Dr. Mitchell has many years of training and experience in, and seems to have a special insight of what needs to be done. I know from my over twenty years of his help and sending many neighbors for help hearing good reviews each time. read more

I was suffering from SI pain, Sacroilliac joint pain, that radiated into my right hip and butt muscles. It started years ago and would subside and reemerge regularly. It was so bad in the past coupe of years that periodically I resorted to using trekking sticks to remain mobile. I started wearing an SI "belt" in the past year which helped some but I was still having pain during physical activity. I decided that since my orthopedist couldn't help me and physical therapy provided limited success I'd see a chiropractor. I have seen chiropractors off an on since the '70s so chiropractics wasn't new to me. I searched Yelp and decided I'd start with Dr. Mitchell and if I didn't get results I'd try another chiropractor. Because I'm in my seventies, I have a COMPLEX medical/health history. First thing I liked about Dr. Mitchell is that before he came into the room he took sufficient time to read my health history. Now some of that history is directly linked to my SI joint pain but multiple myeloma cancer, chronic kidney disease, etc. are just other things I deal with. But I wanted my mobility back, free from pain and that's why I was switching to a chiropractor. Dr. Mitchell is trained in numerous chiropractic modalities and uses different ones depending on what my SI joint needs that day. I'm HAPPY to say, I'm attending my senior aerobics classes again three times a week! I'm wearing my SI belt infrequently and after each chiropractic visit I can feel the subtle changes in my posture, balance and alignment. It's subtle and one of the ways I notice it I can feel different muscles engaging to maintain the new alignment. Be aware, he actually works Tuesday and Thursdays, not M,W,F as listed here on Yelp. Go see him. read more

New to the area, looking for a chiropractor for regular adjustments/preventative care. Had my initial visit, Dr Mitchell was great. He's very chatty, which I find amusing. Very thorough & asked lots of questions. First adjustment felt GREAT. Friendly front desk staff. No credit cards! read more

I have seen so many chiropractors over the years but Dr Mitchell is the only one I'm feeling permanent results from. He knows his stuff!!! He takes his time...he explains everything! One visit and I feel two inches taller ..he runs on time and gets right to the point! read more

I first came across Dr. Mitchel about 15 years ago. He got me through some complicated back problems and a torn Achilles tendon issue. Then I moved 30 miles away. Today, 15 years later and again I am dealing with a back problem for a month that other doctors, acupuncturists and chiropractors couldn't fix, so I called Dr. Mitchell and made the 2 hour drive through LA County traffic to see him. Guess what? Dr. Mitchell fixed it. He is the most honest and gifted healer that I have ever had the good fortune to meet. I highly, highly recommend him, his skills and tools are unmatched. I honestly don't know what I would have done if the back problem/pain hadn't been mitigated today. If you are wondering if you should try his services, do it and let him know your history and bring any X-rays or MRI info you might have. He really is absolutely brilliant and even if you have to drive a bit to get to him, take the chance. I am so grateful that I saw him today and that I can move freely without pain and spasms. read more

Wonderful atmosphere and wonderful treatment. I highly recommend! I have seen both Dr. Mitchel and Dr. Blum. They have always helped and made me feel better so I don't have to go back very often. :) read more

I have found one of the best ways to keep my baby boomer body in great shape and alignment is by my monthly maintenance visits to my chiropractor Gary Mitchell; an intuitive healer whose expertise and knowledge has kept my body, mind and spirit in shape for over 7 years. read more

Dr. Mitchell has been my chiropractor for nearly 20 years. *HE IS AMAZING. He is truly a great healer. I highly recommend him.

