Amy and her coffee were wonderful. We were on a road trip in our van and had run out of coffee beans. We bought an expresso and a mocha (delicious) and she sold us some beans (also delicious) so we could continue on with quality caffeine. There is not much along this stretch of I70 in Utah and this place is worth going to Green River. **no drip coffee - smart business choice on the owners part saying that it's not ordered much. Fantastic espresso. I tried the chorizo breakfast burrito. It was delicious and big enough to be breakfast and lunch. The owner/ operator Amy was charming and welcoming. She is also an excellent source of local knowledge to find the perfect hike or back country experience. The shop feels like you've stepped into a really interesting and cool friend's house, with lots of comfortable places to sit and joy your coffee, books to read, and interesting artifacts of local culture and history. It's just a minute off of Hwy 50, and well worth it. Skip Starbucks, skip the truck stops. Go straight to the Green River Coffee, Co. look for the sign with the vulture drinking coffee. read more

I was an out of state visitor, camping in Green River. I was the only morning customer in this coffee shop. Interesting decor and cozy space. The latte coffee was good, but a bit strong for me. The owner/barrista could have been more friendly to me, a newcomer. A smile and eye contact would have been a nice welcome. read more

I just discovered the reply to my review and realized I probably need to be more specific. We stopped at this coffee shop on a drive from the west coast to Denver. It was pretty far out of the way but there aren't many coffee options before or after so we took the chance. This was in June, 2021....when Green River was still serving food. I'll just share the specifics I remember....as they've stuck with me since it was pretty unusual lol. This was just after the mask mandate had been lifted so many stores still had outdated "wear a mask" sign. We had just opened the door when the woman behind the counter yelled "excuse me! read the sign!". So we quickly went back outside and put on our masks. Then when we went up to order she was cold. When I asked if it was possible to get the breakfast burrito without the tortilla she interrupted me to say, "we have what's on the menu". I apologized and ordered the breakfast burrito and black coffee. A few months later I was making the same drive and saw the sign for the coffee shop. That's when I wrote the review. Because I think it would be helpful for people to know before they drive that far out of their way for rude service and mediocre coffee/food. It's probably a great place for the locals and if you have a relationship with the people who work there. Probably not the best for people passing through. read more

Food and coffee was great, especially for a trip out of moab. The inside was really fun, even thou it was closed because of covid. The reason for my 3 is because of the staff. Coffee here was pretty bad... ordered a cappuccino, and it tasted similar to a Dunkin' Donuts capp (ie not good), but even worse! The barista actually had another employee make it as a lesson... but I think it was her first time, as she had to explain to her what a cappuccino was. I can't believe they served that drink to a paying customer. My friend ordered a iced mocha, which apparently just taste like chocolate milk. read more

Yucky coffee. I ordered a large vanilla latte and it was ready almost immediately. The bad news... it tasted like steamed milk. The color of it was actually nearly white. I couldn't taste any espresso or even vanilla. It was a total rip off at almost $6 for some steamed milk. I can't imagine there was more than one shot in there if any at all. I will never stop by here again on my way through. Extra star for the atmosphere and the service was friendly. Otherwise, hard pass. read more

We were driving through our way back to California with our dog. Trying to find a place that was dog friendly can be difficult. Green River Coffee is dog friendly and the lady (I'm assuming the owner) has her own very sweet 16 year old dog, roaming the place. We were able to bring our blind dog into the coffee shop. The banana muffin was quite good and would have been even better if I had time to let them heat it. I just didn't like how the new employee was being treated. I'd passed through Green River a few times and had written off finding any decent coffee here besides McDonalds -- that's what I get for not checking yelp! On a drive back from Grand Junction, I really needed a coffee and was steering myself for gas station coffee. Luckily, I saw this place on yelp and took a chance. The place is really funky and the coffee was quite good! I really loved the eclectic vibe of the whole coffee shop - I was so surprised to find this in rural Utah. I'm glad to know this place exists for future drives in eastern Utah. read more

Stopped by fir coffee and breakfast on our drive to Snowmass, Colorado. Visited during COVID and was impressed with their enforcement of social distancing and masks and overall it was a positive experience. Staff helpful and professional. Sadly due to COVID they seemed to have a severely limited menu so it is hard to review them - but they did have a good latte and espresso and a delicious muffin. Overall good experience and a good stopping point for caffeine. read more

