I did not know Van Booven had arrived and was already working because they did not contact me or ring my door bell. I looked out my window and no one was there in front of my house. So when the other company called, I told them to come out. Turns out after the other company called and I told them to come out, I heard some machinery so I went outside and saw Van Booven's truck parked 2 houses north of mine - I have no idea why so far away. Then I saw a couple of men on my driveway working on downed tree limbs. The other company arrived shortly and I had to turn Van Booven away. I would have used Van Booven if they had let me know they were there. When I told them I was using the other company, the man said they would send me a bill. Honestly, if you were a house painter and a homeowner asked you to paint their house, would you paint it any color you wanted, or would you first consult with the owners? This was a similar situation. Van Booven sent me a bill for $325 just for coming out. Given the above information, I do not recommend Van Booven as I do not feel they are honest and I feel they did not care what I wanted because they did not consult with me before they began working.

After nearly 30 years, it was time to replace our roof last April. I contacted four different…read morecompanies and received itemized estimates from each. After checking references, I chose Cordray Roofing. Their references were excellent, and we drove by houses they had roofed and were impressed by their work. Cordray was not the cheapest bid, but their extra cost was in labor, not materials. I did not want a crew that was rushing through my job in order to get to the next job, I wanted a crew that treated my roof as if they were working on their own house. That is what I got with Chente and his team. They did an excellent job! They removed two layers of shingles and the tar paper layer and found four spots where the plank decking was rotten. All four spots were redecked at no additional charge. The crew was polite, professional, and worked their tails off, completing the entire job in four days. The finished roof looks fantastic, better than we had expected! The workmanship is impeccable, including small finishing touches that give a clean, tight appearance. There are two things I must mention regarding Cordray's business practices. First, when the shingles were delivered, the delivery driver thought he saw a third layer of cedar shingles under the two layers of asphalt. That was not included in the bid, and would cost another $700 - $900 to remove. Cordray told me that this was an error on their part, and they would not charge me for removing the additional layer. Once they started tear-off, they discovered that there was no third layer, just a row of cedar shingles along the edge to reinforce the overhang of the asphalt layer. I'm sure that was a relief to them, but I was still impressed that they stepped up and stood behind their estimate. Second, even though the roofers took precautions by putting up tarps and plywood during tear-off to protect the house, one of our window screens was torn by falling debris. These are rather expensive "invisible" screens and the tear was not easy to see. I did not notice the damage for four months. When I did see it, I contacted Cordray, not really expecting them to do anything. After all it was months after the project was completed. Jeff Cordray asked me to send a photo of the damage, which I did. He immediately informed me that he would cover the full cost of the replacement, and even worked directly with Andersen windows to pay for it. To say Cordray Roofing is a class act would be an understatement. From start to finish, they exceeded expectations. I would highly recommend them to anyone need roofing or other work done on the home.

Contracted for grading, verticutting, sod and seeding in large area left bare and very uneven where…read morenew septic system was installed. Paid half the contracted price up front. It was over a month before a crew arrived to do the work, and that was after multiple unfulfilled promises of a start date. It took a threat to cancel the contract to get the job started. The crew sent out to do the work did not come prepared to do any grading work, and the crew chief said owner James Schneider did not give him any instructions to do grading work. Also, bare areas that were to receive sod were left without sod and seeded instead. Attempts to contact owner James Schneider that day were unsuccessful - secretary said "he's in a meeting." He never returned multiple calls. James did, however, email an invoice demanding full payment less than 12 hours after crew left the site. Refused to pay the full contract price because the grading work contracted for was not performed, and James sent out a crew knowing they were not instructed to perform all of the contracted for work. Classic bait and switch tactic. Very unscrupulous business practices. Even though James agreed to discount the price - but only after I objected - I had to spend additional time and money to put down more sod in the area that did not receive sod as promised, and will have to live with the uneven ground in the area that James did not grade as promised. And James blamed everything on his secretary, taking no personal accountabilty for the problems. Do not trust Solutions Lawn and Landscape - and owner James Schneider - to deliver what they promise.

The condition and appearance of my lawn has been best since I have been using Turf Masters. I had been less happy with their snow removal service until this last winter. It seems that they have bought new equipment that permits them to get it done for all their customers more rapidly than in prior years.
