I love a tasting menu, and a showcase of a chef and kitchen's talents. This is the perfect type of thing to highlight the pride and creativity of Mexican cuisine; you are in one of the greatest food cities in the world. The interior is like a comfy Mexican study. The staff is attentive and considerate; generous with their recommendations and hospitality. They even called to give us some instructions cause of a protest across the street at the Venezuelan embassy for easier access. Our courses were absolutely delicious. My wife and mother-in-law got the 6-course tasting menu and I went with the 9. If you like a tasting menu or want to introduce someone to the experience, Raiz does not disappoint. The amuse bouche is one of my favorites, cause I love looking at people's faces when they get such a small appetizer. I am not going to post all of the dishes here, cause part of the experience is the sensory look of the plates, but I will say the pork belly and escamole were two of my favorites. I will also say that the tasting menu portions were generous. If you're celebrating a special occasion or want to dip a toe into all that CDMX has to offer, give Raiz a try - they are wonderful.
