It's a very small campus (just one building) so everything is easy to find. There is a parking lot and parking is free, which is great! All the rooms are numbered including the bathrooms in case you get lost. The campus is "fragrance free" which is a new concept for most colleges and I love it. They have a big lecture hall as well as smaller classrooms. All the rooms and seats were quite comfy. I didn't see a cafeteria, but there is a A&W, a Baskin Robbins, and Southern Foods restaurant that are about a 10 min walk away.

Everything here is pretty much walking distance. The book store was just re-located to the other end from her dorm. It's a little farther now but you get used to the walk eventually. Students have their own parking structure where you got to pass through a guard shack first to get in. Right below that is the field, very nice and modern. They have a nice cafeteria. They also have a laundromat in the basement and a convenient store that sells pretty much everything the students need. From her dorm room on a clear day you can see Mt. Rainier and pretty much everything. I am so glad I had the opportunity to checkout the school my daughter's attending. I feel safe for her in knowing that transportation getting around is easy with so many different options. I recommend this school for any student attending college.

The experience I had at McKnight was the reason I hated school so much. As someone with a good…read moreacademic standing from middle to high school, I reserve the right to say that many of their staff were authoritative red guards and unqualified to teach. The rules are highly restrictive and the school has too many policies, resulting in rebellious and hateful attitudes towards the administrative staff. You're not allowed to use your phone at ANY time of the day including lunch and you are required to be seated at all times in the cafeteria. No student is allowed to carry a backpack or bag of any kind, so they are required to use their locker or carry by hand. You are not allowed to have bags or any school materials during lunch. Their programs are terrible and lacking in advanced STEM courses to prepare for high school. It's ironic how they hang up posters that display, "failure is not an option" because at McKnight, failure is on their agenda.

I don't have personal experience to be a student here, so I can only comment on what I have seen and what my friends (parents of students there) tell me. All my friends, as parents, and their children, as students, are quite happy with this school. Other than being well known for their academics, I am also very impressed with their extracurriculars. They offer a wide variety of sports, theaters, and clubs of every type. They even have a chicken coop. My friends' daughters participate in swimming, wrestling, choir, theater, and more. In particular, my friend told me despite their reputation for academics, they don't push the college path for their students. The students are encouraged to choose - college or not. For this visit, we went to watch their drama group's "Urinetown" production. It is an impressively edgy story for a high school production. Apparently, the drama teacher wanted something very opposite of their previous production, which was the family friendly "Seussical". The students choose drama class as an elective. They can choose to be performers or be in the tech team. Some of these kids can sing very well! The sets are very good, too. Their theater is quite nice, too. Bathrooms are just outside the theater.