I have seen Gary several times now on the recommendation of a long time friend and am feeling much, much better after only a few treaments. I have a compressed L5 vertebra which has plagued me for over 15 years and it is a very sensitive area on my back. I see massage therapists weekly for reflexology and back problems, but only a couple I trust to work on my lower back due to nerve compression. Gary Mitchell has gained my confidence as the ONLY person who can navigate my lower spine without sending me through the roof! read more

Dr. Mitchell is a true healer. I experienced a rib injury that made me panic with pain, but after seeing Dr. Mitchell I felt at ease. He is knowledgeable, trustworthy, and kind... within 2 weeks I have seen a huge improvement physically and mentally; he really helped me find a sense of hope! I feel a great sense of gratitude, and I highly recommend him. read more

Dr. Mitchell always greets you with a warm smile! I started to see him for my neck issues starting a couple of months ago. I am very happy with the progress, and I can honestly say I'm getting better for good. I never felt that way with my previous chiropractors. I'm very much taken with his genuine desire for me to heal and come see him less, which is what's happening already. :-) I don't even think about my neck issues anymore, and I can sleep well at night, yay! read more

Dr Mitchell is amazing. Very knowledgeable and kind person. I would recommend him to any of my family and friends that have been dealing w chronic pain. I went in with extreme lower back pain, feared I'd never walk the same at all actually. Just about a month after treatment and Id say I'm almost back to 100%. read more

Dr. Gary Mitchell has been my chiropractor for 28 years. He is a deeply caring and highly committed healer with tremendous experience. Not only has he been practicing for decades but I found out that he also comes from a family of chiropractors: his mother and grandfather were also chiropractors. (How neat is that? :- ) Dr. Mitchell has been there for me after each accident and I'm eternally grateful for his expertise, positive and caring attitude, and encouragement during difficult times. read more

I've been to many other doctors for my back pain that has been bothering me since I was young and it would take months of going to other doctors to make me feel better and just after 2 visit from here I feel better thank you, from Walter Ruckwardt read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Mitchell's since 1983; that SHOULD say it all! He has helped me to "keep moving" and "stay active" for all of these years. I am an athlete, and now a dancer. I was a caterer for 15 years and lifted heavy things for a living. After I broke my femur and ended up with a metal hip, he helped me through that as well. I was skiing again in 8 months. He is an excellent Chiropractor, and also works with Kinesiology, also known as human kinetics; the scientific study of human movement. Kinesiology addresses physiological, mechanical, and psychological effects on the body. You can trust this man. www.santamonicachiropractor.com read more

Great doctor and very good person! Feeling like i am flying after the therapy! Highly recommended!!

I saw Dr. Mitchell following a bike crash where I hit my head. I had persistent headaches and could not do anything but sit on the couch. I saw Dr. Mitchell and after a few treatments I felt better than before the accident. He is a lovely person and a very thorough physician. I highly recommend him. read more

If you are looking for a chiropractor - I cannot recommend Gary Mitchell more highly. I have been seeing Gary for several years and he has been a tremendous asset to me. In an appointment with Gary, you really feel well cared for as he is never rushed and you always feel like you have his full attention. Unlike some chiropractors that I have seen in the past that just quickly adjust you and move on to the next patient, Gary really takes his time and really throughally adjusts and checks everything before completing the treatment. I feel very fortunate to have Gary as my chiropractor. read more

Having just visited Gary Mitchell, D.C. again (after not needing chiropractic care for a while) and also having recently learned about Yelp, I feel compelled to write a few words about him. Over the years I've had opportunity to use a number of Chiropractors, but none quite like him. His greatest virtue is his miraculous analytical inclination and skill. He will ask insightful and often surprising questions. Then he will perform all these little tests, asking you to resist him as he pulls this and pushes that; will find areas of no muscle strength at all and then may perform some action or adjustment you might not even feel at some seemingly totally unrelated place and--Voilá--your strength is instantly back and your discomfort is on the way out the window! Apart from that, if that were not enough, he is very strong AND very gentle, very smart and as genuinely charming and caring as anyone can be. His office staff is delightful, too. It is such a treat to go there that I could see where someone might want to even when they feel fine. I rarely leave a treatment without laughing out load at the peculiarity of it all, and the fact I could feel so much better in a matter of minutes. I am amazed whenever I hear about antagonistic relations between D.C,'s and M.D.'s (though certainly not from him--he'd be the first to tell you if you needed to see an M.D.) when chiropractic results are so incontrovertible. Someday this will change, and there will chiropractic programs at any hospital. Still, you'd be very lucky to find one this good. Jeff Richards read more

