We received 4 quotes for the job, and KD Tree Service was the most reasonable financially (by several hundred dollars), but by far the most responsive! While it was going to take a few weeks to have other companies come out and do the work, KD Landscaping completed the job within 5 days of initial contact. We could not be happier with the quality of work, and the job that they did. They were very courteous and professional during the entire process. We have 2 big trees in our backyard and we noticed last summer that they needed some maintenance…read more There were plenty of dead branches and some of them were getting way too close to the house. We called Davey Tree Expert and shortly after George, one of their arborists, stopped by. We discussed what needed to be done and he sent an estimate soon after. We noticed that the leaves turned brown prematurely during the summer. George told us both trees needed fertilizing. He pointed out to us, which branches need attention, needed to be trimmed or cut off. He also pointed out a lot of dead wood that needed to be removed. Fertilization was done in October and they recommend you repeat it each year. The trimming was planned for February or March, they give you 10% off if they can do it during the winter months. The first date got cancelled because the job they were at, took more tome than planned. Yesterday, March 3rd, George called and said they had an opening and can they come over now. Sure. A crew of 4 with 3 big trucks showed up shortly. Our driveway was too narrow for the cherry picker, so 2 guys climbed the trees to do all the work. The 2 others handed them their tools, cleaned up all the falling branches and mulched them immediately. It was a fast operation, an hour and a half at most. They cleaned up the driveway before they left. If you need tree maintenance done, Davey is the company to go to.

He told us we needed to have our trees fertilized. Lack of fertilizer was the reason the leaves were turning prematurely brown each year, not because of the change in season. He also described which branches specifically had to be trimmed or cut off entirely. The Davey team came in October to fertilize our trees. They would return sometime in the winter months to do the trimming. Today, March 3, 2021, a team of four men came with their cherry picker. Unfortunately it seemed too close to the houses on either side of the driveway to get the cherry-picker up our driveway and so instead two men climbed the trees and sawed and cut branches; the other two men picked up the branches and sent them through the machinery to turn them into mulch. The entire job took approximately an hour and 1/2. The men used their blower to clean up the tree "crumbs" in the driveway. It was a very efficient operation, very neat and tidy.

I had work done in my yard by Redefine Landscaping (doing business as KD Landscape) late June 2024…read more Aside from the 40% of shrubs bushes and trees that died that year, they installed a large amount of perimeter vinyl fencing that was not installed properly and had tipped over and 7 panels blew out over the course of 2024 winter and ensuing 2025 winter leaving me to call them to make repairs. Redefine/KD Landscape did come out 4 separate times to attempt to repair but each time proved to be a failure. Fence posts snapped and broke along with panels that blew out. I hired a new company to replace the fence, J.D. Brick who felt the fence was not installed properly and was substandard materials. No reinforcing screws were place along the horizontal struts of the fence and many posts were swaying and loose. I have spent an additional $12K to replace parts of the fence. The total costs of the original fence by KD Landscape was $17K. Please see pictures attached. I could not find the original signed contract but did find a draft contract that we used ultimately for the job.

Today the receptionist told me spray some weed killer on it. If this company used the proper weed fabric to begin with this would NEVER happen and it would never be this bad every year. Exceptional service from Hoppy's!  Mike kept his schedule flexible while we awaited replacement…read moretrees.  Once ready, his crew took down six 30-40 foot pine trees with stumps ground in about two hours. That included careful gathering of ground materials in yard and street clean-up. Landscaping crew arriving the following day were also impressed with such a neat and thorough job compared to what they frequently encounter from other companies. Have used Hoppy's before at family properties and will always call them first in the future.

I've been a loyal customer of Hoppy's for years until my last tree removal. They've always done…read moregreat work and I've never had a complaint. Recently I had them out to remove a maple tree that had been growing into power lines and my driveway. They came right out, looked at the tree and promptly wrote a very reasonable quote. Within a week or so they came and began work. They did a great job except they left all the stump grindings all over the sidewalk, lawn and driveway. Plus a huge mound where the tree had been. What the heck am I supposed to do with that? Luckily I was having the driveway ripped out and that company was very accommodating and helped me remove the debris. Additionally it was brought to my attention and later confirmed that they had no business working near power lines! They are not insured for that! Ask questions and get the facts. For the next project I gave my business elsewhere.
