It was full, mainly because it has reserved a number of spot for electric-charging vehicles. Instead, I parked on Broadview Avenue. I walked to the venue and passed by Broadview subway station twice. I have a lot of good memories of Broadview station. I used to live in the Beaches. My mom and I would often go grocery shopping on Sundays at the Chinatown at Broadview and Gerrard. We'd either take take the 501-504 streetcar combination to get there, or do the Main 64 bus to Main Street station, take the subway to Broadview, and then hop on the 504 or 505 streetcar heading south. I also took Cantonese classes in Chinatown. These routes were the norm for me on Saturdays. I then moved to taking Cantonese on Saturdays for high school credit. This school was near Spadina and Dundas Street West in the other Chinatown. I'd often take the 505 streetcar to Broadview, and take the subway and bus home. This station has been pretty meaningful in my younger days. I also ended up taking a number of bus routes that come in and out of this subways station. I had physical therapy appointments when I was an undergraduate student. The clinic was at Don Mills and Eglinton. The 100 Flemingdon Park bus got me right to the door. If I missed it, the 25 Don Mills bus was a good alternative, but I had a bit of walking to do. If I didn't feel like taking the subway between Broadview and Main Street, and I had time to kill, I'd take the 62 Mortimer bus. I kind of miss taking a bus because I was curious and had nothing better to do. I drive these days, so I don't have that opportunity. The subway entrance faces west on Broadview Avenue. I remember that this station has three levels with an elevator. It's wheelchair-accessible. I haven't been commuting on the TTC in ages. I really should ride public transit more, but I'm a suburb person these days. It's more convenient for me to drive or it would take me hours to get to and from home. It was nice to reminisce about countless visits to this subway station. I'm glad that it's still around. (196)

I have a sentimental memory of taking my first GO train ride from Danforth GO station. I had a summer job interview in Pickering and took the train eastbound for it. I then took it back to get home when I lived in the Beaches. This station is below the Main Street bridge. I've always taken the stairs to get to and from this station. There are three elevators, but they are out of commission for most of this year. If accessibility is crucial, I'd avoid taking the train here, and go to Scarborough or Eglinton GO station. With a PRESTO card, you need to tap one of the PRESTO machines to start your trip and tap again when you arrive at your destination. It's new to me, as I don't use GO Transit as much as I do the TTC. This station is on the Lakeshore East line. It's the station before you hit Union station heading westbound. I remember the ticket office closing fairly early in the day at Danforth GO. I bought a ticket at a machine back in the day. These days, you can get a ticket from a PRESTO machine, or simply get a PRESTO card and load money on it. It's obviously a smaller train station than Union Station, but underground. It is quite big from the trains to the actual station. Above ground, there are restrooms and a warmer place to wait then outside where you can see the trains coming. Not much to really say about it, since it is just a train station. The thing I don't like about this station is it's a long walk uphill to get to the street. And when you've got luggage and you're exhausted and it's snowy and icy outside, it's kind of a pain in the butt.

Street access from both 1 and 4 King West is available as well as stairs in front of 7 King East and inside 8 King East. There is also an entrance near the Commerce Court at Melinda street. The PATH connects underground at both 1 and 4 King West. This station requires a transfer to get on to any other TTC surface vehicle (bus or streetcar) in which there are many. 172 Cheery Street runs west from St. Andrew on King to Church, south on Church to the Esplanade before turning up Berkeley to Front and south on Parliament to Mill Street near the distillery then east to Cherry Street where it runs south either to Commissioners or south on Cherry. On the return loop from Church instead of running back to King it runs west on Wellington (which is a one way west) to York before turning right and east again on King street towards King station. 97 Yonge runs along Yonge mostly as a supplement to the subway with a few diversions along Bay near Queens Quay. 503 streetcar (Kingston Road) runs west from the Binham Loop (Kingston and Vic Park) west along Kingston Road to Queen and then south on King after the Don River fork and continues west along King then south on Church and west on Wellington before looping up York and east on King towards King Station again. 504 streetcar runs between Dundas West and Broadview station south along Roncesvalles, King and Broadview, north to Broadview station and back. This Street car crosses both St. Andrew and King station along King. 508 streetcar runs from the Long Branch loop near Lakeshore and Brownsline along Lakeshore Blvd, then along the Queensway to King street near the Roncesvalles junction crossing both St. Andrew and King stations. East of Yonge service differs depending on time of day.

I'd often come visit her at her home by taking the subway from Main Street to Chester. A few Saturdays ago, I took line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) from Victoria Park to this station. There was an announcement that the line was closed at Woodbine heading westbound thanks to a trespasser at a station west of it. Shuttle buses were to be deployed. However, when the train that I was on reached Woodbine, another announcement said that trains were running again. I got to Chester. I walked up some stairs. I ended up on the east side of Chester, in a new building. I walked through a Presto kiosk. An older woman was sitting nearby and asked me if trains were running. I said yes -- that they were running again for the last ten minutes. She thanked me. She went through the Presto entrance and headed down to the subway. I remember the original part of this station, which is still located on the west side of Chester Avenue, north of Danforth Avenue. If you need a human to help you out with directions or transit fare, it's best to go there. The new building that I exited and ultimately entered to get back to Victoria Park station is unmanned. The last time I was in this area, I parked on Chester Avenue for free and walked over to Cinnaholic, which is the main reason why I hang out in this area. I noticed heading back to the station that there's a Green P parking lot next to the new building. Cool! I liked taking the subway here and back. Because my trip was less than two hours, I didn't have to pay heading back to Victoria Park because it was considered a transfer from one train to another. (484)

The station has always been clean. Presto gates were installed in 2018. There are two Presto pay kiosks. The station was modernized by 2021. There is a very modern building and entrance on the east side of Chester Ave (the main building with a live TTC staff is on the west side). Beside the new building is a large parking lot with a few accessible parking spots. There is free WiFi. The station is wheelchair accessible with the use of elevators. Boarding was easy and the seats were comfortable. Pre-ordered our breakfasts - choice of omelet or continental. Except for that croissant muffin, food was meh. Next took the train from Ottawa to Montreal via economy. Again, easy boarding. Although not as nice as business, the seats were still comfortable and plenty of legroom. Traveling by train was convenient and nice experience for the family.