Gary Mitchell is simply the best chiropractor I have gone to. He not only has vast knowledge in his field (his mother was also a chiropractor), he is amazingly intuitive about exactly what parts of your body needs healing and has a number of techniques at his disposal to relieve pain and tension. He takes his time to make sure that your issues are addressed. I've known him over 25 years, and I don't think you can find a finer person or health practitioner in his field. read more

Dr. Mitchell is a fantastic chiropractor. I've seen many chiropractors over the years and no one has been able to adjust me like he does. I went in yesterday with a very annoying and fairly debilitating left shoulder pain. I had it for almost 3 weeks, and with one adjustment he fixed it. He has a rare gift and is patient and thorough. Whenever I'm in southern Cali for business I make an effort to come see him. He's got my absolute highest recommendation. read more

Dr. Mitchell is a wonder. He solved my chronic back/hip problem in two sessions. He's knowledgeable, kind and thorough. Been seeing Dr. Mitchell for over a year now and he continues to impress. Once you start going to him you will never need to look for another chiropractor. When I throw my back out, I rest assured that I'll feel better immediately after seeing Dr. Mitchell. Each and every time I visit this office, it is a pleasure from the start-- dealing with Joan at the front desk to being seen and never waiting more than 5 or 10 minutes, then walking out feeling better than you walked in. If you're searching for a chiropractor you can count on, or even just a one-stop while you're in town, Dr. Mitchell is your guy. read more

Awesome, caring, & thorough. You never feel rushed. Very hands on. Will come back

I had been looking for a good chiropractor for several years now, since my regular chiropractor passed away. A rear-end accident that caused me whiplash and cranial injuries led me to Dr. Mitchell, and I have struck gold. Dr. Mitchell has a caring bedside manner and is a true natural healer. He is more well-versed in his practice than many chiropractors I have come across. You will not be disappointed in your treatment with him. read more

Gary Mitchell is the best chiropractor I have EVER visited. He is very skilled and knowledgeable. The first time I went to see him I was scared and he was SO patient and kind with me. I was in so much pain I could barely walk and after a few treatments Gary had me back to normal! His office staff is also very kind and flexible, Joan will help with everything from appointment times to parking places, and she always brightens your day. I look forward to my visits in this office, because I always leave feeling better and more relaxed. Gary and his staff truly appreciate each patient, and do everything they can to make you feel better. read more

Dr. Gary Mitchell is one of the best chiropractors I have ever been to! I was new to the area and had called around to several chiropractic offices and they were the first to get back to me and the friendliest! Their office is warm and welcoming and I had immediately felt at ease. I had a problem with my sciatic nerve and after a few treatments I was already feeling like a new person! Dr. Gary Mitchell and Joan (the manager) are very compassionate and very helpful. I was also appreciative of the fact that Dr. Mitchell took the time to show me diagrams and photos of the problems relating to my back and sciatic nerve to help me fully understand what was going on with the pain on the right side of my body. All in all, I recommend Dr.Gary Mitchell to everyone who is looking for a chiropractor!! read more

Dr. Gary Mitchell came to my rescue, after having a bad fall. I had tripped over a low, cement barrier/parking stop located in my parking spot. Landed sideways, full-force onto cement, hurting elbow, knee and opposite wrist. I didn't think anything was broken, but was in a panic concerning the damage to my body. (My regular Chiropractor recovering from emergency surgery.) Yesterday, after 12 days of concern, fear, avoiding Emergency $$$$ etc., I went into neighborhood chiropractic office for info, As I stood there crying in waiting room, Dr. Mitchell came out and checked on me. Scheduled my first appointment with him same day. . I am so relieved to have found a compassionate and experienced Chiropractor. Dr.Mitchell addressed all of my issues, elbow, shoulder, knee and opposite wrist. (He is The Body Whisperer!) I feel so much better after just one treatment session. He explained that recovery would be slow due to the damage and gave me exercises to help my elbow. My next appointment is Friday. I recommend Dr. Gary Mitchell. His Care is personal and compassionate. I'm not crying anymore and I'm confident that I am in good hands. p.s. when doing my research, I was intimidated by Dr. Mitchell's "suit and tie" photo. Please note, it was taken in the 1980's. Today in 2014, he is relaxed and casual and has now been a Chiropractor for 34 years. read more
