When the transmission in my car went out I told my insurance company to call 1st Class Towing, even though it wasn't fully covered by my plan. I knew I could trust this business and the small out of pocket cost was worth it. Although the insurance company said it would be an hour, Dan was there in 20 minutes. I rode with him to the repair shop to pick up my loaner, and we talked dirt track racing the whole way. A big thanks to the Parker police officer who also waited with me as I broke down during school drop-off time and was completely in the way. FYI folks - I wasn't sitting on the wrong side of the road for fun. Man, some of those peeps were mean! Thanks to all who helped this "damsel in distress" get taken care of.

I will say that I feel genuinely horrible but I own it... I was a cranky cat when I got the call…read more Ok, here's the actual story. I have a 2013 ridiculously tiny car (Scion IQ). I went decades owning a vintage car because I could...I did not really have a commute and I worked a lot on my car myself. So, back in the day I was constantly manually charging my battery etc. Cars are a totally different animal these days - they are most a computer on wheels and modern cars have much different "issues" as a result. My point is...like with most things...I know nothing! And, like with most situations - I want to believe I know all of the things plus, I'm a girl. Let's be honest ladies - we get used to rolling our eyes as the car salesman or service person assumes we do not even know how to check the oil in our car or know what an alternator is let alone accept the fact that I would be fixing my car by myself and not need anyone's help. I already put in my time back then when I didn't mind being covered in oil working under the hood. Now, just work...seriously, I turn the key - you turn off and on. When you hurt, give me the check engine light - I bring you to a person, they fix you. Last week I was getting a weird lag while starting the car...but then it seemed to stop and my car was acting normal...until it was dead. I parked in my driveway for the weekend since I am doing my part to work on house projects and staying mostly home. I do shopping for me and another isolated friend at Costco on Sundays shortly before they close to avoid people (I do that on a good day let alone during a pandemic). I hop in my car with my trusty list and not even a click click. A turn turn and a whole lot of nothing...oh, well that's fun...because it is 630pm on a Sunday evening. After having a mental freak out, I message my friends who live nearby to even see if someone can come get me...friend 3 out of 3 says yes, she can come give me a jump start. I called O'Reilly's. They are open until 8pm BUT they say that they do not have anyone there who can assist me to install a battery. Everything else is closed....FINE! I message friend 2 out of 3 who says that they can come over first thing in the AM to jump start my car with my little cables. The cables are brand new and I just jump started my neighbor across the street a few weeks ago so it is confirmed they work. My logic is that I will avoid hounding a roadside person when my friend lives close by. She comes over and we give it a solid go but nothing at all happens....which, in my mind, means that it is something more complicated. Yet, it makes little sense since I JUST got my tune-up done at one of the best service centers around and I take good quality care of my car. With Covid-19, getting into a lot of shops is challenging. It's already frustrating enough getting cars serviced. I called and got an appointment and got a friend to drive me into work and then reach out to roadside for a tow to the service center. And that's where All Time Towing came into play - they were assigned by roadside assistance. I wait my hour... I see an unknown phone number calling and am annoyed because of the car and I just want all this done etc - I had made a mental plan with the whole jump start which was thwarted so I was just annoyed and worried also because I am thinking I will have to pay out crazy money to get this fixed. So I start out with attitude and he was completely perfect...just ignoring me. To be fair, he's probably dealt with a ridiculous amount of crazy. He was calm and friendly but confident - not cocky at all...just really nice and I was still on with the attitude problem. He was asking probing questions about jump starting it etc.... I am thinking well duh (but seriously - most people do not know or try any of these things)... He explains that the normal small jumper cables are many times completely ineffective and let's try to jump it again with his tools because it really does sound like the battery. He gets there.... 5 seconds later and the car starts right up with his hand held magic saving me time, money and my last nerve. He was completely right...had not remotely spoken down to me at all and was seriously, so friendly and amazing even with me giving him attitude. Thanks to him I was able to get my car down the street and get that battery replaced no sweat.