I grew up in the Beaches. Main Street subway station is near and dear to my heart, as it was also…read morethe closest station that I used often. Did you know that it's the only TTC subway station with the type of street in its official name? Kennedy Road station? Nope. Bay Street station? Nooo. Main Street is special. Street was added to avoid calling it Main station, as in the main (primary) station in Toronto. It's funny. I grew up calling it Main station. This subway station is considered a hub, meaning that it has at least two different modes of transportation. It has always had the 506 Carlton streetcar. It also has a number of bus routes. My mom and I took the 506 streetcar to get to the Chinatown at Broadview and Gerrard Street East. It was cool doing grocery shopping on a Sunday, which was an exception back in the day. Most stores were closed. I also went to Chinese school in the neighbourhood and took Chinese classes in the summer on Leslie Street, just south of Gerrard. I have a lot of memories commuting on this route. Main 64 was the bus that I took the most to get me down to Queen Street East. I'd then walk a few blocks to get home. This route used to be split into two: southbound to Queen and northbound to Eastdale. I can still hear my mom reminding me, "Look carefully and make sure you're taking the bus southbound!" Of course, on the rare occasion that we hopped on the wrong bus, you simply continued sitting there until the bus returned you to the station. It would then go southbound. The downside is taking this bus on Sundays. It was super slow and I imagine that things haven't changed. I passed by this station on a Sunday and did not see the Main 64 bus. Figures! I believe that my odd interest with numbers and bus routes started at this station. When you are waiting for your bus to arrive at the platform, there's nothing better to do than to figure out what bus routes do. The lineup of bus routes hasn't changed since I was in high school: - 20 Cliffside - 23 Dawes - 62 Mortimer - 64 Main - 87 Cosburn - 113 Danforth - 135 Gerrard The last two routes were introduced during my high school years. It's nice that they are still alive and running. The pale yellow background when you're waiting for the subway to come hasn't changed. I have memories of meeting friends to head downtown. My friend boarded at Kennedy, so I suggested that we meet by or in the first car going westbound. It worked well. Ah, memories! This station has an elevator for accessibility needs. It's also helpful if you've got a large rolling suitcase that you are moving between the GO station nearby and this TTC station. (55)

I have fond memories of taking the Pape 72 bus, which runs from this…read morestation and heads south on Pape Avenue, doing a turn on Riverdale, and continuing south along Carlaw. I used to transfer from the 72 bus to the 501 Queen streetcar, and vice-versa, growing up in the Beaches. Back in the day, I frequented Towers and Consumers Distributing (I'm really going back in time) at the northeast corner of Gerrard and Carlaw. Gerrard Square was a block away, so I'd shop there as a teen. As an undergraduate, I had physiotherapy in the same plaza as Towers. The downside was that Towers had closed down. There was a Food City next door. Knob Hill Farms took over from Food City. The last grocery store that replaced Knob Hill Farms was No Frills. This entire plaza is gone to make way for Gerrard station on the Ontario Line, a rapid transit line. These days, the entire bus platform at Pape station is shut down, also due to the Ontario Line being built. Only two buses stop at this station now: - Pape 72 - Pape 972 (night line) My manager and I were reminiscing about the Don Mills 25 bus. He remembered it coming out of Pape station. I thought it ran out of Broadview. We are both right. Due to the bus platform shutdown, this bus has been rerouted to Broadview station. It was nice to reminisce about this station when I was riding the subway to get to Chester. Good memories. So much change! (485)

I have fond memories of Pape station as it used to be the station I had to go to as a child when I…read morewent to visit my uncle that lived in Thorncliffe Park. Wow how this station has changed since way back in the day when it was just like all the other stations on the Danforth. Pape has a new look both inside and out. These days that's not common at all. It seems that TTC has really spruced up this station for whatever reason but it's nice and Pape has a bunch of buses that run out of it basically 4 more than the others nearby that mostly have 2. Pape station is actually a bit north of the Danforth at Lipton Ave and Pape. The south west portion of the station has a tiny Tim Horton's as part of the station. It's not a half and half inside and outside the station set up like the McDonald's at Dundas West but it's s tiny, busy little stand. The bus loop around entrance is off pape and the buses drive clockwise around to Lipton Ave. The 25 Don Mills travels north along Pape to the Leaside Bridge and east on Overlea before turning north on Don Mills road with a connection to Don Mills and Sheppard to the 4 line continuing north all the way to Steeles before looping around a few small side streets before turning south. The 185 Don Mills express basically travels the same route but only stops at certain bus stops. The 72 Pape bus runs south from Pape station on Pape ave turning right on Riverdale and then left (south) onto Carlaw and follows Carlaw all the way to Commissioners Street and goes west on Commissioners basically to Cherry before looping back around. The 81 Thornclilffe Park bus goes north on Pape ave to Millwood and turns right at Overlea and loops around Thorncliffe Park drive. This bus route is rather short but has a lot of high rise buildings that it services. There's been rumors that if there is to be a downtown relief line (subway) built that Pape is considered one of the stations to be a terminus. If that happens the use of this station will increase dramatically.
