After my first session I walked out of there a new person. I had to go on a 30 minute walk to enjoy how my body felt before I got in the car to drive home. My hips and pelvis felt aligned and open. I could activate my glutes again through the gait cycle. And there was no cracking or agressive movements. He was releasing tightness in areas like the iliacus, hip flexors, and feet where other therapists have never been able to before. All my lower back and hip pain have been resolved, and he even provided me a great resource for foundation training to do on my own to maintain things. I have seen Dr Martone for a few years now. Any time I throw something out or have an imbalance his treatments shorten my recovery time significantly. With his style of chiropractic work, a sort of unwinding style of movement and tissue work, his treatments are more effective and last much longer. I have chronic back problems after some car accidents years ago, and it is a constant challenge to keep myself upright. After seeing one overly-aggressive chiro after another, I finally found Dr. Charlie at Dedicated Wellness. Twenty minutes with him is more effective than repeated visits to a doctor. His approach is very relaxing, usually more like an osteopath/cranio-sacral therapist than what I've come to recognize as chiropractic. This means that he does a lot of massaging of the connective tissue around my bad areas and then gently eases the joints back into alignment. There was one time when my lower back was so locked up that my chest was inches to the right, centered over my right foot. I was in England for a friend's wedding when my back went out, and I was unable to walk upright as well as in excruciating pain for days. Flying home was agony and I was taking all the pain medicine I could find. The next day I booked in with Dr. Charlie (using his really easy online booking system) and he had me good as new within 20 minutes that same afternoon! In 2004, I was suffering from sciatica and lower back pain (double whammy) at the time another chiropractor I had visited five times was ineffective in treating the pain. A friend who had broken his collar bone motocross racing recommended that I see Chiro Charlie. Charlie's integrative treatment had healed my friend to where he had full motion of his shoulder and arm. I have seen a ton of chiropractors and holistic bodyworkers throughout a life of chronic pain + a disabling back injury. I came to Dr.Charlie after I had made some significant recoveries in my back already but was still struggling with some pain. I was nervous to go to a chiropractor after having had back surgery but I really needed some additional support. Dr. Charlie is truly wonderful. His adjustments are low-impact, intuitive, thoughtful, and feel amazing. He really knows his stuff and I feel safe in his office. Dr Martone is the best. I brave the brutal weekend LA traffic from Silver Lake to see him whenever I'm in LA. Never even considered going to chiropractors until Charlie. Other reviewers pretty much went over about him. Got a deal from Groupon for initial visit + 5 follow-ups. It's a little bit of drive from Thai Town to Santa Monica, but I gave it a shot and MAN I MADE A GREAT DECISION! Appointment: There is a website dedicated to make an easy appointment, very user friendly. Obviously, phone call and in-person appointment still work. One time, I called to reschedule and he did it without any hustle whatsoever. Parking: There is 90 min free parking RIGHT NEXT to the location. It's awesome (especially in Santa Monica). Location: It may be a little difficult to find at first. You need to go around the building and enter from backside (alley) through a small door. The office is small but very clean place. Person: The best part number ONE is his personality. He is very very friendly person with a big heart. Unlike some people who give you the look and thinks "Ugh, another Groupon person." (I'm sure you know what I mean.), he treated me just like everybody else. He carefully listened to my problems and the amount of attention made me feel relaxed. The best part number TWO is his skill. I have seen several other chiropractors and his skill surpass all the other. He did listen to me, but he himself was skillful enough to find out the problems by examining with his hands. His style is sort of a combination of deep tissue and cracking. He also treated some of the areas that never got treated like skull and glutes. 1000 words won't be enough to explain his skill, you just have to find out by yourself. Result: Just like any chiropractics, usually not much is different on the following day (in my case) and it wouldn't be an overnight fix (which he explained with his honesty). But I practice kickboxing a few times a week and I felt that my hips were looser and could kick higher. I have never felt that much immediate results. The only con is that his session is 20 min. So he does NOT waste time. As soon as you lie down he starts WORKING on your body, and there is no stopping for him! (In a good way, of course) Lastly, if you mention that you practice any martial arts (boxing, Muay Thai, Jujutsu, etc...). He gets excited talking about it which was (to me) funny. =) It's been about a week, and I already miss him and his sessions. read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Charlie and his Chiro services. I went in a few years ago due to injuring my lower back, & was having a hard time sleeping. Dr. Charlie is a miracle worker! I managed to kink my neck and spine out about 8 months ago, and I wasn't sure what was causing it or how to fix it. I started seeing a more traditional chiropractor who helped my situation drastically, however, it seemed like they treated my spine and neck health as opposed to healing it. When I moved from the Bay Area to Santa Monica back in August, I needed to find a new chiropractor and I'm so lucky to have found Dedicated Wellness and Dr. Charlie. His approach really focuses on the body as a whole. Combining traditional chiropractic work/adjustments with muscular release and stretching has me feeling great again. The treatments hold far longer and have pointed my body and health in the right direction. He seems dedicated to fixing his patients so that they don't have to come in rather than treating them regularly for issues that continue to come back. Long long ago, Dr. Charlie treated me for a back injury that resulted from years of carrying a loaded backpack on my right shoulder. What I believed was a permanent knot the size of a small dinner roll between my spine and shoulder blade gradually disappeared over the course of a couple years, thanks to Charlie's healing touch. Wow! Dr. Charlie is not only a chiropractor, he is a healer. I recently tore a disc in my back and was unable to move or stand without help. After one visit I was able to stand again on my own and have improved steadily with subsequent visits. There was no cracking, twisting or popping here. My body was in full protection mode and locked up tight as a cement block. He gently unwound and released problem areas which allowed misaligned parts to quietly return to their proper home :).
