His company needs to be reported for fraud. They are running quite a scam. After reading other reviews, it appears that the owner comes for repairs, claims he needs to order the part, and quotes a price that includes labor. I paid him over $315 for a part I never received and an installation that never took place. I have called multiple times and always get the same office person who tells me he is taking care of it and that a check is in the mail, blah, blah, blah. In my opinion, she is just as guilty for knowing what is happening and lying on his behalf. She must be related to him, as she justifies his fraud. perpetuates This man should be arrested for the scam he perpetuates on multiple customers. My Rating is Poor. Nathan was at my home 9-30-24 to fix the motor in my ice maker. He had to order the part. The cost was $274.00. He does not take credit cards so I wrote a check to Gresham Appliance even though he would have preferred to have it made out to him. He didn't have a receipt book. He came a week later to install the motor. Still no receipt. The part didn't work so he came back again and said he would order another. Still no receipt. He came back and said he had not installed the motor correctly and he fixed it. Still no receipt. Since then I've made six phone calls to the office asking for a receipt. I got all kinds of excuses from the woman answering the phone. His father in law was sick, he's been busy, he thought he gave it to me. Each time she apologized and said she would get an itemized receipt mailed to me right away. I just called again and got their recording. I left a message repeating the history and said it's time for me to report your company. I'm reporting to the BBB. I do not recommend this company. My home caught fire 11/22/2023 and I called them to refiund the money for the part that I never recieved. Three calls I made never called me back, never refunded the $200.00 plus I paid for the part. Have used these folks three times. The first two times they fixed a refrigerator and then a dishwasher. The most recent trip however was horrible. They billed 160$ to replace a fuse that the next day blew again because they did not bother to find the root of the problem. Then they wanted to charge more to come out and replace it again because they claimed that it was our fault. They came back replacing the fuse again not looking for the cause of it blowing. It blew again. After being called a liar by the tech we've moved on. Two stars for doing a fair job twice. read more

If I had to guess, I think that this business has been sold in the past couple of years. My earlier experience were with a business that was more concerned with long-term customers, not with a quick buck. Judging by our latest experience, we'll be taking our business elsewhere. Our Amana range has a nasty habit of burning out the ignitor every year or so. In fact, the first time this happened, I bought the replacement ignitor from Gresham Appliance and the repair guy basically talked me out of a service call since it's an easy repair. Since then I've replaced the ignitor a couple more times, a process that takes me, a non-professional repair person, about 15 minutes. Fast forward to last month, and the ignitor once again dies. Only this time, I'm on an extended business trip and can't replace it myself. I have my wife call Gresham Appliance to setup an appointment. She had to stay home from work to meet the repairman, who was late. [Strike One]. He then quoted her $150 to replace the ignitor! [Strike Two] It's a $25 part, it takes 15 minutes to replace (seriously - it takes longer to take the racks out of the oven and the skillets out of the drawer than it does to undo the two wire nuts and thread the new ignitor in place), so even if we mark up the ignitor %100, that means this guy was charging $100 an hour and wouldn't even do us the courtesy of billing in half-hour increments. [Strike Three]. I'm so sorry to see what appeared to be a nice, local, ethical, non-greedy business bite the dust. read more

I had an appointment with these guys to fix my dishwasher. It was a no show. When I called, some very unfriendly speaking person said that she doesn't know what's going on and she will text a repair guy so he could call me. He didn't call and I was sitting and waiting home for hours. In a few hours I called again and received the same answer. Nobody ever called to explain the no-show or to apologize. When I called again in a few days to ask why they just dropped me I was told that she was under impression that it was me who wanted to cancel and she didn't like me personally because I'm pushy. Apparently being pushy is to call her and ask why they stood me up. I believe that this service has a potential if they fire that unfriendly, customer hating person. Until then I'd not recommend this service to anyone unless they like waiting for nothing. read more

Called Gresham Appliance over the weekend after they had closed. They called me at 8 AM Monday morning and had someone at my house by noon. Service rep quickly identified the problem with my dryer and had it fixes within about 15 minutes. He also gave me a recommendation on how I could improve the airflow in my venting system and looked up a Dryer Booster Fan online and gave me all the information. He also fixed a leaky pipe in my stove area that had been a problem for a few years. He checked out my washer that was making strange noises. He told me not to worry about it at this time as it could still run for a few years. All in all I was very pleased! read more

