Absolutely stunning bed and breakfast in a charming historic home close to Letchworth State Park…read more The rooms are beyond immaculate, not a spot of dust to be seen. They are spacious, yet cozy. The owners are the kindest couple and really go the extra mile to make your stay special. Freshly baked cookies are delivered to the room each day as well as a menu to choose your breakfast entree for the following morning. The breakfast is 3 courses and every bite of it was amazing. You get a pastry, fruit course, and a choice of a sweet/ savory main course. Coffee from a local roaster to boot. You are told to make yourself at home when entering and it really truly feels that way during your stay. I cannot recommend this inn enough. It was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast and it certainly set the bar high!

Our reservation in the Moose cabin was for the last 3 nights of their season…read more Upon arrival Denise greeted us and showed us into the cabin. It was just as represented on the website...very nice. When I questioned what the fragrance was in the cabin, Denise said it was a plug-in air freshener. I asked if she would unplug it, as I was sensitive to fragrances. She opened the closet door (where it was hidden) and unplugged it. She said it was a mouse deterrent, but we didn't give it a second thought. The second night of our stay we were kept up by the sound of mice in the wall starting at 2:30 am. Needless to say we didn't want to stay a third night and lose another night's sleep. When Sean came with the muffins that morning, I spoke to him about the mice and said we wouldn't be staying. He immediately said we would not get any refund. He also said that I had been complaining since I got there!! All I did was ask that the air freshener be unplugged! He said he wasn't going to loose $200 because of a mouse. This was not a rustic cabin by any stretch. It was very nice. You just don't expect mice in the walls. He wasn't interested in making any adjustment at all. Maybe a partial refund? I wonder if they were just plain tired from a long season of renting. I wouldn't recommend staying, unless you sleep well with mice and enjoy the smell of sulphur in your bath water.

I managed this motel some years ago. I became pregnant with my daughter at the time. I am hoping…read morethere are new owners. I and my ex husband had no experience, but saw an ad for the job which had an attached double room and I wanted to save on rent for awhile. I was a nitpicky cleaner. I did most of the cleaning, my ex husband had a part time job in Buffalo. There were things the owners wouldn't do, like replace old pillows, sheets, mattress covers. But when I was there. everything was spotless and the bedspreads were done at least once a week...you will never find that in any other motel. The owners would promise to relieve us once a week as it was a 24/7 operation (I was up at 2 and 3 and 4 am for the bell at the lobby), but they started coming less and less. I spent my own money on morning coffee in the lobby. I started buying sample necessities for those too poor to have them after they vvisited people at the prison. When I became pregnant, about 8 months in, I asked the owners to hire a girl fom the village to help me clean rooms during the Air Show and Kingdon Bound- at minimum wage. They said no. I had to leave. I sympathize with both the managers and guests if it is anything like it once was.

I read previous reviews and they were a lot more negative than what I experienced. From my observation the place seems locally owned (the owners seem to live in the office area, literally) and is a little bit run down but they at least keep the rooms clean. It's not gourmet but simple continental breakfast is offered in the morning to get your day started. To sum it up its not very fancy but if you're looking for a place to stay that won't break your budget as much, go for it.
