My 91 year old mom currently lives at the Greenridge Senior Care facility. Initially she was taken care of in the skilled nursing facility for a serious fall where she broke her arm and was unable to live independently during her recovery. This was the event that made it clear my mom was no longer SAFE living in the home she had come to love, so I made the decision to have her move into the assisted living facility next door to the skilled nursing facility. Greenridge is not a fancy assisted living facility, it is like going to college and living in a dormitory with a bunch of your new friends and a caring team of employees who strive to make your stay way better than where you had lived previously. I can honestly say my mom enjoys her new friends and is in much better mental state than living independently with my 62 year old brother and her two non-caring grandsons. If your parent is adaptable to a more community type living environment give Greenridge a try. read more

This is a terrible place to send someone for rehab after surgery. My brother was placed here by Kaiser after treatment at the Kaiser Hospital. He has MS in addition to the medical problem. The staff is friendly when you arrive and smile a lot, but if you ask for anything pretty much nothing gets done. The first day that my family member was there the "social worker" advised me that the discharge date was in 10 days. This is without any evaluation of his condition or prognosis on his improvement. Everything is tied to the ability for Medicare and insurance to pay. They don't care about the patient's condition. My brother was placed in a room with a non-working call button. The first night he got no sleep because a dementia patient next door was yelling all night. There were no hand wipes available, I simply went out and provided them, the facility never provided them. During his stay and my numerous visits I observed feces left on the shared bathroom toilet seat, he complained to the staff but cleaning was of a low priority. The biggest problem is the lack of communication between the patient and the various workers. Everyone has their own little job, none of them communicate with each other, delays are frequent, inaction is the norm. This facility is Kaiser's contracted rehabilitation center. I feel that Kaiser should find a better facility. read more

Greenridge - Assisted Living Facilities Near Me - El Sobrante, California

I am currently a patient, recovering from a broken leg. Most of the staff are very nice although wait times for help can sometimes seem long--but shorter than Kaiser hospitals. I was sympathetically offered another room due to a difficult, demanding roommate. Most of the meals are tasty although there are some food-fails. I would give meals a 3 out of 4. I feel that I am getting good physical and occupational therapy. The grounds are beautiful. This is not a 4 star hotel, but what senior care facility is with minimum wage, over-worked workers? Blame owners or corporations for most problems--they're the ones cutting corners. The grounds are beautiful. I would definitely recommend Greenridge. read more

We are so happy with Greenridge. My aunt has been living there for at least five years and my uncle joined her last year. They are very happy with the food, the staff and the care they've received. The rooms are basic, but clean. The staff is quite attentive, truly cares about them, and calls me immediately if there is anything to report. The experience has been extremely positive. read more

My mother recieved comfort care at Greenridge last month. And I agree with the other review of this place. I cannot praise the care she received too highly. The staff is outstanding. I never felt there was a shortage of attention available.The facility is clean and friendly and feels active during the day. My mother was there for about 2 months and received excellent, compassionate care. The resident therapy dog was a real mood-lifter (Sammy) and staff was wonderful -every one. Food was surprisingly good for a nursing home and it's a good size - only 60 beds so there is a lot of individual attention. While the building is old, efforts are made to keep it bright & cheery. My only real complaint is that they need better wheelchairs - theirs are not in the best condition - and that they rely too heavily on wheelchairs for patient safety (though I understand they want to avoid falls). read more

My Grandmother has been residing at Greenridge since November 2012 and from day one she has been given great care and her needs have been met with compassion and understanding. From the owner, social worker, nursing director, activities director, physical therapists, rn's, lvn's and overall staff in all areas I appreciate the excellent service. The facility is always clean and someone is always available to help and assist with whatever is needed. unbelievable my wonderful, sweet, family member has been at greenridge care center since the latter part of 2018. she is comfortable there. change is very difficult on her emotionally and physically. her family members have had to call 911 for her when the doctor on staff has failed to do so. each time her sickness has been so bad she was admitted to the hospital. recently she was admitted to the hospital for several days. the day the hospital went to discharge her the owner, Linda, told the hospital she could not come back. what kind of person does that to an elderly, very ill person?? its like telling her she can't come home. my family member is devastated and has no where to go. unbelievable. plz note if i find out there are any descrepcies in what i have written above I will reply. read more

The staff are very rude and unprofessional. I witnessed a CNA taking the temperature of several residents with the same thermometer without a probe (no cover/sheet). Therefore there was cross contamination between several residents due to the thermometer not being covered properly. One of those patients had hepatitis c. I also witnessed a LVN tell a resident that maybe if she took her wig off her temperature wouldn't be so high. The patient began to cry. Patients are not being turned as scheduled so they are accumulating bed sores. Also there is no shower! The patients are not being bathed. I feel so bad for anyone that has to go endure the unpleasant experiences that Green ridge has to offer. read more

