say this reluctantly but: very horrible service recently…read more I brought in my car in to get assessed for a broken handle, they took the door apart w/o even asking my permission to 'assess' it. and if I didn't go with them then its $240+ to reassemble said door. blunder #1. also they originally had quoted $260 and it jumped to $460 on top of which. congradz you already lost yourselves a loyal customer. the professional thing here to do in this situation is ASK the customer to proceed. this misquote is bc one of their mechanics doesn't know what the hell they're even doing. pricing quotes fluctuates at any given moment. thanks for curing me of ever having considered using you guys in the past. hard lessons learned. if you're reading this try Sturdivant's auto in Chapel Hill instead. they're professional + will try to actually save you time + $$. don't use these guys if you have anything slightly serious unless you've got lots of money to burn.

I then took the car in last week to do the work. Got the car back and the problem is STILL there..... and suddenly my car drives heavier, like a truck and is heavy on gas. It was not like this before. I took it back today .... and the guy says....oh, seems they changed the routers and break pads on the BACK wheels in stead of the FRONT WHEELS, as I was quoted for. And..... politely informed me that they didn't cause the fact that my car handles completely different since I left them last week. So.... I asked him, seeing that you DID NOT change the routers and break pads in the front, as they were supposed to and admits that they did it in the back in stead of the front wheels. I told them to undo what ever they did and give me my money back so I can take my car to a different place. To which is I was given a snide patronizing NO. And apparently because his poor ego cant handle a WOMAN disagreeing with him about her car, and my voice was on the same loudness as his, I was asked to leave. What a load of BS. I will never recommend this place to anyone! They have no honor! $600 and 5 hours of my life GONE and nothing to show for it except MORE issues!

Yesterday I stopped by Jiffy Lube because they had forgotten to reset my oil light after my last…read moreoil change. While I was there I mentioned I had smelled a burning rubber smell recently so asked them to check it. They said it looked like my transmission was leaking so they referred me to Cottman's. I didn't know they normally require appointments so I just went in yesterday afternoon and explained the situation to the woman at the front desk. The owner was in the back and heard what I said and told her I needed to be moved to the front of the line. If I truly had a leak it was extremely flammable so he wanted them to immediately check it instead of sending me away to come back later because there was a chance my car could catch on fire and he didn't want to risk that happening. A mechanic immediately came and checked my car. After their inspection they said I had a few oil leaks, it wasn't my transmission and I could drive it without risk of it catching on fire. They referred me to the mechanic next door since they don't fix oil leaks there. While I didn't end up getting anything done, I really appreciated their sense of urgency and concern. The inspection they did was free which was nice. If I have any transmission issues in the future (which fingers crossed I don't) I would absolutely come back here.
