Took in my Honda Pilot for repairs due to a broken timing belt. They had my truck for nearly 2 months. Then told me it still had a bad missfire and needed new ignition coils. I took the truck anyway and found the 3 coils in back were all missing retainer nuts, 1 was completely disconnected and the other wasn't properly pushed onto the sparkplug. I reconnected everything properly and the engine ran fine afterwards. Except the engine was ticking badly. I found that after reinstalling the heads, the mechanic probably never adjusted the valves and most of them were extremely loose with others having no clearance at all. Two weeks later the cooling system started leaking under the intake manifold. I found that none of the bolts for the intake manifold, thermostat housing, thermostat or crossover tube were tightened. They were all just hand tight. I had to replace all the gaskets that blew out from the mechanic not torqueing bolts properly. I brought all the issues up and was met with "Oh well... That's just the way it is sometimes" This place might be OK for oil changes and wiper blades, but if my experience is any indication of what happens when you need actual work done. Found this place online and through Nextdoor when seeking out a repair place to fix a burnt out taillight. Greg's opens super early, and I think the earlier you can get in (no reservations), the better--as they get busier throughout the day. I checked in around 8:30a and got out around 10ish or so. The service was expedient for the most part and Greg was good with keeping me updated and trying his best to get me in and out. But do be prepared for at least a 1-2 hour service time. Would try again for more intricate services like maintenance. Price seemed reasonable, since I was paying more for the convenience. One thing to note: you can wait in the waiting area (which has a TV) on their couch while they service your vehicle; except it's right by the entrance/exit so the door is constantly opening and closing. I last went in February so it was freezing and raining outside, so the room gets super cold. There's a space heater but it is not really powerful enough to cover the entire room since the door is open so frequently. I suggest getting a ride somewhere else to wait or going home if you live near by and waiting for them to tell you when the car is ready. read more

GET YOUR CAR FIXED HERE I've come to Greg on 3 separate occasions over the last few years. He and his team have been wonderful on all fronts. He is incredibly professional, both in his initial appointment setting over the phone and with every update he calls about along the way. The cost is always reasonable, and he always has a clear explanation of why he needs to do something. I had a fairly straightforward issue recently - a misfiring valve - that Greg fixed quickly. In putting everything back in order he went ahead and put a new gasket in the valve cover and I still paid less than originally quoted. Before that I had a really odd situation that I don't think Greg had ever dealt with before: a sheared positioning dowel on my cam shaft. I was kept informed with every step - from diagnosing the issue to finding a guy with the right equipment to pullout the pin remnant so I didn't have to buy a new cam shaft. Greg is just a nice guy who can fix your car. I don't think there is an issue he can't figure out, but maybe the one angry reviewer here would disagree. Well my Ford truck was not starting on occasion, instrument cluster not working at times as well. I took my truck to a Ford Dealership, they had my truck for 3.5 weeks, they could not find the problem. WHAT? Your the dealership, sorry no can find problem. I could still drive my vehicle, but it was still exhibiting the same issues. So I thought of Greg's automotive, I have used them over the years. Took my Honda Element in because the passenger side window wasn't working. They replaced the complete regulator assembly. I was impressed by their courtesy and that they showed me the removed part and explained the problem. Not all shops are good about showing you the problem using the removed parts. The reviews on Yelp were quite positive, and after talking to him on the phone, I had a good first impression of Greg and was confident that he would know what my truck needed to run well. I need the truck for work and was willing to spend to get it right. I brought in a 1997 F250 Superduty truck that had an ABS light coming on, and the spedometer would sometimes behave erratically when it came on, and the shifting would go haywire as well. I bought the truck to tow a trailer, and drive back and forth to Tahoe often. I asked for a thorough examination because I was willing to repair as needed to begin reliably towing a trailer (which was why I had purchased it). I left the truck there an entire week before hearing anything back. I figured they were being thorough, as I had asked. When I got the call, he told me everything they found in the inspection, and quoted me $1000 to change 2 sensors, the master cylinder, and re-align the truck, adding a steering dampner as well. They also changed a couple of bulbs. This sounded a bit high, but it was worth the peace of mind and I appreciated that the vehicle had been so thoroughly examined over the course of a week. I agreed to the charge, and to let them hold the truck for several more days. When I got dropped off to pick up the truck, Greg was not there (another mechanic informed me he had an emergency). The bill was several hundred dollars more than I had agreed upon. The other mechanic knew nothing about this, but wasn't going to release my vehicle to me until I paid this. It definitely stung to get charged more than what we had agreed upon, with no explanation, especially when it already seemed like a lot of money, but I was stranded there with nothing else to do. I was irritated, but I had no recourse. I was glad that the ABS light was gone, and that the truck was no longer wandering so badly. I figured I was paying for peace of mind. Fast forward several weeks, and once again the truck is having the same issues starting up in the mountains. This time I can't get the truck started at all. I was stranded up in the mountains with no transportation and when I called he basically said it was impossible to say what the issue was without getting a scanner. Because it is an older, heavy truck, it is not OBD-II compliant, so you can't get a cheap scanner to communicate and give codes (I tried). So, I purchased a heavy duty scanner for $350 after losing several days trying to get the truck to start. The scanner/software now shows 5 separate codes: P120, P0472, P0603, P0344, P0340. ABS is a separate system/scanner, so they checked out the ABS, and that was it. I very much doubt all 5 issues began right after receiving my truck back. I was charged heavily for a "safety inspection," so they could change a couple bulbs. This was not why I brought in the truck. It is clear that no thorough examination was done, and now I am stuck in the mountains collecting tools and learning more than I ever wanted to know about being a mechanic.The real issue isn't that Greg isn't a good mechanic, or dishonest. That really isn't the case. I think he genuinely wants to do right by you, he's simply too busy to be thorough. My truck never got the attention it needed. They did a couple of superficial fixes in the 10 days they had it. There were several issues he told me he would look into, but I never heard about it again. I think he's actually a very good mechanic, he's just too busy and/or he's phasing out of the business and having less experienced mechanics do the work for him now. SUMMARY: Kept the vehicle a very long time to do incomplete work, and then had someone else release the vehicle to me at a price higher than what we agreed upon. I paid $1400 so that he could pay someone else to align the truck, put on a steering dampner, and change out 2 sensors. I told him I wanted to make it more powerful, and he said he honestly didn't have the time. I believe him. read more

