A couple of weeks ago, we dropped off a relative at LAX. We came back to our apartment complex and, when I tried to get out of the car, got gripped by unbelievable pain in my right leg and low back. I barely made it to the apartment. The next day (Sunday) I could not walk when I woke up. As the day progressed, the pain was not subsiding. Towards the evening, we decided I needed help and started looking for it. We found Doctor Malakoff on Yelp. My wife did some Googling and read up about him. His profile satisfied us and I called him. He told me he would be at our apartment at 8:30 P.M. He was. I was struck by his pleasant manner, and the clearly experienced demeanour he exhibited. He spoke with me for a bit, asked me about what I was feeling, visually assessing me all the while. He set up a work area at our aparment and helped me lie down on his Chiropractic Table. He then examined me and stated he thought this was a sacroiliac joint sprain. He gave me an adjustment, told me there was one point he could not properly coax back into place and even though I asked him to try again, he refused because it could impinge on my recovery. He let us know he would be checking up on me and there would be adjustments as necessary, maybe a couple more. And a 6 week recovery. That night was extremely bad. I was in a lot of pain. The next morning, however, I felt much better. And Dr. Malakoff stayed in contact, checking on me. A couple of days later, he asked if he could do a second adjustment. Of course, I followed his recommendations and after the second adjustment, I found it unbelievable how much better I felt immediately after the adjustment, though I did not SAY so. Like I said, it was unbelievable. I was not sure it was a permanent thing. Only until the next day did I let the Doctor know. He had been worried! When I had my third adjustment, Doctor Malakoff told me it would likely be the last one I needed. All pain is gone. I am walking and sitting down. I still cannot bend but it has only been 2 weeks out of 6. I am improving rapidly and he is constantly available for consultation. I cannot imagine trusting another professional with any similar issues. Dr. Malakoff is skilled, experienced and serious. I have recommended him and will again. I am proud to call him my Doctor. read more

There are few things more frustrating than pulling out your back, let alone on a Friday or Saturday knowing you have to wait until Monday to even begin searching for a chiropractor with availability. This scenario happened to me on Saturday evening. Out of desperation I searched Yelp to see if any chiropractor in Los Angeles kept their office open Sunday, or better yet (for someone loathe to sit in a car), did house calls. To my surprise such a person does exist - Dr. Greg Malakoff. He returned my text right away to reassure me that he'd see me in the morning. Just knowing help was on the way took my pain down a notch or two. He showed up right on time and did a full evaluation. He then did a few adjustments before whipping out his homemade theragun (a Jig Saw capable of 3000 SPMs fitted with a door stop to pound away at your flesh). A few minutes of minor torture did the trick, and my reflexive muscle spasm began to cool down. I could suddenly stand straight up and walk without significant discomfort. Don't get me wrong, this wasn't a miracle cure, but going from an 8/10 to a 4/10 was the difference between spending the day in bed and being able to play with my kids and help my wife around the house. This kind of relief on such short notice is well worth the flat rate of $250. And for the few reviews I've seen that suggest Dr. Malakoff's time with you is short, this couldn't be further from the truth. He stayed with me for 45 minutes, waiting until he was sure he had done everything he could to provide relief and get me on the right track to recovery. I am very grateful there is a chiropractor out there like Dr. Malakoff - someone who puts the patient's need and convenience first, and someone with expertise and techniques to back up that customer service. read more

My daughter had a pain that persistently got worse by day two, so much that our first stop at urgent care insisted she needed to go to the hospital ER. The ER visit resulted in 3 different pain meds and an antibiotic, but no real answer. If you're in need of a chiropractor and a specialist in both immunology and pediatrics, look no further! If you want just a chiropractor and not someone who will inquire about what a baby is being fed and then judgmentally talk down to a new mom about not breastfeeding, maybe this isn't the right person for you. This chiropractor had more of an opinion on what I feed my baby than both my husband and our pediatrician. On a serious note, there is a pretty price to pay ($290 for about 20 min, to be exact) for needing a chiropractor on a Saturday evening. With that price tag, the specialist should perform what's within their scope of expertise and refrain from passing judgment and making comments about things that they have absolutely no business with. I appreciated the fast response time and this DC's willingness to commute an hour to see my mom who was struggling with back pain today. He was able to help relieve some of her pain as well, which is worth his price tag. However, his comments were really inappropriate and he showed up maskless and didn't care to put one on despite seeing that his patient is wearing one, so we will pass on seeking his services again in the future or referring him to others. read more

-- Dr. Malakoff is a great yelp find! -- I had a "back attack" this morning, and wound up restricted to the floor. Luckily I had my phone on me, and after calling, Dr. Malakoff was able to arrive at my location within a couple hours. He brought all his necessary equipment with him and set up shop right in my living room. I was on a pain level of 7 or 8 and not able to walk. After his chiropractic techniques, I could get up and walk around with a pain level about 1 or 2. First time I've had an adjustment. I was pretty nervous but glad Dr Malakoff was who I used first. He was very friendly and made me feel at ease. He was extremely knowledgeable and gave me lots of extra information of how adjustments benefit the body.
