Scheduled my appointment, verified insurance, filled out all forms and then was TEXTED the morning OF my appointment to say my insurance is invalid and they can't tell me why. I say cancel my appointment because I will not be paying out of pocket. They cancel. I have gone to Gregor Eye Care for many years now and Dr. Gregor has gone the extra mile, given extra time and taken especially great care of my eyes!! She is careful to check everything and is specially trained in concussion injuries which has been helpful for me. Her staff Lauren, Makayla, Mena, Ben and others are helpful and caring too! It's with great sadness that I write this review. I have been a patient of Dr Gregor's for over 30 years. I followed her from when she was starting out at Ward Parkway Center to her own shop. Dr. Gregor is the kindest and most caring doctor I've ever come across. She really does listen and care about your eye care needs. You come to see her but unfortunately she employs her daughter, Lauren Hembree as front desk "office manager". Lauren is an entitled brat with a sharp tongue and treats her moms business clients rudely. She's put out to answer your questions and just wants to be done with you. Last fall she was out of line and I left in tears. Dr . Gregor came out and actually defended her daughter and said "that's just how she talks". She never called me to apologize for the behavior of her staff. Hoping Lauren had been let go or at least reprimanded, I contacted the office to schedule my annual exam with the doctor I'd always loved. Shockingly, I was told to find care elsewhere. Personally. I've never been treated so poorly in my life. A business owner needs to take accountability for their staff, even if a family member. It's a shame when you are treated like this after 30 years. read more

I was recommended to Gregor Eye Care when my previous optometrist retired. I have been a patient for a few years and have purchased new lenses through them. I stopped in to have a pair of frames adjusted by I was turned away simply because the frames were not purchased there. I will find a new optometrist that offers better customer care. read more

Dr. Gregor is very friendly and takes the time to thoroughly explain any tests, results, or treatment needed. She referred me to a newer specialist on their list that didn't have the best communication skills. I called over and was immediately scheduled with a different specialist who provided great treatment for my condition. Dr. Gregor cares about her patients and works hard to take good care of them. The staff in the office is so nice while also being professional. They all pitched in to help me find the right glasses for my face shape. I have been seeing Dr Gregor since I moved to the area 4 years ago. She was very kind and spent a lot of time explaining things during my appts. I really like her. My insurance, medical portion, changed. I still have VSP, which they take. After one of my medical visits, I find out they are out of network after the front desk person said they are in network! I went back and forth with her and she kept telling me it would be reprocessed. I've been doing medical billing ect. for years so I know they aren't going to reprocess a claim in network. She was so rude and kept telling me I was incorrect! Apparently others have had a problem with her, and to find out it's Dr Gregor's daughter. Well after asking what a self pay cost would be, I never got an answer and was released for the office unbeknownst to me! I kept asking about my appointments still scheduled. Now I'm trying to get my records emailed to me but nothing yet. I asked repeatedly to speak to the Dr but no response. I guess they don't appreciate long term patients, or at least her daughter doesn't know how to treat people with professionalism. She never cracked a smile and acted like she didn't want to be there. After being a patient of her predecessor for about 15 years and having my medical records transferred to this clinic by my retiring optometrist, I assumed the quality of care would be similar. I found the front desk staff to be brusque bordering combative when asking follow up questions. The exam for some reason cost more with vision insurance than one has ever cost without. I have never in my entire life been asked to guess at an eye chart. Until now. I was told that I was over corrected after mentioning headaches wearing my glasses while reading. The contact prescription was so weak that I could not see street signs until I was within 50ft of them. I missed my exit on the freeway going home. I can't even read the license plates of the car immediately in front of me. I called the minute I got home terrified to drive (and out nearly $400 they sold me 6 months worth of the worthless contact lenses). The woman who answered told me that my eyes needed to adjust and made no attempts to communicate the fear to my new doctor. I had to wear these for two weeks. Outrageous. After several hundred dollars - I have no distance vision. I wait two weeks to call and I'm told to make sure I bring the contacts and that they'll exchange the contacts as long as they are unopened and I haven't "written on them"? We'll see. At this point I just want a refund for the contacts and to get a real eye exam so that I can actually see. read more

