I told them I was traveling this weekend and can't pay bills after 6pm on a Friday while our of town without any pictures of proof that work Is completed. 3. My objection was to not being able to use a secured website and being forced to provide a credit card number to someone who is very hostile on the phone. 4. They demanded immediate payment with 3.5% debit card fee which doesn't leave me an option to pay by a check even though their invoice states 5 day grace period. Original review: The office staff was rude and unprofessional. The lady called me while I was out of town and immediately started arguing with me, demanding I pay them right away without any proof that the work was even done. They run everything like it's still 2005 -- they can't even send a simple link to pay with a credit card. They also charge a 3.5% fee for using a credit card, but that fee doesn't even show up on the receipt. Pretty scammy if you ask me.

We admired their work so much, rehired them a year later to remove overgrowth in front of house and redesign landscaping. May 2025: after Brennan (patiently) listened to our wants/suggestions, he emailed us a visual image. It was perfect, just what we envisioned. Removed all the disproportionate shrubs & weeds. They planted and put down mulch. Overall, we could not be any happier. Brennan & his team did a fantastic job, both times. Highly recommend, without any reservations.

Luckily due to a delay we were able to catch their mistake with the dimensions of the bigger part of the project and get it corrected before it was complete. I would not recommend unless you are able to supervise closely at all times.

I have had two joint replacement surgeries in the last 9 months so I needed help. I don't know what their landscape design skills are because I had already decided what plants I wanted. I picked up plants from 2 nurseries. Saved him time and me money. ( It is later in the year and I had a hard time finding everything at one.) He suggested Hinsdale Nursery whose size of shrubs were amazing. Also had luck at Wasco in St. Charles. I placed where I wanted them and J&C had everything planted and mulched in half a day. They also removed 3 older (large) shrubs. They are VERY hard workers and Javier couldn't be nicer to work with. Always wants to make sure the customer is happy with the job. Responds by text within very reasonable amount of time (you need to consider the day and time you are texting as he is doing work also). Nice weather the first time (in 70's) This second project is re-grading a path and laying stepping stones. Also adding sod where necessary and blending with the other lawn in the area that is not being replaced. The weather is horribly hot and humid (in the 90's) and they are doing a great job. I would definitely use them again. Highly recommend.

Then a few years later in 2015, we had them tackle the side beds and our front yard landscaping. Same story, but it included super creative uses of what we had planted ourselves back in 2009. It wasn't that we had planted a lot or that we were tied to it, but it was appreciated that they reused the daylillies and hostas along the side of the house to avoud having to throw anything away. We also used Semper Fi for a mulch delivery in 2016, but after spreading 9 yards of mulch myself we decided not to do that again. Today we just got home after our Semper Fi performed our latest spring bed clean up and mulch spreading and it's a brand new yard all over again. We couldn't be happier with the personal service and attitude of the folks at Semper Fi and recommend them at every opportunity. Thanks to Robert, Frannie, Tina, and the rest of the family!
