I left her a message Sunday afternoon on my portal letting her know our truck broke down and I would not be able to make my appointment on Monday and asked if we could possibly do a Telehealth. She answered my message Sunday evening and was apologetic about our truck and said we could definitely do a Telehealth call. I have never had a Dr answer messages on a Sunday. She goes above and beyond. She is the kindest, caring, and most knowledgeable doctor I have ever had. My Provider had sent out five referrals for a rheumatologist and Dr. Kaplan was the only one that answered. I believe Dr. Kaplan was a God send. I highly recommend her.

She has been my rhuemy for two…read moreyears now and she is hands-down in my top three of best doctors I've seen in my life (probably #1, but it is hard to say because she keeps me out of pain so I am super biased). Dr. Kaplan was the last in a long line of specialists and misdiagnoses after a year of frustration and pain so bad that I was bed bound with it by the time I got in to see her. She got my diagnosis right on the first visit and has kept my pain absent to bearable for the last two years. She is very thorough; she does a physical exam on all of my joints at every appointment, she keeps excellent notes and follows up on them at every visit, and she is very responsive if you need to message her on the Vanderbilt portal. It is a shame to say, but getting a thorough physical exam from any doctor these days is a rarity in my experience. I feel super lucky to have found her, especially when I read stories about how people are treated (or not!) by their rheumatologists. The only drawback is the money, but the crappy American healthcare system is not Dr. Kaplan's fault. I have pretty good insurance and still pay around $400 out of pocket for each visit until I hit my deductible. If I recall correctly, my initial eval was around $800 so be prepared. Oh, her office staff, the lab staff and her nurse Kat are also great!

For many years now I've had unique sports and training related problems. I've been there for a wide range of issues like bursitis, inflamed tendons, and even early stages of arthritis. I've even had to do their PRP therapy once - and it was super effective to relieve severe pain in my heel area. We've also taken our son there for torn ligaments related to sports injury. I saw Tamera Pace for a general "check up" - she was so friendly and sweet and put me at ease. Blood work, EKG, etc. was all easy and timely. I have been diagnosed with several bone and joint related problems in my back that need surgery. I…read more previously had a lumbar laminectomy to help minimize pain. That surgery was performed by a surgeon in Las Vegas. That surgery was considered a minimally invasive surgery. However, it took me nearly 5 months to heal enough to return to work without significant pain. The bigger issue was that I had more issues post surgery than I did before. I developed numbness in both legs and down to my feet as well as having strong shocks down my legs. I was referred to Dr. Arthur Ulm to help me with this issue. He agreed I wad a candidate for surgery given the symptoms I was presenting. I had surgery 4 weeks ago, and feel like a million bucks! He did an amazing job! Not only do I have relief from the aches and pains of joint issues, but the shocks going down my legs to my feet are gone! I haven't had this much pain and discomfort relief in over 8 years. He knows what he's doing for sure. His staff was attentive and helpful to me and my wife. He was very communicative and prepared. I felt very comfortable gabbing this work done under his charge. I would recommend him for anyone asking about him. Very happy with the result!
