At first I had a different nurse for every home infusion treatment but I really loved both Ilana and Angela and was able to request either one of them (whoever was free) every time moving forward. I feel really safe and comfortable with both of them. They are pros at IV placement (my least favorite part), thorough about monitoring me throughout the treatment, and always masked as a precaution. They are also super on top of scheduling and communicating with me. Plus I just really like them as people - they are so easy to talk to and we laugh a lot, which is very comforting. I was surprised how effective it was to meet everyone in one session at the beginning--I knew who was coming each shift. At each shift change the departing caregiver gave a detailed description of my husband's current state to the incoming caregiver. He received 24-hour attention starting from the time he talked sports until the final visit from out-of-town family. The caregivers allowed me to make my usual appointments and to sleep -- my husband would get out of bed, get lost, and fall down. They also made an airport run, helped with food for family, and were unfailing in welcoming guests. I was glad that my husband's last days were as comfortable as they could be. We even had similar interests, including having been to India (!) (I wrote a book about my trip to India, "Travels with a Swami," on Amazon) Ourisha was a gentle, caring individual who looked around and took care of everything that needed taking care of. Without being asked, she did the dishes, cleaned up the kitchen, arranged the fridge shelf and asked me if I needed anything on a regular basis.