I brought my toyota pick up here several years ago for a radiator leak. I thought the problem was much worse than they discovered. The problem turned out to be a old worn hose that cracked. I've only been to this shop once but all I can say is that they have the best customer-service out of all Shops. I went in to Repair my AC and they immediately found the problem with it and it only took less then 24 hours to fix. I definitely recommend this place. They are informative, quick and very honest. I brought my car in to get the AC checked as well as for an estimate. I was there at 10:00 AM and Greg, the owner, said he'll call me by noon once the car is diagnosed. So I took off and killed time hanging around the near by mall (very convenient location). He actually ended up calling an hour later with a diagnoses and a fairly reasonable estimate (I compared with three other automotive places with 5 star reviews). The estimate was based on the car part that needed ordering as well as labor. He told me I can bring my bar back the very next day and it would take about three hours to finish the job. I came back, Greg showed me the car part and explained what was wrong with my car, how the new part would fix the problem, where the part was from and how long the part would last until I needed to change it again. So again, I took off to the nearby mall. Within three hours later I got a call that my car was finished and when I came to pick it up, Greg found that the labor ended up being a lot lower than he expected, which saved money for me and it was very honest of him. So far my AC is running perfectly and I am a happy customer! In addition, the day I brought my car in for a diagnoses I also requested that he provide an estimate for the passenger window as it was no longer rolling down. He brought me into his office and showed me how he comes up with an estimate: calls an automotive company, request for an amount for the part that is needed to fix the problem and amount for the labor. He even showed me how they would fix it as there was another car in the shop with a similar issue that they were working on at the time. However, the estimate was very very very expensive. He said he'll diagnose the area for a more accurate estimate. He found that he needed to order a small part to fix the problem plus labor BUT the new estimate ended up being at least 70% less than the original estimate. This means I'm definitely coming back to get that window fixed! read more

I have been using Greg now for about a month for a fleet of commercial trucks and vans here at Steri-Clean. I have been very happy with their service. Greg is very friendly, honest, and knowledgeable. They have done a great job on our trucks, and the pricing has always been very reasonable. I just got a quote from Greg for a complete brake job on one of our commercial trucks and he was cheaper than all of the other quotes I got. Granted I only got about 5 quotes, but considering his quality of service I thought it would be best after getting about 5 quotes to just use Greg.
