Their Harrogate Road shop is small if you're used to Comet but has a good range of products in stock and friendly and helpful staff - and it's nice to know you're supporting a small family business rather than helping stores such as Comet multiply like creepy pulsating blobs out of a naff alien horror film! Their products include washing machines, dryers, fridges, freezers, cookers, dishwashers and microwaves. They also offer a maintenance and repair service for most kitchen appliances, so they have in-depth knowledge about their products. They deliver free within Leeds and cheaply within the UK and their prices are very competitive.

Being a little local shop they also have to have reasonably competitive prices too, so even better - local, small and cheap! You can expect all kinds of standard white goods in here, washing machines, tumble dryers, dish washers, ovens, fridge freezers, gas and electrical cooker/hobs and more. As well as all those sorts of essential items they also stock a range of other handy electricals too. They had a range of heaters, at some really good prices, irons, kettles and many other similar items. I'm moving house pretty soon and having gone down the route of buying in super cheapo-break-in-six-months kitchen appliances I feel it might be time to try somewhere new for all those much needed things - I think I've found my place! Watch this space, an update will surely follow!

Despite this there was a 'needs must' situation whereby my boyfriend and I had just purchased a new king sized bed, as a result of this lots of new linen was required. Gah. It's not the most fun to find a bed for a bargain and then have to spend more on the sheets! But, with the wonderful help from the ladies in Yorkshire Linen I was not going to leave disappointed. I told her the things that we needed and the styles that I like and the budget. It was pretty much, from there, job done! She knew the store back to front and so took me straight over to a lovely inoffensive cream embroidered sheet, duvet cover and pillow cases. Perfect. Curtains we found a mili second later, some gorgeous brown flower printed velvet effect full length curtains. Beautiful. And finally, to match in with my duvet cover from home, the curtains and carpet, (yes, I gave in to it) we got some lovely brown and purple cushions - you know, to tie it all together... I mean, even though I didn't need the cushions, they do look pretty smart. Best of all the trip cost about two thirds of what it should have, she helped me to pick the sale items, and for the pain relief of the visit having only taken about 15 minutes or so, I was delighted. Perfect service, good prices and lovely stock. What more could you want?

(They might as well jump on the Christmas flogging wagon along with what seems like every other store in the world as soon as Halloween has passed) From the outside I thought it looked a bit tacky and naff (which most of it's stock was) but then I discovered the duvets. They had one of their discount duvets hanging outside its packaging for you to touch and wow at the softness of its pearly white skin. I touched. It was immense. I wanted to curl up inside the box along with all the other duvets and sleep like a baby. I had succumb to their 'interactive' marketing ploy. "I don't need a duvet!" I thought whilst obliviously reaching for my wallet in a trance....luckily I had no money. From cleaning products, kitchen items, DIY bits and bobs, cheap snacks, cards and so much more - they've got it covered. If you're a keen shopper/browser it's a veritable treasure chest to explore. My particular favourite is the upstairs section. Here's where the items get slightly less bargainous and become a little higher end... They've beds, lamps and all other kinds of home furnishings in a range of styles. Faux-antique right through to the more modern sleek look. I bought an awesome 'telephone box' lamp for my room at home, which is so kitsch and delightful and only set me back £15. (I can imagine it costing a ton more in a vintage shop!) My Mum was particularly overjoyed with a red painted vase that she picked up as well, of which they had many different shades! So, there's plenty to get excited about, and not too pricey as well. However, all that glitters is not gold. I did come away having purchased a few oil reed scent dispensers (the pots of oils with the wooden reeds) and they simply don't work at all. They were only a pound each, but I can see why they were so cheap as they give off no scent at all! Even so, I'm pleased as punch with my lamp so that more than makes up for it!

It was the first time I'd been in a shop which I cannot categorize by what it sells, IT SELLS EVERYTHING !! From bleach to crisps, rugs to xbox games, they have almost everything under one roof. The only thing I can say lets it down is a lack of electrical goods like TV's but if you're looking for a pack of brass tacks and a birthday card for auntie Mabel this is a good place to start........ and if you're feeling tired you can nip upstairs and pretend you're testing a bed out :)

I approached a male member of staff who was texting on his phone and politely asked if he was free to help me to which he replied not yet but will be shortly. I waited for approximately 10 minutes until he had finished texting at which point he completely ignored me and walked away to talk with one of his colleagues across the floor. I kept watching him to attract his attention but he would not make eye contact. After not being able to attract another member of staff we went to the till to ask. Another male member of staff proceeded to look up the item I had chosen on his phone and announced he had found it at a cost of £239 to which I replied it was advertised in store on special offer for £99. While he was still looking on his phone a young lady assistant arrived at the counter and she came to the fit bit section to advise me. She could not have been more helpful. I do not expect this store to last much longer with such rude male employees, the idea of being able to go to a store and discuss your needs before purchase is very desirable to me but not if the staff make you feel that you are a waste of space.

Upon entering the store I could see the few customers mulling around seemed suitably seen to by members of staff, one family sat at a computer were being seen to by 2. I located the range of tablets and was very interested in the Microsoft surface where 3 were on display. After a while of deciding I liked the product I then lapped the area trying to find a member of staff. Eventually I found a gentleman member of staff who I thought had finished speaking with a lady if he could help me buy a tablet. He said he was still dealing with a customer and avoided giving me eye contact whilst he said I'd have to wait. I thanked him despite finding it odd he didn't advise me towards anyone else. I spent another 5-10 minutes waiting around the laptops and wandered over to the iPads. When I wasn't seen to I circled the entire store and eventually found a gentleman at an information computer by the laptop cases. I approached and politely asked if he could help me purchase the tablet and showed him the offer that corresponded online. After the initially shrug of disappointment it was him I was actually speaking to he begrudgingly took the offer code from my iPhone and searched the product. Unable to come up with a reason why the same offer wasn't displayed he turned and spotted a college and marched over to the tablets shouting "shaz" to a fellow member of staff. I was left stood where I was. Presuming I should follow I was traded off on to now a third member of staff. When I explained I would like to buy a Microsoft Surface RT with a touch keypad but wanted to check the difference between the two shown online - one at £399.99 with free keyboard and the other at £479.99 inclusive of the keyboard. This new member of staff began searching his computer but stopped abruptly to pick up a boxed iPad on the side and shout to a 4th member of staff to store the box in the back, marching away and leaving me unanswered. I was about to walk out of your store when the 3rd member returned and eventually picked up a keyboard alongside the tablets and said he presumed one is fully boxed to include it and the other offer would come in two separate boxes. I said if that was the only difference for an £80 saving to have some additional packaging then I would like to buy one and in fact had £300 cash to put towards my purchase available. I was told to make my purchase online. In today's market and recession who, in their right mind, turns away a sale regardless of its high value!!! I am disgusted with the level of "service" I have received and left upset and disgusted in your store. Their posters advised as I left that their price promise is to beat Tesco, John Lewis & Argos. If they offer an ounce of customer service I would much prefer my money and custom were received by them!
