My husband and I have both been patients of Dr. Kane. She is kind, patient, and knowledgable. I had an IPL, Fraxel and Botox treatment and it was fantastic from start to finish. She listened intently to my concerns (it was my first time for all treatments), provided fantastic treatment and then followed up me afterwards to make sure all was well. My husband was a patient of Dr. Kane earlier this year. We had gone to other doctor's to try to figure out what was going on and we finally found Dr. Kane to be so knowledgable and thorough. If you're expecting prompt and on time service, look elsewhere. I was seen nearly an hour late and the staff was unapologetic, almost dismissive and arrogant about the whole thing. It had been many years since I'd been to a dermatologist, having opted for med spas after frustration with dermatologists I'd seen. Dr. Kane had more answers and solutions to my questions and issues than any doctor ever before. She was the most knowledgeable dermatologist I've ever seen and you can tell she cares. Skin health is definitely her passion. Her assistant was great to work with, too. Dr. Kane is incredibly knowledgeable and so passionate about skin! I saw her for my acne + acne scarring. She prescribed me a medication for the hormonal blemishes I get on my chin and recommended I incorporate a vitamin C serum in my regimen. I also wanted to get a peel done and she recommended the perfect 10 peel. My skin peeled for about 3 days after my visit and on the 4th day my skin was just glowing! The hyperpigmentation from my acne was nearly gone. I got another peel about 2 months later because I had such great results from the first one. I really appreciate Dr. Kane - she's super nice and she really listened to my concerns! My skin looks so much healthier now and I no longer have to deal with painful acne. read more

Was really excited to visit Dr. Kane after reading all of the great reviews on here. My appointment was at 10AM. She came in at 10:01 and walked out at 10:11. Ten minutes. That was the entire consultation. I went in for acne. I had terrible cystic acne many years ago but my skin cleared up. I've been having a few flare ups the past three months so I thought I'd visit a derm. She sat down and I immediately tried explaining my history with acne, food I eat, products I use (anything that I felt is relevant to skin issues) and she wasn't interested. She just stared at me and then said "So I think that your only option here is Accutane. If not, you're going to have permanent scarring for the rest of your life." What?! Accutane is extremely powerful and a good derm will use it as a last resort due to all the negative side effects that can occur. Like I mentioned previously, I've had terrible acne in the past, and my old derm didn't even recommend Accutane and now I have a few breakouts and Dr. Kane thinks it's my only option? After telling her I wasn't interested in this recommendation, I felt her become standoff-ish. She threw out a few other names of topical creams and antibiotics without explaining what they were for and why she was recommending them. Then, she left. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or not, but this experience was the complete opposite of everything else I read in the reviews. I'm extremely disappointed, and would highly recommend going somewhere else for anything acne related. read more

I experienced acne for most of my teen years. I tried almost every over the counter remedy available with no success. Dr. Kane was the first doctor to finally listen to my pleas for something other than topical treatments. This was very important due to my need for something with an easy regimen that I would actually adhere to. She explained in great detail the benefits and serious side effects of Accutane. She was with me every step of the way in securing the most effective generic (for significant cost savings and ability for my insurance to cover) as well as suggesting multiple products to help combat the side effects. I luckily did not experience many of the side effects except for extremely dry lips, which would would have been painful had it not been for a specific medicated chapstick Dr. Kane suggested. In fact, I still use this chapstick to this day! She made the whole process extremely easy, and I was thrilled to finally see positive results. Had it not been for her recommendation, I might have dealt with the problem much longer, and spent more money on processes that wouldn't have worked as well. Most other doctors at the time were not very open to the idea of Accutane, but she did the research on the product and throughly explained every detail of the process. I saw her for routine matters, but could tell she cared. She even followed up with me afterward having thought about things a bit more, and provided me with some more advice & insight - she said she was just being cautious, but I appreciated the fact she cared enough to keep me informed.
