I've been going here for many years and I will continue going here. All the doctors are great and their receptionist are very friendly.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally dispute the bill I recently received for a brief dermatological procedure performed at your office. Before the appointment, I repeatedly requested a cost estimate, but none was ever provided to me. Because of this lack of information, I reasonably expected the charge for a simple ten-minute procedure to be in the range of approximately $250. I was therefore absolutely shocked by the amount ($523.00) you are now billing me. Had I been informed of the actual cost beforehand, I would have made a more informed decision about proceeding with the treatment. I DO NOT recommend this office. read more

I regularly see Dr. Erik Schten to inspect my skin, and treat areas of concern. I've had skin damage due to sun exposure over the years, and Dr. Schten's care has been first class! Please do not go here. Do not get Moh's surgery form Dr. Peng. His method is to go fast and take more skin than necessary in order to speed up the process for him. He is not here for his patients. read more

I have been seeing Dr Greenberg for my psoriasis for many years. Like some of the reviews say, this isn't a posh cosmetic derm office. It's a general derm office. The doctor sees lots of patients and does't spend a lot of time bsing with his patients. He is a great diagnostician and has helped me understand and treat things that other doctors have not been able to identify in the past from shingles to poison oak. Personally I would rather go to someone who can help me resolve my issue effectively every time than someone who spends more time with me or has a really nice office and is trying to sell me Botox and liposuction. If you are looking for touchy feely maybe this isn't the place for you, if you want a treatment that works, I'd recommend him read more

What an incredible disappointment. I was referred to Dr. Greenberg by a friend's dermatologist in SF for botox. I had never had it done before so went with an open mind. Aside from the fact that he appears to be somewhat hard of hearing, he did a botox treatment on my upper brow and around my chin. A week later, I saw zero results. I went back to him to let him know that I just spent a lot of money and saw nothing, and he basically said "if you don't like what you see, maybe you shouldn't have done it!" Charged for procedure which was not performed. Call and talked on numerous occasion my insurance company as well as to his billing department only to be denied. I filed a formal complaint/appeal to my insurance with no luck. I requested from insurance company for full explanation of the codes used for the charge. That procedure under that charge was not performed, but it was my word vs their word and insurance sided with the doctor (because patient can't possibly read or understand what procedure was performed ha!) . Would not come here again. If you do make sure you ask for 1) Codes that will be used that day so you are clear what procedure is he performing and charging for. 2) Ask for it in writing signed by the doctor. I was a little skeptical about this office due to some of the bad reviews but after a highly recommendation by another doctor I decided to go. I called on a Thursday and the receptionist was very friendly and told me that Dr. Goldberg had about a one month wait, after I explained that it was a little bit of an emergency she was able to fit me in the next day to see Dr. Peng! When I arrived a little early they got me right in, he was very friendly knew exactly what was wrong and what needed to be done to fix it. I was in and out in around 10 mins which I was excited about! I feel bad for this office after reading some of the reviews, it sounds like some of the people had very unreal expectations on what an office visit is lik and feel that using this site to try and tarnish a Dr. reputation. I would and will definitely recommend my friends and patients to Dr. Peng's office for his thoroughness and efficency. read more

Attempted to book an appointment with Dr. Greenberg and failed due to the rude receptionist. She could not even take my name without speaking over me and interrupting and put me on hold after throwing a fit. read more

Dr. Greenberg has been my dermatologist for going on 4 years. When I came to his office I had a terrible fungal infection on the top of my hand from the work i did, at the time. Dr greenberg worked tirelessly to find a solution and make sure it was not a cancer, along with my hand I was dx with plague psoriasis and again Dr . Greenberg has worked tirelessly to find the right medication that would make it even bearable to have people see my hands. I am very happy with the care I have recieved, and the staff is very helpful and professional. read more

I recently saw Dr. Greenberg for surgery to remove a basil cell from my chest. Once I got seated he was speaking to his assistant and asking about the photographs that they took prior to the biopsy, so they could locate the area to perform the surgery. I heard his say "I guess that was the day there camera was not working". He proceeded to perform surgery not really knowing if he was removing the target. To make matters worse, he and his assistant talked the entire time I was in the office during the procedure. I have never experienced this kind of unprofessionalism. I intend to file a complaint with the appropriate medical board. By the way several of the stitches broke after about a week and I had to see another doctor to treat. Obviously I wasn't going back to have him fix it. Never again. read more

Dr. Joseph Greenberg is the best doctor I have ever had. I asked him, decades ago, if he would be my primary care doctor, because he is such a good detective. Thirty years ago, he was my first doc who figured out that I had high cholesterol -- because of a skin thing on my eye. And indeed it has been a major factor in my health. I first went to him for a dark spot on my lip, which he biopsied without fuss. Before I knew it, he had sent it to the lab. I had a freckle that looked just like every other freckle on my body that Dr. Greenberg recognized as melanoma. He caught it so early that it was still "in situ" and what could have killed me elsewhere has never given me another problem. He tells me that I can see him as frequently as I'd like for body scans, even just to reassure me. He was solicitous when I had a serious non-skin cancer and gave me a lot of information, always asked me about my labs. I think these three people with negative reviews of Dr. Greenberg may have caught him during the period of time he himself had a serious cancer. Dr. Greenberg has been named to the list of 500 best doctors in the country year after year. He will probably retire in not too long, though I am amazed at how responsible he feels to keep working for his patients. read more

Dr Greenberg is ok....the office is small and cramped and the appointments are usually very very short. My husband had not even had time to fill out the paperwork and the dr had come and gone...less than five minutes on a new patient. His manner and explanation leave a bit to be desired. read more

I had been an infrequent patient of Dr. Greenberg's seeing him or his associate for the procedure of Sclerotherapy. This time when I saw him he was curt and after he finished he left me to clean and bandage myself unlike other offices where the nurse always comes in after to wash the blood away and properly bandage the injection sites. Within a month my broken veins had extended far beyond the original site giving the impression of a bruised and mottled leg looking so much worse than the condition I came in to remedy. I sought out other physicians for advice and they patiently explained that there were risks to this procedure and there was a good chance the unsightly result of my office visit to Dr Greenberg will remain. If Dr. Greenberg had explained the risks to me, I would have opted out for who needed to take the chance and come out of it with irremediable results. I called his office and spoke with his office manager who was kind and responsive. I let her know that I believed a refund was appropriate. When Dr.Greenberg called me back he let me know right away that if I was asking for my money back "it wasn't going happen". He never even suggested that I should come into the office and have a look at my leg, only surmised my condition by my symptoms. He ended the call telling me there was good cover ups on the market these days! read more

A few months ago, I had an appointment with Dr Greenberg for a check up and to remove some spots on my legs. He seems very hurried and short. During the spots removal treatment, I experienced severe discomfort. That evening I developped blistering and an infection began the following day. So, I return to the office and I was informed that he would be out of the office for the entire month. The only suggestion they had was to see another doctor the following day. I decided to show the infection to my primary doctor, because it was getting worse and I was in a lot of pain. I was put on antibiotics for 10 days. I wrote Dr Greenberg a letter explaining everything but I never heard back from him. When I receive his bill, I wrote a second letter, because I didn't feel that I should have to pay for this treatment. Finally, he called me, explaining very briefly that this could happen and I have to pay ! After all of this, I paid for a treatment that left me with permanent scaring. read more
