I love the front desk staff and my daughter saw Dr. Neel for over a decade. We always thought Dr. Neel was very thorough but now that she is older and has received other opinions, my thoughts are a bit different. At her first adult dental appointment, they asked why she had never received any orthodontic care and said she needed to see an orthodontist ASAP. Severe overbite and significant overcrowding that had been getting worse over the course of several years. She is now almost 20 and multiple doctors have told us that she needs 1-2 years of braces and corrective jaw surgery to fix her mouth. I'm not sure why this was overlooked since we asked Dr. Neel several times if she would ever need braces from the time she was little and he always said no. When she was older, we asked about certain things that were abnormal with her teeth/bite and he told us multiple times that there was nothing wrong. I wish he had referred us to an orthodontist while she was under his care so we could have dealt with this earlier. We feel a bit confused on why this issue was never addressed and why this was able to go untreated for so long. read more

My daughter was a patient since she was 2. We never missed a visit and always asked how her teeth looked. She didn't have pictures taken until she was 5, and only because I insisted. They said she had 8 cavities on all of her molars and recommended we put her under and do caps on all of them. We don't drink Juice in our home, eat a healthy diet and brush regularly. We asked about fluoride pills when she was first seen because we use bottle water and were told she did not need it. Nothing was ever shared with us that was concerning. Today, they said her mouth is small and her teeth are tight .. we will be getting a second opinion. I don't trust them at all and they rush people in and out. Dr. Neal was upset two of his assistants worked to try and get X-rays of my daughter - thank god they did or we would not know how bad her teeth were. I am so mad read more

We love it here at Greenspring Pediatric Dentistry!! I have been bringing my daughter here since elementary school and she's now a high school junior. Today her temperature was scanned prior to being taken in the back (good stuff!!) Dr. Neel and his staff are amazing. They've always been super professional and accommodating and they make the dentist office a not so scary place for children to come to. Dr. Neel makes sure that he sees all of his patients and is kept abreast of their individual tooth/teeth health. At the end of each visit, Dr. Neel always gives a thorough update on the current status of my daughters overall oral health. I've recommended family members to this practice and they love it here just as much as we do. The staff keeps you up to date with timely appointment reminders and any updates on closures and openings, especially during this time of the current pandemic. There's usually free hot coffee, magazines and fully stocked play area for small children, these amenities have been suspended in an effort to stop the spread of the virus, which I am happy to see the practice looking out for the safety of the staff and patients. Would not recommend. We went for a first dentist appointment for our 1 year old. Dentist was really impersonal, not trauma informed and did not give any real advice on how to make tooth brushing easier. Child was screaming and dentist said "I need you to hold him." For a pediatric dentist I expect the dentist to be empathetic and supportive, that's not how I or my child felt leaving the office. The office looks like there was an after thought on adding a few play pieces but not kid centric. They don't require masks in the waiting room and had no outlet protectors, so I couldn't let my kid down to play. read more

This was the least engaged dental practice I've ever seen in my life , pediatric or adult. Very impersonal staff and the bare minimum effort put into my child. The first was not as bad as the subsequent visits, thus the two star rating. But , this practice lacked any kind of warmth from front office to chairside. read more

So listen, my children had an awesome pediatric dentist; friendly staff, large play area, video games, knowledgeable dentist... But this isn't a review for that office because they stopped accepting our insurance. Greenspring Pediatric. The location is close to the beltway which is convenient for work/school/bites to eat. The staff is friendly and have always been helpful. Dr. Neel greets my little ones with a warm smile and is open to answer any questions I have about their care. The practice is small but intimate, the one major selling point for the office is we've never experienced a long wait. When we arrive to the office, my children are seen within 10 minutes. I love that!! So yeah, they may not have an indoor slide or a game room but they do have an excellent staff, fast and comprehensive service and a great space. We'll keep going back, as long as my insurance is accepted. read more

What can I say about Dr.Neel and the awesome staff at Greenspring pediatric dentistry! My son has been a patient here for a little over 4 years and they always make my experience pleasant. My little guy hates the dentist and Dr.Neel and his assistant's are so patient and talk him through the whole process and they do it with a smile! Dr. Neel is personable. The waiting room is great: trains and books for the kids, coffee and tea for mom and dad. To prevent the light from shining in their eyes the kids get to wear sunglasses. Typical prizes at the end of visit. It's in the new quarry shopping center, so there are a few restaurants nearby, toy shop, and a drug store, for miscellaneous errands, window shopping, or lunch. read more

