I am so thankful to have options such as this school because some kids just don't do well at large public schools and need different accommodations that other schools can't offer. There's a lot of kids who think they're cool for being rude and disruptive, but if I was one of their teachers I would want to kill myself, and they do not punish those kids enough. A lot of the staff care more about a good student having their phone out once or being slightly mean to them more than student bullying or assault or mental health. The health teacher who still works here skipped over the mental health unit because it's "not important" and talked mostly about how you should diet as a teen because being skinny good and is the only way to be healthy and drugs being bad. The test scores suck because most of the teachers can't teach or the kids are just bad. The principal horribly mishandled a lock-out by not checking the news before doing a fire drill where we go outside. When there was a threat OUTSIDE of the school, they labelled it as a lockdown (this means the threat is inside of the school) instead of a lock-out (the threat is outside the school but nearby). There were kids in the halls who were locked out of classes and safety basically waiting to die. They don't unlock the bathrooms and tell us to go during transition period or lunch even if our classes are across the whole school and/or we need to eat. This school isn't even safe. There's so many fights here that it's not even shocking to hear there was a fight anymore. I would not recommend this school even if it was to my worst enemy. I wish the good staff better schools to work at, because this school is NOT it.
