And his logic was that he did a 5x8 bath for $29,000 and mine is twice the size. Um really!?!? Are you installing TWO tubs? TWO showers? FOUR vanities. NO logic whatsoever. Was thrilled to walk out. Do not waste your time!! Pure stupidity. And I guess he thought we were clueless. LOL. Was truly a comical experience I wish we had recorded it

The in-home consultation with Mike planning a basement bathroom was helpful to get an idea of the layout of things. However, during that consultation in our home we talked about budgets as the initial quote for a basement bathroom was $15000. We tried to find ways to stay within our budget. Crazy ideas like, what if we buy a vanity ourselves for $500 instead of budgeting $1500 for one they want us to use, were met with annoyance and reasons why that wouldn't work. Long story short, Mike ghosted us. We never heard back from our calls and ultimately ended up using another company to complete our basement project. I wish I could recommend them, but I truly cannot. I get the business end of wanting a certain price so you can turn a certain amount of profit, but ghosting someone is never acceptable and only required a quick call to say "it doesn't sound like we can do business together due to different budgeting priorities ". It left a bad taste in our mouths and that is the story we tell anyone who asks about using Modern Kitchen & Baths.

I also thought that his price was reasonable. After the job was finished, I noticed that I my sump pump was unplugged and a part had been dislodged from the sump pump. The sump pump was located directly next to the area where the crew had to remove the concrete to install the drain tile. Tom was very responsive. He personally stopped by my house and fixed the sump pump - free of charge. His company did a great job with the drain tile - and after the job was finished his company still provided excellent service. I highly recommend his company!

Never prepped or sanded the walls painted right over dropped sand from the ceiling and blamed it on the $90/ gallon paint. Took 3 weeks to fix plumbing on sinks because he installed incorrectly. We had a contract for a complete bathroom remodel including a shower, painting, new lighting, and replace all faucets. We never did get a shower installed, after multiple attempts and excuses to obtain contractor discount. Texts shows he said his bathroom guy left and the shower we contracted for he had no one to finish it. After 2 months of excuses medical ( elbow, heart, kids... ect NO CALL, NO SHOWS.. we had enough and fired him. We had to resand and repaint most walls, replace and reinstall the exhaust fan (so loud and cheapest he could buy) we had to clean off all the dried paint on our new light fixtures and faucets. Pretty much redid the job we paid him to do. He told us he couldn't handle the job because of all the health things, not having staff, and just "life" But I know he's still out there ripping people off because he told the BBB in a rebuttal he never told us he was quitting his shady Azz business.