A place to die. After my dad had a head surgery at kaiser. He was refered to this place to recuprate the facilty recommended that we be present to povide care for my dad and when staff were asked for help they just ignore you. They have unhappy employees and clearly they just want the money but not the work. If you want to get rid of love one fast this is a place to be. read more

My family member will be discharged tomorrow from Greenridge after a knee injury that has required 2 1/2 weeks of rehab care. I have visited every day, so I've spent quite a bit of time around the facility. Overall, I've been struck by the way in which my family member's concerns have been listened to and addressed. The staff members have been people I've come to trust and rely on through this process, from the RNs who bring the medication, and pay close attention to blood sugar or pain levels, to the CNAs who do the bathing and cleaning, to the Physical and Occupational Therapists who provide the rehab training, and down to the lovely people who clean the rooms and set up the coffee station each day. No one chooses to go to a rehab or senior care facility. Each person who needs this kind of facility has come to it through misfortune or poor health. But the folks who work here every day come with a sense that they can listen, can assist, and can treat with dignity each patient who needs assistance. This is not to say that there are no problems. The quality of the food was pretty low, despite the efforts of the cooks. And the physical therapists and occupational therapists seemed to need to hack or alter all kinds of equipment to meet the varied needs of their patients. And the number of patients assigned to each staff member mean that waits can be long before needs are addressed. But as I think about the experience as a whole, there are so many people that I want to personally thank. The entire staff is working as hard as possible to meet the many needs of the patients they are assigned. And on the whole, they are enormously successful at doing it. read more

I have had two different family members stay at this place and both experiences were horrible. Their nurses were not very attentive to the patient needs, the front staff was rude and the doctors should have their licenses taken away. The patient negligence is unbelievable and unacceptable. They were terrible years ago and it obviously hasn't changed. I pray for the patients that need care and have to be sent to this shithole. read more

actually deserves no stars, i dont know about the nurses and the other workers but the receptionist definitely thinks she is the boss. when someone visits somewhere new a reception person is the first one who greets them and makes them feel welcome but here the story is something different. we got frowned at the whole time we were there. seriously you need to teach her some customer service. read more

I guess there's worse places you could be like the gutter the first three hours of experience in this place was no attention and everybody was on break and I had to take care of my mother's needs including bedpans and then basically they change your diapers twice a day and keep you medicated if there's any other way that you can take care of your family member you must do so this is no place you want to be to end your life but if all else fails I guess there are places that are worse . read more

Thank you greenridge senior care, my mother was a patient from 2-20-2013 thru 3-6-2013. I can't tell you how afraid she was to go. The staff and doctors were more than we expected. Kaiser sent my father to get him walking again but instead he was in bed most of the time he was there, he went to his rehabilitation session only twice a week. He couldn't use his because they hurt him si he couldn't feed himself or get water, no on checked on him to make sure he had foo and water. When I would go to visit his water pitcher didn't have water and he would drink a ton of water when I was there, I complained to the staff and they said they would handle it, well they didn't he had a stroke and they didn't want to call 911 to get him help. My father died because of this place not doing their job. This is no place for your love one to be. read more

My mother was sent to Greenridge as a result of a serious UTI. After admitting her things went downhill rapidly. Staffing is low, as a result a call to help my mother go to the bathroom takes 20 minutes for a response. When we told the staff she is not eating the Kaiser doctor (udini) tried to force feed her to the point she started to gag. Her feet where swollen, they did nothing . Things where so bad, we asked the Kaiser doctor to approve hospice, the doctors response was my mother did not meet the criteria of 10lbs weight loss. What? My mother is not eating, has swollen feet, can't walk and is in severe back pain. We asked about blood work . They said everything was normal. If they did they would of noticed elevated liver enzymes. After 10 days they released her. She went back to the hospital and was diagnosed with liver cancer that killed her 5 days later. The bottom line is Dr. Udini should be fired, and Greenridge should be audited by the state. Do not send your loved ones there. read more

The residents are a mix of ages and ethnicities, which I was looking for.The staff is outstanding. I never felt there was a shortage of attention available.The facility is clean and friendly and feels active during the day. They go the extra mile in finding stimulating activities for the residents, and they show real and compassionate interest in all those in their care. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! PERIOD! I am notifying the State Attorney's General's office to shut this place down, and notifying the Kaiser Foundation that this place and their care is the absolute worse we have ever experienced. The CEO of Kaiser is going to hear from me and my attorney. They discharged my father with falsified paperwork. Yes, I have a copy and a report from his Care Home that completely contradicts what is in the doctor's discharge paperwork. Get ready to pay me big time for your indiscretions and horrible treatment. Additionally, while we were there their nurses were not attentive at all. I asked repeatedly for care and was just brushed off. The doctor that was caring for him never called me or talked to me about his care. I only heard from the physical therapist who lied to me about his care. This place needs to be closed down and everyone terminated. Disgusting. read more