This dentist have no experience,very sloppy ,talk a lot and bad staff.He couldn't figure out my son's problem,he had many cavities ,which he filled in a way that gave him more problems and the other doctor said that the previous doctor filled it in a very wrong way, he put a sealant which wasn't dry and the fungus started growing underneath,the other dentist had to scratch the sealant ,dried it well and put new sealant. Rude doctor and rude staff.Would not recommend any of my friend to go there. read more

My son has been seeing Dr. Neal for about five years. Our schedules are so crazy, we sometimes call just hoping g to get an appointment. My son actually will remind us ALL if we cancelled an appointment for him that he needs to go! What kid does that? The entire staff is AMAZING! Dr. Neal and his staff are truly exceptional. I never have a wait. He is fair, and very honest. My son has a gag reflex, so GPD was recommended to us by another practice......BEST recommendation ever. I'm in the medical field and sometimes very reluctant of referrals, outside of the doctors I know, however, my family and I were very pleased. I drive about 60 miles to get him to his appointments because of the care he receives. The office is always clean and looks nice. it is warm and welcoming. I'd recommend this practice to any parents out there. read more

We were almost paid almost $1,000 for unnecessary work done on my kids. We were referred to Dr. Neel by our good friends. Our first time seeing him, he said my (6 yr old) daughter had 2 cavities that needed to be filled and my (7 yr old son) needed a gold cap. And they would both need laughing gas (for another $200-$250 per kid) as an anesthetic. I was shocked considering my kids brush, floss and mouthwash every day, twice a day. And we don't give them fruit snacks or juice. Anyway, I asked Dr. Neel why my son needed a gold cap on his molar that will eventually fall out. Dr. Neel said it was because that molar wouldn't fall out until my son was 12. So 5 more years!! Our previous dentist noticed the crack on my sons molar which they said as long as it's not causing any discomfort or pain, just to leave it alone. My son never once complained about that tooth, yet Dr. Neel said he needed a gold cap. Anyway, we decided to take our kids to get a second opinion at my dentist who I've been going to for over 2 years. My entire family goes there and they even drive 2 hours just for this dentist. He looked at my daughters teeth and said she only had one, SMALL cavity that he could fill quickly right then and there. It was so small that she didn't need any anesthetic. He filled it in under 10 seconds and the insurance covered the entire $60 payment. He said the other "cavity" is not a cavity and they'll make note of it but it's definitely not a cavity yet so there's no need to fill it. He then checked my sons tooth and said he does not need a gold cap. That unless it starts to bother our son, then he would look at filling it. He said a cap would be a last resort since it is so expensive and there's other cheaper options that would work out just as well for him. Needless to say we told our good friends who referred us. Unfortunately they already paid Dr. Neel a few thousand dollars for their daughters 4 gold caps that she apparently "needed". And they were prepared for their 4 year old son to get one in a few weeks. Apparently Dr. Neel found that he needed a gold cap too. Our friends decided to also get a second opinion and will not return to Greenspring Pediatric. We decided to write a review in hopes that no one else will put their kids through unnecessary treatment and spend thousands of dollars on it. Lesson learned to always get a second opinion even if it is for just a cavity w/laughing gas!! read more

This dental practice has a policy. Regardless of the reason, if you miss two appointments without 2 days notice they will stop seeing your children. Between homes and here in Baltimore for a month we wanted our daughter seen for what I suspected were cavities, our three children have never had them in 13 years so I was unsure. After waiting an hour past our appointment, with several patients walking in after us and seen before us, we were finally seen for exactly 10 minutes by the dentist who was very ill informed on breastfeeding and kept giving skeptical glances to his hygienist who was taking notes as I detailed the daily tooth care we engage in for all of our children. Several times he blamed my breastfeeding - being a lactation consultant and having actually read studies in Pediatric Dentistry I knew this to be false. I was told my daughter should get immediate care under full sedation in the hospital to have the teeth filled and capped. Meanwhile, he quickly passed a toothbrush over her teeth and a smidge of fluoride painted on - in total 10 minutes to the tune of $225. I love it here!! They have a policy of 2 strikes you're out. Well unfortunately, I cancelled my daughter's appointment on the same day twice and was told that she could no longer be seen there. I tried a pediatric dentist in Owings mills and was so dissatisfied, I pratically begged Greenspring to take my daughter back and they did. I make it a point to get there on time and cancel at least 48hrs in advance because it is worth staying here. The office is clean and the staff is friendly and there is hardly any wait. Dr. Napute is friendly and always smiling. The staff jokes and play around with my daughter; they make us feel very comfortable. read more