We stopped here between Capitol Reef NP and Arches NP for some coffee and a small bite to eat. Upon entry, this place has some major character - cute things in the walls and board games to be played. Huge bummer that the sitting area and gift shop was closed due to covid. The bags of coffee beans available to take home gave us high expectations of the drip coffee but it was sub par. The cappuccino was really, really good. We were impressed! We also got an Asiago bagel that was perfectly toasted and had just the right amount of cream cheese. The service was also pretty great - the barista made sure there was distance between customers and everything. We stayed in Green River for a month so my fiancé and I got to come here a few times, and the coffee was amazing every time. The atmosphere inside is great as well and super cozy. There are a lot of poor reviews about the service and here's my take on it, I like that the owner opens when she wants to, she doesn't feel the need to suck up to tourists, and I respect that. There's a lot of businesses in smaller towns that share this type of attitude and I respect it. Get your coffee, be polite, and move on. I hope we get to come by again. read more

This place exceeded my expectations. They offer crepes with fresh berries and the berries this morning we're blueberries. They were good but the reason I gave the 4 stars was because of their Fiesta Browns. Wow, what a fantastic and unique dish with green chilies. It has some heat but it was a great blend of eggs, hash browns, cheese & chilies. I could eat this once a week. It's a quirky little place with a laid back feeling. If i could leave less than 1 star i would! The lady was aggressive as I had my mask on but she wasn't able to hear me order so pulled my mask away from my face (still having it on) so she could hear me clearly. The worst thing about it was the hypocrisy. When I came back (after she told us to wait outside when clearly there were others sitting at tables) she had her mask down past her nose after it was either her son or someone came to ask her for me how much longer for the food. He wasn't wearing a mask either. There were others inside not wearing a mask and didn't have any food in front of them. Kinda funny she allows her dirty dog to run around in the restaurant but yet she's so uptight about masks and making us wait outside while others are allowed to be inside. The owner Amy, is a sad case. Came here for a chai latte and was given a cup full of chai flavored foam. She has a pretentious attitude that set the atmosphere from the beginning of our entry into her shop. She figured we were outsiders so she continued bagging on other people in town (I assume) and told us where to go and where not to go. We specifically went to the hotel she told us not to go to and come to find out, Amy has been like this for decades. Hotel owner showed me a New York Times article where Amy was (again) bagging on their family when she knew nothing about them. Just gross behavior. I have been here many times - The coffee is good, but the food is a bit expensive and not worth the price. The main barista behind the counter is usually grumpy (and it's sad to expect that every time I visit). This time around, she was very rude and definitely not helpful when I asked if I could have a turkey chipotle wrap, but substitute the turkey for chicken. She rolled her eyes and put it in, for a medium latte and my wrap it was $18. read more

WORST coffee shop ever. While road tripping to Denver, Colorado my boyfriend and I made a stop here as we were desperate for some coffee and there weren't many services around let alone some good coffee. I came across this location on the gps and we decided to try it out and I really wish we would have just kept driving. Upon arrival the place seemed fine however the service was so poor. I proceeded to the register and felt pressured to order quickly even though there was no line behind my boyfriend and I. I explained to the employee who was a woman and the only one working the place that I wanted a house brew and before I could finish my sentence she immediately started to pour hot coffee into a cup without asking me what size. I told her I wanted their house brew iced and she responded by saying "you should have said that". After she poured the cold brew I asked if she could add oat milk because she didn't ask me if I wanted syrup or milk/creamer. She rolled her eyes and set down the oat milk aggressively, I felt as if I inconvenienced her by even coming in and ordering. I lastly asked if she could add three pumps of hazelnut in both coffees and at this point she had added so much ice and liquid that the cup was about to run over and she looked at me and said "YEAH AGAIN, I really wish you had said that before" but I never had the opportunity to explain my order before she rushed it and tried to be two steps ahead of me. I paid for the coffees and left. To say the least it was the worst coffee I've had in my entire life. I'm a long time coffee lover and I am always excited to try new coffee shops and this was a horrendous experience all around! The service was horrible and the coffee tasted similar to cardboard and dirt. I would never come here again and would recommend to anyone passing through this town to avoid this place at all costs. (EDIT: same day posted) Amy the common denominator between the negative reviews of your coffee shop is you and your attitude.