It would seem every interaction I had with this company was not a good experience and frustrating. As a resident of a small apartment complex my landlord had been doing business with Gresham Appliance for some time before I even moved in. The interactions went as follows: 1. appointment was set for 9AM (have to leave for work at 10:30) but after looking at the stove the technician did not have the parts to fix or replace the non-working stove top burner or the oven element. He said he'd get with the landlord and see how he wanted to handle this issue as either fix the insert or modify the counters and replace the insert with a stand-alone stove. No biggy, I understand. 2. the appointment was rescheduled again for 9AM and the decision was made to modify the counter to accommodate a stand-alone stove. However, I find a notice on my door at 8:30AM saying that they had been by at 8:20AM and "sorry to have missed you". I was up, I do not have a problem with my hearing, I did not have music or TV on and I do not have any issues hearing the door if someone knocks even lightly as the apartment is very small. 3. when I called the store immediately saying my appointment wasn't until 9am, send them back to my apartment the male on the other end of the phone said "I can't do that, he's already across town at the next job". When I protested saying how can that be it's only been a few minutes since the note was left (according to the hand written note on the hang tag left on my door knob) and my appointment isn't even for another 30 minutes. I also asked "why didn't I get a call. You have my number!" He had no logical explanation and only responded with we're too busy today, sorry, you'll have to reschedule. I was pissed as I had already waited a week for this appointment. 4. the appointment was rescheduled after the weekend on the next Friday. Once again I'm up, ready and waiting Gresham Appliance. However, this time I do get a call about 10 minutes before the appointment time saying they will have to reschedule because there was an unfortunate incident with the technicians family. I'm not callous, I understand and we once again reschedule. The male on the other end of the phone says "I promise. Your appointment will not be rescheduled again". I reluctantly say thank you. 5. Monday morning I'm waiting and miracles of miracles I have a knock on the door and it's Gresham Appliance. They remove the insert and modify the counters to slide in the stand-alone stove. Yeaaa I finally have a working stove after 3 weeks! Oh wait. What? You've got to be kidding, seriously?! I call the manager of the apartment complex saying yes the burners and oven works but there are 2 knobs missing, the timer does not work and the self-cleaning option does not work either. The property manager says "do you really want to call Gresham Appliance, I don't" No, I did not and chose to deal with 2 missing knobs, and a stove that did not work completely. In my opinion Gresham Appliance is more hassle than it's worth. My landlord said "they are horrible" and he recently fired them. Gresham Appliance has now been replaced and as a resident I couldn't be happier with my landlords decision. read more

I would have to agree with a previous reviewer that this place has been sold in the last few years. I recently had a repair done for a wall oven. I had Jason out who said he couldn't get the parts I needed, but if I found them myself he would come back without another service call and repair it. Go forward 6 months and I finally found the part on ebay. Jason did not come the first day he was scheduled and then did come the second day. He did the repairs and then charged me another service call. When I called the office to discuss this, I was very rudely told by Cindy that Jason stands by this charge and I was mistaken on what he had told me earlier. This cost me $307 labor for a 1 hour job, plus I bought all the parts except for a microwave light bulb. That is ridiculous. I have used them for 20 years on many rental properties I owned and always had a great working relationship with Bob. No more. I will never call them again and my family won't either. Husband and I walked in looking for a frig for garage. Dennis helped us, knowledgeable and friendly. We bought a frig and set up delivery which was free. Delivery time came and went, no frig. Had to call twice about it, was told they are running behind since they were down a delivery driver and they apologized. Frig was delivered that day just later than expected and they hauled away an old dishwasher too, for free. Overall good service. read more

Recently our dishwasher started leaking so I took it up to Gresham Appliance to see if they could diagnose it for me. When I dropped it off I asked how much for a diagnosis only and they told me $20. I asked him to call me when he found the problem so I could determine if, a) it would be worth fixing, b) if I would have him repair it, or c) if I might buy the parts and do it myself. Anyhow, after a weekend of him having it, I get a call on Monday afternoon telling me that my "dishwasher was repaired and I could come and pick it up for $90." I asked the woman why I wasn't called with a diagnosis and to authorize any work, and she puts me on hold to get the owner. As soon as he gets on the phone and I express my concern that he didn't call me first before making repairs, he proceeds to become irate at me telling me that "he has 40 years experience and that the dishwasher was worth fixing." I explain that none of that addresses my concern as to why he didn't just call me so I could make my own decision. He continues to yell at me as if I've done something wrong (which clearly I had by going there in the first place). When I ask what exactly he repaired he states that there was a "crack" and that he "ground it out and put sealant in there." He then tells me to just come and get it for free and that I'm not "ever" to return to his store. So, I go and pick it up and I explain to him that it's not good business practice to tell the customer one thing and do another, and to also perform unauthorized work. After that I take the dishwasher home and hook up to see if his crazy attempt at repair would work, and of course (it was a hack job), on start up, water was leaking everywhere. I ended up going and buying a new dishwasher (from another store) and learned that maybe I need to get a diagnosis estimate in writing first. The repairs on my appliances have been not to my satisfaction. And what's the worst part about this small business is Cindy, the receptionist! I told her I wasn't happy with her way of talking to me over the phone and told her I was going to take my business else where, she just said fine. My thoughts if your a small business in a small town you should have a more compassionate phone reception. Way to loose busy before they even show their services.
