An associate by the name of Mike F., has been an excellent resource in helping me in a couple of very important projects. Today was no exception. I'm building a new shop in my back yard and since the shop has a loft, I needed someone to help me put together a plan for a pully system a little more complicated than just a basic system. Explaining to Mike what I was wanting to accomplish, he completely understood that this wasn't just a basic shop I was building and that I wanted to add a little more "cool factor" to the hatch lid system. Probably not a big deal to many, but for some of us, it helps to display our craftsmanship a little better. Mike, who has excellent people skills, takes great pride in his personal appearance and writes with a fountain pen, is very unique and really stands out in today's world of business associates. He started building the system as we spoke and as we were gathering materials, he explained not only the how, but the whys behind every piece while putting it together. In the end, I had a much better, robust and cooler pulley system than I had originally imagined, and it's going to be an awesome addition to the shop. Thanks Mike! Homedepot is a nightmare compared to my experience I just had exchanging a dewalt tool that I had a protection plan on. Home Depot wants you to call customer service or call someone else or write a letter or what the heck ever they come up with. Tractor Supply all day for protection plans.

The closest place to my location was Davis Food & Pharmacy. They didn't have the Brand I was after, so I decided to grab one that was on sale - secret clinical. I grabbed a 1.6 oz box of the 'Light' fragrance because it was behind a sign that read $8.99. The part of the sign, that I failed to read was 'certain scents.' I should've brought it up to a store manager but we were on a tight schedule with a dinner reservation. Having been a retail manager, I know the store should've honored their sign but, I gave them a freebie today. Other than that, I feel the store was clean, well-stocked, but ill-staffed. There was one cash register open and a line 5 deep. We chose to go thru self check out which is the main reason I didn't push the price discrepancy issue!

The store itself is nice too-clean, well stocked and has just about everything you'd need. Service was a little iffy-the cashier might not be thrilled about her job. But I get it, we all hate our jobs now and then. Otherwise, I'll be back when I need a donut or three and a jug of milk to go along with them.
