What a great company of competent, friendly and honest professionals…read more Every homeowner knows or at least should know to never let a tree get too close to your house. Unless you want racoons, squirrels or worse in your house with you. The trees next to my house were touching and way too high up and near the power line to my house to cut myself, plus I had a huge tree in my backyard that was concerning me. So I called in professionals. I was all set to get multiple quotes and called in two companies, Fremgen Bros and another Monday. Fremgen Bros said they could come that night after I got home from work, the other would come Tuesday. I booked them both. When Michael and his brother showed up Monday I was very impressed by both their politeness, their down to Earth demeanour and most of all their honesty. Plus, they are a local company. I showed them the trees that needed trimming and the big tree that I thought might cost me thousands to remove. They checked out the trimming duties up front and headed to the backyard. They looked over the tree and explained what would be a problem and what they are looking for as a sign of a problem. Seepage. They did find seepage and showed me a few things that could be a concern in the future, but told me this is normal and the tree is healthy and safe. I was so happy to hear that, but what really impressed me is they could have told me a lot of things that would have had me open my wallet wide and beg them to take, instead they were HONEST. They quoted me a very reasonable price for the work I needed to be done, I instantly accepted and asked when could they begin. Thursday was the day and here it is Thursday and they did the work. I could not be happier or recommend them more highly. I know. that this is the tree company I will use again and again if needed and I will recommend them to anyone who wants to hear it. Please give them your business. They deserve it.

He also put in a rock swale on the edge of the fence and as a result the hurricane hit in 2021 and we barely noticed. Our yard was stable and dry while neighbors on both sides were flooded and eroded. All of his staff were extremely professional and neat and there were no surprises on the costs. Everything is fully grown out and Danny has stopped by a few times to make sure everything was growing in nicely. They did the leaf cleanup for us this past season and left everything spotless. The town building inspector was impressed with how well they handled the slope. To the point of some of the other reviewers, yes, sometimes you have to wait if you want the best people but it's worth it.

Cannot say enough terrible things about this landscaping company. I found them on Rockland mommy…read morefacebook page a few people mentioned them, I should have read further, that is where I failed. From the beginning they were terrible with business care- phone calls unanswered - yes I actually received call backs from others who were booked so a call back is the least that can be done. To the down right disrespect. Danny- who was albeit knowledgeable and seemed nice enough. He showed up 20 minutes after the window he was said to be arriving, I had to confirm myself to make certain he was still in fact coming. No phone call for that either I guess they just don't take their business seriously OR they just don't need the business or my money. But don't waste my time! He mentioned our wasn't large and that the job was relatively simple a few hours or so within the next few days. I had someone with me who I had to double check with when they told me two days later, "you're new here, I know you don't understand, but us getting to you in two weeks is a gift!" I don't need a gift I need to deal with a good reputable business man and his receptionist. Who in fact do not lie. Our quote for clean up was INSANE, they apparently just did what people do when they dont need the business and quoted me an astronomical price for yard clean up and weed removal. I went with someone else for this. The grass was taken care of by them and the quote they gave me in fact did not include tax! Why would the price not be clear from the start? It seems nothing about this company was clear honest or present. I am sure people love Danny but this entire experience was far from the warm welcoming that should hav been prompted. Lastly, I own a small business and if I treated people the way I was treated by this company I would not blame clients for canceling or not showing up!. I asked them not to return after 6 lawn cuts because to be frank even those for my "small area" were sub par.

They showed up as scheduled despite an intense thunder/lightning storm; they waited until there was no more lightning danger and worked in the rain until dark to remove two huge trees next to my house. They returned with the stump grinder early the next morning to eliminate the stumps, remove the large trunks from the previous day, prune a number of other trees, chip the smaller limbs and cut the larger ones into firewood-sized logs for me, and then did an incredible job cleaning up my roof and yard. They also laid down plywood on my lawn to protect it from the heavy equipment. All this for a price that was 60% lower than the highest quote I received and only slightly more than than lowest quote (from a company that didn't have the same stellar ratings as Woodland and wouldn't have been able to do the work for 2 more months). Very friendly owner, receptionist, and overall staff. I couldn't be happier with the level of service they provided.

I genuinely cannot recommend JKR Construction highly enough. They are one of those rare contractors…read moreyou find and then never want to use anyone else. My experience with them actually began years before my full roof replacement, when I had a leak that had been an ongoing problem for years. Other contractors were telling me I would need to replace my skylights and spend thousands of dollars. JKR came out, correctly identified where the water was actually getting in, and fixed the problem without trying to sell me work I didn't need. That repair never leaked again. They saved me thousands of dollars then, and their honesty was the reason they were the first people I called when my roof eventually reached the point that it truly needed to be replaced. The full roof replacement only reinforced how much I trust them. Joe was completely upfront about what my roof needed and what the job would cost. Their proposal included the extensive plywood replacement my roof required rather than giving me an attractive initial price and then surprising me with thousands of dollars in additional charges once the roof was opened. Their pricing was extremely fair and, more importantly, transparent. The skylights are another perfect example of the kind of company JKR is. This time, the two skylights really did need to be replaced, but the existing openings were not standard sizes. Custom replacement skylights would have been extraordinarily expensive. Instead of simply passing that enormous cost on to me, Joe and his team figured out a way to rework the openings so that standard-size skylights could be installed. That solution alone saved me thousands and thousands of dollars. It's exactly the kind of problem-solving and consideration for the homeowner's money that I have come to expect from them. The workmanship and work ethic of the entire crew were exceptional. Alberto and the crew were incredible. They were here every day, worked incredibly hard and often worked late. This was a major project, including replacing a tremendous amount of plywood, and they used high-quality materials throughout. They protected my property during the work and cleaned up meticulously, even coming inside to clean dust that had settled from all the work being done above. They were equally wonderful about the gutters. There was a particular issue with how the front of my house needed to drain, and I really did not want a downspout placed where the obvious solution would have put it. Rather than telling me that was simply how it had to be done, they listened to me, worked through the problem, and pitched everything properly so that it functioned without compromising the appearance of my house. But what distinguishes JKR most for me is trust. I have dealt with enough contractors to know how difficult that is to find. Joe and his team have had multiple opportunities over the years to tell me I needed expensive work, add costs once a project began, or take the easiest solution. They didn't. Instead, they have repeatedly found ways to save me money while still doing the job correctly and using quality materials. I have already recommended JKR to friends and family, and I will continue to do so. I honestly would not trust anyone else with my roof. If I could give them more than five stars, I would.
