Whitey will take good care of your pool and he demonstrates gratitude even to people who call around for quotes and end up going another direction. Originally we were debating which company to use to repair our pool liner and steps and had gotten quotes from several companies. We went with a company that claimed they could refurbish the steps... well we learned the hard way that some things are just too good to be true. I regret not just finding a way for Whitey to do my liner. I know he would have done it right and taken the time to answer all of my questions. I know this because my neighbors who we referred to him said that was their exact experience. He and his son kept coming over to check and monitor the refill of the pool once the liner was installed. Our experience with another company was not like that whatsoever. We kept having our calls and texts with legitimate questions ignored. If you call Whitey he may not pick up right away but he will call you back when he has a moment and will answer your questions. I appreciate that after 4 months of going back and forth to get a clear picture and answers. I also would say that when you look for companies to fix your stuff pay attention to the recency of reviews. I was floored when I saw the ratings on this website and a couple of other places. Whitey has customers spanning back decades. If I had to guess, many of them are old school too and won't take the time to jump online and leave a review. Anyways, after calling around in August and getting ignored by other companies or being offered ridiculous prices for a basic cover, we reached out to Whitey to get a cover on our pool. He's been updating us along the way and came out when he told us he was going to come out. Whitey prices competitively and because he's been in the business for years he has connections that help him get the job done for his customers. My partner and I were looking to get our sod done in April 2025. We stopped by Lake Ridge Nursery…read more(after Lowes and Home Depot), who happened to be almost 3X the amount. After speaking with the lady up front (I believe it was the owner Donny's wife, but not 100% sure) she talked us into using their services because she convinced us that their sod was locally grown and they had expert installers. We spend almost $1,000.00 and they came by the next week. Everything seemed to be ok after they left, but less than a month later, the sod stared to brown. MULTIPLE requests (including text messages, phone calls and visits to the store) and months later Donny finally agreed to replace the sod. NO notification that they were coming, I got a knock on my door the last day of October (7 MONTHS later) they were there to replace the sod. In the middle of the guys replacing the sod, Donny (the owner) literally pulled up in front of my house, got out and screamed in front of my entire neighborhood how he didn't think my sod actually needed to be replaced and to "never effing call him again" (Yes I have it all on video if anyone is interested). After an altercation, he trespassed me from his store. Nice way to deal with a customer that only wanted to get what he paid almost 3X what he should have from a local business.

We bought a house with a small pool and went to Caribbean Pool Service as a both a local Alexandria company and the company that had previously serviced the pool hoping to find a company we could trust to help us with our new pool. After zero communication over more than a week after we had scheduled to have the pool 'cleaned', the first crew arrived with broken equipment to drain the pool. Two weeks after the initial scheduled date, the acid wash made the pool worse. When we contacted the company they told us we had asked for the acid wash. We clearly were new pool owners who had no idea what we were doing and had looked to them for their professional opinion. I was told initially that the president of the company had come to look at the pool to see what it needed but later was told that they hadn't looked at the pool and that it was our request. Upon calling repeatedly and being put off over and over we contacted other pool companies for estimates. Caribbean demanded that we pay for the acid wash but finally negotiated a price and they said they would re-plaster the pool. It took additional weeks of calling and being put off and patronizing and condescending responses but they came and drained the pool. It still took another TEN days before before they finally sent a crew who blasted music on a Sunday morning in our quiet neighborhood. To top it off, they sent us a bill the next day after completion with an immediate due date! When we didn't pay within a few days we were sent threatening, harassing and demeaning emails and messages. Even when we sent them payment information, they followed up with additional harassing emails. I have dealt with dozens of contractors and service companies over the years. I have NEVER had service this atrocious. Please do yourself a favor and find another company.

After checking their references, I decided to go with Caribbean because I felt very comfortable and their customers were very positive. Once we picked out our tile and coping, they got started right away. They started everything on a Monday and had it ready to swim in by the weekend with everything done. I was very pleased with the work they did and how quickly they got it done. We were so pleased that we have them doing a weekly pool cleaning for us this coming summer.
