1/2-3/4 inch diameter metal marker, in the old days a pipe, today a piece of rebar, to mark it. But over time land moves or the vicissitudes of survey start points may make that iron rod "3.1 inches West and 4.2 inches North" of the actual corner, in surveyor speak. That detail you really, really need to know is what you will find on SAIL drawings, and nowhere else. So you need to know that. Srsly. SAIL has digitized 166 years (as of 2016) surveyor drawings and notes. A surveyor you hire will consult these before surveying and consult them after the survey before filing a new survey. There are many things a surveyor needs to do which you cannot do. But it is easy to see if there are survey points - IRF's - in SAIL before you hire a survey. You may not need a new survey if points are already there and you can find them. You can rent a metal detector for survey rods and dig around with a shovel to find them. The surveyor though is a much deeper source for interpreting SAIL. So if you need a surveyor, I have reviewed mine. https://www.yelp.com/biz/chase-jones-and-associates-portland By law, you are not supposed to remove survey markers. They took a lot of knowledge to place them. And by law, believe it or not, you are not allowed to drive in iron markers at property corners because they might be mistaken for a marker professionally placed by a registered surveyor. That is what SAIL lives for, separating the maturity-placed wheat survey markers from the lesser chaff survey markers. The County Assessor's Office at the corner of Hawthorne and Grand can show you how to use SAIL - they have terminals there. That office also has all the filed deeds and easements. Having those online in SAIL would be a great improvement. SAIL is an online source of surveyors' data which anyone can view for free. If you need it, your really need it! Did I say it was free? Yes it is free!

I've not had a chance to speak of the outdoor amenities until now. And what might be those outdoor parking lot amenities be? Well they are three new-ish Blink machines! OK, she's gone around the bend this time for sure. No, no stick with me! Blink machines are outdoor chargers for all-electric cars (and for hybrids). You have to apply for the card and it works like a credit card at the gas pump. It's a little more complex than that, but the Blink card and a guardian angel saved Ron and I a miserable afternoon after going up to Multnomah Falls and then running out of charge. Our dear guardian angel charged up a Blink machine for us and saved the day. This is a great place to have the Blink machines because this library is located near the freeway entrances. It's just plain a relief for electric car owners to have them there. I'm trying to do my part to get the word out. Thanks so much Multnomah County Library system for going above and beyond the call of duty!

While she was sleeping someone took the screen off of the window, pushed the treadmill over and was halfway into the apartment before he dropped his lighter and she woke up. She got up to see what the noise was and he walked right past her. She said he looked her full in the face. We called the non-emergency number and were told to fill out a report online. We did and were told someone would contact us. (The lighter is still laying where he dropped it. No one has touched it. We included this in the report.) We called to see what was happening with our report, had to leave a message and were told they were reviewing it and we would be contacted in 5 days. 5 days later. Still nothing. No one has come out to talk to us or check out the lighter. It's still there. We don't know if he was just taking the opportunity because the window was open or if he saw our daughter and had bad intentions. Truthfully I don't care what his intentions were. I just want someone to come get this damn lighter and act like they give a rats ass that someone tried to come into our house!

I waited behind a couple of folks, one was mailing two packages and one may have been running an ebay store out of her apartment. 20 minutes later I'm at the machine. package ONE: punch in disclaimers, nothing explosive, etc. it weighed the package. after a minute or so it provided the weight on screen, allowing me to move on to dimensions. it is supposed to automatically read the dimension but it was a slim package so it couldn't read it. so after a few minutes of freeze time, it allowed me to manually punch in the dimensions. then I used the clunky onscreen keyboard to enter recipient name/address, sender name/ address, and 6 minutes later I apparently made it to the end of the process. I hit CONTINUE SHOPPING since I had two packages, a decision I would gravely regret. package TWO: same process, it weighed the item, failed on the auto-dimension feature even though this package was bigger, and i punched in all the info. eventually I Got to the last screen and selected Purchase Postage. it was then I realized that when I previously hit CONTINUE SHOPPING that completely cancelled out my six minutes of hard work I had performed for package ONE. it let me purchase the postage (for package TWO only) and after a few long pauses for drama, it gave me the postage and another long pause for the receipt. package ONE: went back to my first package, starting this whole mess again, disclaimers, etc, but it wouldn't even take the weight of the package this time. backed out. cancelled transaction. started again. scale not working. I decided to call it a day before I became violent. I left with 50% of my packages in the mail and a solemn vow not to ever again try to use any piece of automated electronics that is running on vintage 1990s software.
