Broke dryer door button
Patrick S.

Funny how the owner can't even reply correctly (misspelled words and all) and doesn't try to resolve the issue if it was "recorded" I never once stated "why should I pay you to do your job" such a lie to try to sway the bad review I never given a 1 star in all my reviews and I stated clearly in my review why I gave a 1 star it was the other add on charges as stated ( 10$ take of top of dryer $5 take lint catcher out of dryer) and then tagged 120$ to install the part which I was fine with if that was the cost to install not the extra $155 to get to the part of installation! And I already know you just went of what she told you instead of listening to the call! All in all I never threatened the lady on the line with curse words but she told me to screw off etc....

After the new parts were installed and he cleaned the whole inside of the dryer

When the hours say 24/7, they mean it! I sent a quote request at 2am expecting a message in the morning when I woke up but he really messaged back within 20 mins! My dryer had been making ridiculous screeching sounds every time it turned on. His responses were extremely prompt! Quickly coordinated a time to stop by the next morning. Tim was very thorough and explained everything he saw. He documented and took plenty of pictures to show the issues and before/after of the work done. Wonderful and friendly guy. Would definitely recommend and now feel assured having a go-to appliance repair contact

They came up to me with this $600 diagnosis surprise if I wasn't going to approve their inflated $2,400 appliances repair quote.

I asked if he wanted to hear the sound. He did not. I left him to it. 35 or so minutes later, he said that he cleaned debris from the pumps, showed me a shard of glass, and when I listened to it running for a few seconds, the sound seemed to be gone. Great. Then he said it would be $245, his minimum labor charge. That sounded rather steep to me. He lowered it to $220 (after pretending to text a boss, which I don't think he has), but that was still more than I felt was fair for the work he did. The next time I ran a load of dishes the sound was there again. I emailed him, attaching a short video of the noise happening, and he wrote that he would come by to check it out. I asked for times that would work for him, and at that point he stopped replying. After that, I asked for a partial refund. Again, no response. I feel a bit ripped off, paying $220 when the problem wasn't even resolved. So, no, I cannot recommend Davyd/PDX Repair. I suggest looking for a more honorable, experienced appliance repair person, as I will the next time I need one.

This was a refreshing start to a pleasant experience. The tech came out at the designated time, and was polite and efficient. They determined the likely issue and gave me an estimate shortly afterwards. It was a fair price and the details for the parts and labor were well detailed. The part took over a week to arrive via special order but the company kept me informed while we were waiting. As soon as the part arrived, we scheduled installation at a time that was convenient for me. On installation day, the tech called in advance to notify me of their anticipated arrival time. In trying to install the new part, it was determined that the issue was actually something related to the circuit board. Thankfully, the tech had a replacement version of the damaged part and installed it on the spot. I was then notified that the circuit board was much more expensive to replace but the tech honored the original estimate without any hesitation. I highly recommend this company for appliance repair service! You won't be dissatisfied given their fair prices, excellent communication and expert service. Thank you Fuse!

5 Stars - Ryan is on Speed Dial for a Reason…read more Ryan at PDX Appliance Repair is a good deal. We have a house full of 13+ year-old appliances that we're determined to keep running as long as possible, and this week put that goal to the test in a big way. Our dishwasher's heater broke, the fan in our refrigerator went out, a massive ice block built up inside the freezer walls and prevented the door from closing all the way, and our convection oven stopped heating after the kids went a little overboard with the microwave controls. Three appliances in one week. I reached out to Ryan during spring break to schedule repairs. He had taken the week off to spend time with his family, but he still called me back personally to make sure we were okay to wait. We scheduled the assessment within a day and completed all the repairs a few days later once the parts arrived, which took less than a week. We paid half up front and the remainder when all three appliances were fixed. We are so grateful. There's something worth saying about the trust factor here. Letting a stranger into your home means showing them the layout, who lives there, and making your family vulnerable in a real way. We trust Ryan completely. We can leave him working in an empty house without a second thought, and he always gets the job done. One more thing worth mentioning: we also purchased a rebuilt washer and dryer from the 90s through Ryan a year or so ago. Our thinking is that older machines can be repaired indefinitely, no planned obsolescence, no need to ever buy new again. They ARE loud, but they handle massive loads of laundry and linens without issue. If you're in the market for a refurbished washer and dryer set, it's worth giving Ryan a call at 503-853-5784.

Our refrigerator/freezer is also one of those New Zealand made appliances -we will never purchase again- that we were hoping wouldn't be as difficult as our oven to repair. We called Ryan again and he remembered us (thanks to that damn oven nightmare), scheduled us in within a few days and had the problem figured out in less than 15 minutes. Only took a week to get the part needed and he came out and fixed it in less than 15 minutes. Excellent response time and customer service. Ryan is a genuinely nice knowledgeable guy and very helpful. He cares about his customers and strives to do the best job he can. Fees are fair and honest too. PDX Appliance is now our go-to repair service (not trying to jinx anything else of course!) Highly recommend.

This same thing happened last year and we used Gary's Appliance Service. Talked Gary who I paid big money to repair it about a year ago and once before that, and he said he could not give a recommendation to replace replace it, but he would like to take the old one off my hands if I did get a new one or he could try and fix it again. This guy was not cheap and I started to smell something fishy... Lots of YouTube videos later I pulled the thing apart (I had nothing to lose) and got out the ohm meter and started testing parts. The heating element was bad and that was what we replaced last year for big money. The OEM part from our repair guy Gary was approximately $110. Pulled it and sure enough it was burnt through. His labor was around another $150 (by the way). Took it to the appliance parts store and they said it was a cheap Chinese made knock off. Looked it up myself and ones similar go for $18 on Amazon. Gary ripped me off and wanted to dispose of the dryer for me. There is a sucker born every minute... $82 for the real OEM part. Cleaned and put the thing back together and it works great. Don't use Gary's Appliance Repair in Tigard...
