Perfection!
Vanessa Q.

Yoooo, this place is legit. How did I not know about this and it just 'round the corner from me?? I'm failing as a yelper! Guys, you just don't even understand yet. Three words: oats and honey *sigh* I really had no idea. Recommended to me by my friends, knowing I LOVE supporting small, local business, I was down and ready to go. Little did I know what was coming. HEAVEN. The dragonfruit bowl, literally to die for. I'm not going to say anymore so you can now be intrigued and venture over there yourself. Just word to the wise, get the dragon fruit bowl and Lime Ricki juice and then you can come back over and say thank you. LOL! Caution: it's addicting. The owner is super cool! From Cali, he has brought a incredible experience that Utah is definitely in short supply of. Organic fruits, freshly pressed juices...go ahead and take advantage of this legit and healthy experience and then tell me I'm wrong. Haha. Perfect for anytime of the day--lunch, dessert, date night, breakfast, post workout snack, dinner or even an on-the-go snack cause it's filling and soooo yummy and packed with vitamins and nutrients! Seriously, come back and tell me what you thought!

These are the best bowls I have ever had in my life! I spend a solid $100 a WEEK here I'm so obsessed! You have no idea- get ready for your life to change. I have made so many people come here to try their stuff. They absolutely crush it in terms of bowls and juices. I'm here at least 2-3 times a week! Get ready to be addicted!

My husband invited me here for lunch one day a few weeks ago and let me tell you, their bowls are so good that not only have I been back at least 6+ times but I have also got my co-workers addicted! Best açaí bowl I've ever had and trust me I've tried plenty! Very fresh organic ingredients from local suppliers! It's so yummy my baby won't let me have it to myself lol. 11/10 would recommend!!!

First, the bad. The prices are high and the selection is small. I attribute both to the fact that…read morein Ogden, there is a limited market of people looking for specialty foods in the area, so this is a necessity to stay in business. Now for the good: Good Earth is so helpful and knowledgeable. Also, they WILL not sell you an item simply to make money. They genuinely care about their customers and run their business to provide specialty foods to people that need them. We went to the store looking for gluten free chili powder. When we asked the manager, she came to the aisle with us and read the ingredients on the bottle. There was no gluten listed, but she went one step further and called every one of her distributors to double-check. Turns out that there is cross-contamination in the factories, and none of her chili powder products are gluten free. This saved us from potentially sickening a family member with Celiac Disease, so we were super grateful. Because of this experience, we trust the manager's knowledge and expertise in specialty foods immensely. Because of their integrity and willingness to help us out, we will spend our extra money there. We have been to other natural food stores in the area and experienced sales people who pushed specialty foods that weren't appropriate for our needs and supplements that were not properly researched. Now, in all fairness, a few of the books at Good Earth have advice and information that I would question, having done my own literature reviews of healthcare journals (but seeing that supplementation and naturopathy are not regulated, it should be the responsibility of the consumer to research what they purchase), but outside of that, by and large, this is the BEST and MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE natural food store I have been to. Double kudos because, as I stated above, they are not interested in selling products that will not fit their customers' needs, and will go above and beyond to keep their consumers safe. In our opinion, well worth the bit of extra money to help out a fantastic business in northern Utah.

They had a ginormous chair we could take photos in, so we took full advantage of that :) This little store is chuck full of food and items made locally. They have produce, candy, ice cream, soda, beer, lotions, coffee, dog treats, decor and everything in between. In the back they have a vending machine where you can buy Bingham Custom Meats bacon bombs. We haven't used it yet, but it looks so awesome! The employee there was a rockstar! She helped us figure out our candy bouquets and made them look awesome! The kids absolutely loved them and I think we're going to need to do this again. Harmon's has a little gem inside of their store that a lot of people do not know about. 4 years ago…read moremy mom passed away and my son's were pallbearers. My daughter was very young and very close to my mom, and I thought it might make her feel better if I got her a small corsage (since her brothers would be wearing flowers as pallbearers). I knew they had flowers so I thought I'd ask. That's when I learned that they do them all the time for dances, weddings, and yep - funerals. They made it small and pretty and it was perfect. They even cut me a discount because it was small. My daughter loved it. We dried it and she still has it in her keepsakes. So ever since then I have gone to them for all of my son's dance corsages. They let me pick what I want and they will bring all of the ribbons on a specific color out for me to choose what I want. One time it didn't turn out how I wanted, there was a confusion on the instructions. They were very kind and even though she was so busy getting all of her dance orders finished she took the time to make me a new one while I waited. The price is decent, they are generally $25 for a corsage unless you want extras, and they will do matching boutonnieres. This is cheaper than I've found from a few nearby florists and they really do a good job. They appreciate orders ahead of time, but the florist told me she always makes a few extras in dance days to keep in the display fridge for those last minute kids. :) I really like this florist. The flowers are easy on those high school kids' wallets, and they do a great job. I highly recommend them!

However, much of the products that our local grocers stock may also carry implications of poor farming practices. So, we try to shop local, both to ensure peak freshness and the highest ethical standard we can. Better Food Farm is a local, Ogden-based family farm using organic practices. We were lucky to try a large haul of a variety of their leafy greens (including herbs, spinach, red leaf lettuce, salad spring mix, spring onions, bok choy, and the most vibrant gorgeous radishes you've ever seen) this past week. If you think you won't be able to taste the difference between their spring mix and the kind in the plastic clamshells you get at the store, you'll be in for a serious surprise. Everything was incredibly flavorful. Also, there's something about fresh radishes that "conventionally" grown radishes can never live up to (I put conventional in quotes because, well, according to history, modern growing practices are anything but conventional). I swear you can taste all the passion and care this family puts into their produce. In speaking with the family behind this little farm, they're going to be at the Salt Lake City Farmers Market so I recommend that you look for them there.

The bakery selection is vast and from what I've tasted so far, very fresh and decently priced (friends at the brunch also enjoyed other items that I bought and some of mine as well ;+). For anyone into organic "wellness" shots, they have a wide variety of those and all appeared to be on sale for the moment (though I was in a hurry, so I cannot say for sure). The Vive shots were 2 for $5 which is actually a really good deal if you're into them. The seafood selection and produce looked appetizing along with a wide variety; definitely something I'll go back to in the near future to look at and purchase. Store was very clean. Employees that I dealt with were pretty friendly for the most part. It was fairly early in the morning so it wasn't too crowded and a quick "in and out" which is exactly what I wasn't looking for.

Overall the grocery store seemed to be very clean and organized. They had a fresh salad bar and soup can eat from. Lots of natural food choices and a big bakery. The only thing I didn't like is the person who served us was complaining publicly to the coworker. The cake was delicious though it wasn't like a homemade Italian tiramisu that our exchange daughter from Italy made but still worth every bite!