Dr. Gregor is extremely knowledgeable, and she cares deeply about her patients (she always takes the time to listen to any questions I have, and she has worked extremely diligently to help me reach my eye health and vision goals). Couldn't be more thankful for the wonderful experience! I was scheduled within two days of calling in a request after I was referred to this office. When I arrived, I was greeted with a smile. During my exam,Dr. Leslie Gregor and her staff went above and beyond to help me identity my vision issues as well as provide me with great tips to help with eye strain. Dr. Gregor took her time to do a though exam and made to ask lots of questions so she got an accurate picture of my vision. Kim was also a highlight of my visit when she helped me pick out the perfect frames for both work and everyday wear, she was knowledgeable about what I needed for both and really went above and beyond to give me feedback that was helpful in decision making. My glasses came in earlier than expected and Dr. Gregor took time to ensure that when I picked them up that they were perfect. I am both seeing and sleeping better as a result. The doctor and staff spend adequate time testing and diagnosing however if you have questions after your visit I have found it difficult to get effective and timely follow up consultation unless you make another appointment. Any questions about the diagnosis seem to be viewed as a direct affront to the staff or doctor herself as opposed to simple patient concern or lack of understanding. Dr Gregor would do well to have a little more patience and a little less thin skinned. read more

I have been going to Gregor Eye Care for years and found Dr. Gregor to be very professional and caring. HOwever, in June this year, I purchased a pair of glasses from their eye center. They were very expensive (Over 400 when I finished). In less than a month, two of the rhinestones fell out of the sides. I called them and asked if they could fix them. They said "no problem," they would just order a new frame and call me when they came in. When they came in, they said just bring my glasses in and they would switch them out, but there would be a $20 shipping charge." I was flabbergasted, to say the least. I couldn't believe they would charge me when the frames were defective and it had only been a month!!! I let them know I was highly upset and I would just keep the ones I had. I also said they could cancel my next appointment. They called back in a few minutes and "graciously" said they would waive the fee THIS TIME, but if I had any more problems I would be charged a $20 "Warranty Fee." (Story changed from shipping to warranty fee--interesting.) I asked if that would be the fee each time I had a problem with the glasses. She said yes. No apologies, and quite frankly the young woman was very curt with me. I picked up my glasses today, but I will never go back again if that is the way they do business with a longtime customer. I am giving them two stars only because I like Dr. Gregor. Otherwise it would be zero. read more

Multiple times they sent my contacts to the wrong place and made me go and get them from a mailing facility. The staff is incompetent and downright unhelpful. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Dr. Gregor is RUDE!!! I waited 30 minutes until the assistant took me back and right at that time I got a call from my child's daycare and I excused myself and said I had to answer it and that it was my child's daycare. I was on the phone for less than a minute and Dr. Gregor asked me if I was ready to get my exam (while I was one the phone and clearly something bad had happened to my 18 month child...she fell) and she rudely said she had to "keep things moving". My husband and I have been clients for about 2 years. Up to this point I have been happy with my service. My husband thinks they are a bit pricey, but the staff has always been helpful and friendly. Today my husband realized he was out of contacts, and getting ready to travel and needed a temporary lens for his trip. He had an appt in 2 weeks for an exam and needed to order glasses. I called to ask if we can get a temporary lens to get him through until his appt, and was told it is against policies to give a temporary lens to him since its been over a year since his last exam, because his eyes could have changed and it could be damaging to the eye. It's been a year and 3 months......ok I understand that, I guess. I am normally not one to cause a fuss, but I was extremely disappointed by this. As a contact wearer for 25 years I have been given lenses that don't exactly "fit" and are not my exact prescription, because they've had to order my lenses. Gregor eye care has done this for me as well as all my other eye doctors. I was very disappointed the staff was not willing to be more helpful. Sadly we won't be going back. read more
