If I could give more stars I would! I needed to see a Chiropractor right away because I had a pinched nerve that came out of nowhere. It was very painful to move my head. I called the next day and I found Dr. Karr on Yelp. I was pleasantly surprised when I spoke to Betty and I explained my situation and She said She could get me seen in an hour. Parking was easy and the office is located in such a beautiful location. I felt at ease as soon as I arrived. Dr Karr and Betty were so caring, knowledgable, trustworthy and professional. The office is very clean, up to date, organized, and had such a nice ambiance with really good music. I was seen right away and I received a thorough consultation, X-rays, therapy and adjustments that day. Dr Karr listened to my needs. I was a little nervous because I had a a lot of pain. After the treatment I felt much better than I had before and I was even able to go to work later that day. I found out the next day unfortunately my insurance would not be able to cover my sessions. I went back to go over my X-rays and let them know I would have to find another Dr. In my network. Dr Karr was understanding and so kindly went over my X-rays which had the pinched nerve findings and a couple other issues related to my neck, He gave me suggestions for when I go to another Chiropractor in my network. I thought about what we had discussed and I really did not want to go to another Chiropractor, because I felt so comfortable and I was feeling so much better. We went over pricing, and He let me know the cost if I were to pay out of pocket and it was so reasonable. I decided to go to Dr. Karr for therapy and I couldn't be happier about the treatment. It has been about over 3 weeks now and I have no more neck pain. I still have more sessions included in my package. It was the best decision to continue with Dr. Karr and Betty. Dr. Ortiz, Dr. Karr and Betty are awesome! In the last year I've seen a lot of really good chiropractors but none who were able to release the pain in my neck. For above a year, I've had a knot in my neck that was excruciating and could not be adjusted until I was in Karr and Ortiz hands. Dr. Karr saved me from having to get needless back surgery and I'm so thankful. I had a bulging disc in the L5 /S1 area and was in so much pain, developed Sciatica and didn't want to do any physical activity. Initially, I went to an Orthopedic Surgeon to see what was wrong. After the MRI I was told the best option was surgery. That's the last thing I wanted. So I went to Dr. Karr for a second opinion since he had treated me and my back so well after a car accident I'd had. He suggested I try the Spinal Decompression Machine in his office. To avoid the surgery, I'd try anything. The machine is very comfortable, you get to watch a movie so the time flies. I think it was a half an hour and there was no discomfort at all. I did that twice and the spine released the disc so it wasn't painful anymore. Thank you Dr. Karr for saving me from an expensive surgery with a long recovery! read more

Dr. Karr is an amazing chiropractor who really listens and explains everything step by step. Getting alignments used to be one of the scariest things for me, now I look forward to it because I know with Dr. Karr I will have amazing results! I started going to Dr Karr for spinal decompression about a month and a half ago. I was having shooting pain down my leg and tingling in my foot. I couldn't stand for more than 5 min and had to sit slowly as the pain radiated. Now I have no pain, still a bit of tingling occasionally but overall great improvement. I'd gone in for epidurals through my orthopedic surgeon which helps but even the orthopedist tells you "this is a bandaid" not a solution. Spinal decompression is working to solve the problem. Dr Karr really cares about your overall health and is good at reminding you to take of you! His encouragement and care is beyond most chiropractors I've gone to and it's an overall wonderful office! 3 weeks ago I woke up with terrible back pain and I searched the nearest chiropractor close to my house. I went there around 8:30am and I did the paper work and around 10am Dr.Ortiz took me to the room and started to work with me. I took x ray and he put heat on my back and relaxed my muscle. Then Dr. Karr came and adjusted my back. I immediately felt a lot better. 30% of the pain was gome. I paid for month long treatment plan and currently I am on my 3rd week. On my first visit, I was at the practice for an hour and half, even though my treatment only took 5 minutes and X-rays 10. The rest of the time I was waiting while other patients were seen. At the end of my appointment, Dr Karr told the receptionist to book another appointment for the next day. I thought this was strange as I hadn't been given any kind of diagnosis or treatment plan. When I returned a couple of weeks later, I met with Dr Karr, who told me I would need 3 treatments a week for 2 months, with ongoing treatment for the rest of my life. He then tried to sell me a monthly package at a cost of nearly $600 a month. I was extremely stressed to learn that my injury was this serious and decided to get a second opinion. The second opinion was that I needed four treatments of physiotherapy. I requested my notes from Dr Karr's office and, when I eventually received them, they said that on my last appointment I had had adjustments, plus 20 minutes of cold packs and 30 minutes of physiotherapy. I spoke to Dr Karr by telephone to query this, whereupon he replied that if I said I didn't receive the cold packs or physiotherapy, he would believe me. This was not the reply I was expecting. I informed him that my appointment was at 12.30 and, as his office closes at 1 pm, it wasn't possible for me to have had 50 minutes of physio, plus the time he spent adjusting me (5 minutes). He said he would check on the computer to see what time my appointment was. After a few seconds, he said he was unable to check as the computer was being used. I proceeded to tell him that I'd had a second opinion, and it seems his treatment plan was excessive, to which he replied that this was because I was experiencing tingling. I told him that I had never experience tingling. He went quiet. I didn't book any more appointments. Apart from the cost and time Dr Karr's treatment would have taken, I'm wondering what effect all that excessive clicking would have had, and also how many people are paying for treatment they don't need. I'm disgusted. UPDATE 2/14/2016 I had an appointment with Joel Scherr on 3rd Street, who diagnosed my problem and relieved most of my pain in just one session. It seems he is the only physiotherapist in LA who knows what he is doing and is not ruled by how many appointments he can get out of patients. After a pretty brutal car accident, I've been seeing Dr. Karr regularly. When I started, I was in so much pain I could hardly sleep. Dr. Karr has been my local Chiropractor for over 3 years - I rarely need to see him , but it always works. I seemed to get more attention and better care here that when I go see any other type of doctor ( Ear,nose and throat, or my dentist for sure) - The staff is friendly and the office is nice but the best part I like is the Dr. Karr addresses what's hurting me directly and gets the results I need. Dr Karr is amazing!!! I've been going to him for 15 years whenever I have back pain and it is usually feeling better in 1 or 2 visits. Recently I have gone to see him due to severe pain in my lower back, hips and neck. I couldn't bend over or get up when seated on the floor, or roll over in bed or turn my head to the right with out feeling extreme tightness and pain. I was in pain for 3 months before I went to see him and no amount of stretching or yoga would improve my condition. I had given up and decided It was old age setting in. I went to see if Dr Karr could help. He took X-rays and we saw that my spine was bent in 2 places. At the base of my neck and above my tail bone and some of my discs were too close together. Every day I saw Dr Karr I felt a little less pain and regained more movement. Even my hips felt better! (I had thought after childbirth that hip pain was normal.) This time it took a month of seeing him 3 times a week because I was in a really bad state. But I feel so much better now and am happy that I can move again without any pain!!! read more

I went to Dr. Karr almost 4 years ago when I had horrible Sciatica. Dr. Karr was extremely thorough and let me know what the problem was, after my FIRST visit I felt 10 times better and was able to walk without pain. I recently hurt my back and knew that the first person I needed to see was Dr. Karr! I could barely walk I was in so much pain. After my FIRST VISIT- I again, felt 10 times better! I now have ZERO pain after about 6 visits...Dr. Ortiz also is amazing and he helped me realize that my sinus headache issues were the cause of TMJ- I'm not kidding, after popping my jaw into place- I have not had my sinus headaches!!! I get an adjustment on my jaw almost every time I go in and have been headache free ever since!
