Harry the owner was extremely friendly, humble, and motivated, and was ready to get started the next day. All the other companies we had gotten estimates from were unbelievably overpriced, and not willing to start right away. I was concerned about damage to my lawn from the bobcat carrying the heavy wood to replace the wall. Not only was there no damage at all, but they cleaned up and took away all the rotted wood. They were done and gone in one day. The wall is now stable with new wood, and sure to last. He wasn't pushy or arrogant, and took the time to explain things without rushing. Santiago landscaping will get any future patio, wall, stone, or paver work I might have.

After that came the big project, Eric and his courteous & professional team installed a patio on my back yard. This was not just any patio, its a 700 square foot monster with a large retaining wall, curves, removal of part of my deck and about 6 pallets worth of pavers! On top of the planned material, my yard and the recent weather (thunderstorms) threw all sorts of challenges into the process but Eric and his team took every challenge and turned it into an asset which his planning and detail showed in the final product. Eric's attention to detail is obvious as he has an eye for every detail and thinks through every situation and outcome. He also refused to take any shortcuts throughout the entire process. I own a quarter acre property with front & back yards and some planters that needed cleaning. I have a large wooded area behind my house that is part of my property where leaves can be blown or hauled. So there is no need to transport leaves off my property (usually an extra cost). I called and they came and just dropped my quote in the mailbox. I was home waiting, they never knocked to talk to me, they chose to avoid me (now I understand why). For reference the average cost of services in my area is $250-$450 for my property size. The past 10 years I've had someone come I've never been charged more than $350 for a 3 man crew to finish my property within 1-1.25 hours. This company had the nerve to quote me $1,285 at a one time fee for in their words, "fall cleanup of leaves throughout front & back yard & flower beds." E & J's Landscaping in West Springfield, Mass is a disgrace to all businesses in my home town and the hard working small companies that do far more professional & amazing work. In the end I found a real nice guy with a property management company at the reasonable price of $300 for this years cleanup, and the work was great enough for me to book them for future work. Do your research people, there are far better and more deserving companies than this greedy, unscrupulous one. Attached is an image of the free estimate with redactions of my name, address, phone and invoice number. The price looks abnormal, but this is exactly as I received it with business card in my mailbox. Like I stated previously, I did not hire them so I did not overpay for any of their services. They come out every week usually on the same day with a crew of around four to mow, weed wack, edge and blow all sidewalks and driveways clean.
