Scott came to our house himself to take measurements before he ordered anything, he came by several times during the renovation process to help out and check on the progress. Jerry, the contractor that did all the work was at our house every day until the job was completed. After it was completed, he had my husband and I look over everything to make sure we were satisfied with everything before he left. The following day, Scott came by to look at everything and wanted to make sure we were happy with everything. There were no hidden costs, the renovation cost exactly what they quoted us. Down the road we have some more work that we're wanting to have done at our house and Gateway Kitchen & Bath will be the company that we will go to for that work. Great, great experience.

Maz was punctual. Actually this surprised me a bit. Maz figured out the best location to install it based on the studs in the ceiling and the locations of my garage door openers. Maz worked efficiently and he had it installed in no time. Maz will be my go to handyman for all future projects.

Once the floor was ready to go in, Rob the flooring manager came out to go over how things would work and to make sure that the product got delivered. On the day of installation I met Brian, who was the installer. After removing the carpet Brian realized that there were some issues with the wood floor underneath. Rob came out again and the two of them came up with a plan. Once Rob left, Brian was on it! He was not only incredibly nice, he was professional, efficient, and fast. He cared so much about making sure the job was not only done right, but was done in a way that would make me happy. In this day and age, good help is hard to find and keep, but it looks like they have found a way to do it. And go over the quotes very carefully. I didn't and on painting day found out what I was expecting was not what the painters had planned. They did work with me and got started. But then needed more money because they needed more paint. Shouldn't the professional know how much paint is required for the job? I spoke to another paint company who was shocked I was asked for more money after they were half way through the job. Do I have the option to say no? Not really, I need the job done. Also the communication between the scheduler and the painting team seems faulty, as I expressed clearly about fragrance allergies causing migraines yet no one seemed to care and arrived with cologne and scented clothing. So 5 star painting please fix that, a migraine is no joke. The photo attached is the "corrected" crown molding ... this wobbly line at the bottom is after I asked it to be redone and it's just getting worse because the guy added more caulk over the mess made before and immediately painted under it. Now I need to hire someone else.

They have a payment portal that accepts debit cards so you don't have pay the 3.5% credit card fee or mail a check, but both of those are options. They have some financing options, but I didn't look in detail. They were booking 4-5 weeks out, but it can vary. The fence did take 2 partial days due to weather interfering (it's a small yard), but they came back on Saturday to finish rather than waiting until the next week, which I wouldn't have expected. They confirm the exact date of installation a couple days in advance. The fence is still very new, but it looks good. I'll update if needed. The part that really prompted me to write this is they had put up a dented gate, which I didn't realize was temporary. I noticed but decided not to be difficult and complain. They called a week and a half later and said they saw it was dented and the new gate was ready (had to be made custom) and would be installed the next day. I am impressed they actually cared enough to provide a new one one, unprompted, and installed the initial gate so that my dog could roam freely in the meantime. It seems they actually care about doing a good job.

As noted in my original review, the work was done well, and I am now satisfied with both the repairs and the resolution. ******** I wish this were a more positive review, but I would not recommend Kirkwood Fence. Our salesperson estimated that our fence repair would take 4-8 hours. He explained that the company subcontracts repair work and books labor in half-day or full-day blocks, at $750 or $1,500 respectively. Based on his estimate of the scope of work, I agreed to a full day of labor. The written estimate sent later that day initially overstated the cost by about $600, which was later corrected and approved. On the day of the repair, the crew arrived on time but had been given incomplete information and brought only half of the required materials. They were able to return to the shop, pick up the remaining parts, and complete the repair by lunchtime. Once work began, the repair itself took just over two hours. Despite this, I was charged for a full day of labor. I tried to discuss my concern with the owner, but was referred back to the salesperson, who indicated that no adjustment was possible. The repair work itself was well done and the installation team was great, but my experience with the company left me feeling I'd been suckered.
