They charge per person entering the orchard ($14 per peck bag = 1 person; $28 per half bushel bag = 2 people). Having driven all this way it was as a no brainer to get the 2 half bushels. Being the first ones in the orchard was great, there were soooo many apples to pick and they were all so delicious! Weekends they have live reggae music, which welcomed us as we parked our cars. Don't forget about the apple cider donuts that were being made FRESH throughout the day for $8/half dozen or $15/dozen. I haven't had freshly made apple cider donuts in so long (near NYC it's always pre-made for who knows how long and a bit stale), this was such a treat!!! We're already planning our next drive up here later in the season for other types of apples!

The 4-H participants did a great job talking about their cows, sheep, goats, swine, horses and poultry. The donkey and draft horses are my favorites. The vendors are plentiful to purchase meals, snacks and drinks. We enjoyed fresh cut fries, hamburgers, hotdogs, fresh squeezed lemonade and cinnamon funnel cakes. Admission is reasonable and there were many musicians. We did not go to the midway as our days of going on rides is behind us. This a lovely family friendly fair. We look forward to next year!

It's evident that their success doesn't support their electricity bill because I could have benefited from a high lumen flash light to really take in the view. This under ground style place seems like a hipster, city style place I'd walk down a set of stairs to. The bar was cold in appearance, with a whopping four options of wine to try. Coincidentally there are four spots on your selection sheet for beers or wine.. same price which was $8. Maybe people come here for the beer. Maybe they don't know how to walk away without saying no thank you, but that's what I did. On to the next. Save your gas and cash.

A couple members of our group did not want to drink alcohol, but the staff was still very friendly and accommodating and brought them water at no additional charge. We were attended to by several folks and they were all very kind and the service was relaxed. There was no pressure to turn over the table, and we appreciated this as we are all old friends looking to catch up. We also brought in our food from Casa Reyes down the street, and they had no problem with this and even kindly disposed of our trash from the meals. Several folks at our table had the sangria and wine pours and I did the tasting. I was not particularly impressed with the wines and was not interested in buying them, but they were all drinkable and I was grateful to try them. The only major detracting factor of our visit was that there were a lot of fruit flies in the tasting area, which was rather unpleasant. I hope this was a one off and that they can control this in the future, because we would definitely return here.

Overall worth a trip to sit right next to the vineyards and enjoy some delicious wine.

Last autumn, I fully enjoyed my Beginning Oil Painting class at Saratoga Arts. Lisa David was very…read moreattentive and the facility was comfortable and spacious. I was very excited to rejoin this year's class and continue my oil painting journey. This year, I had a very different experience. The class has twice as many students (12) and our classroom is half the size. Because we have so many students in so little space, navigating from the door to my seat was a challenge (we had two students set up right at the classroom door blocking the entrance). It was difficult to set up our equipment, learn, and paint. Lisa tried hard to answer all our questions and check our work; she was only able to give us a fraction of the attention I experienced from my class last year. During the class, Lisa even expressed her irritation at the large class size. After my complaint to Kristin Langevin, she gave me many excuses and is adamant that they did nothing wrong, but she was willing to change us to a larger room. Nevertheless, the class size is still too big for one teacher. It just takes too long for Lisa to go around the room and give us meaningful and impactful feedback. Under current management, their focus seems to be maximizing revenue not quality of the class and they are not very interested in listening to student's feedback. It is sad that Saratoga Arts does not appear to be interested in providing quality Art education to the Saratoga community anymore.
