I was verbally harassed and subjected to homophobic slurs by a security guard employed by Culture…read moreCannabis Club at the gas station across the street. After what appeared to be a minor parking lot misunderstanding, the guard screamed insults at me, called me a "F@GGOT", and threatened to spit in my face. About 20 minutes later, I arrived for my regular weekly visit and discovered that the same individual was the security guard checking IDs at the entrance. I immediately informed the manager on duty about what had just happened. Management's response was deeply disappointing. Instead of separating the situation or addressing the employee's behavior professionally, I was asked to "hash it out" with him in the parking lot in front of other customers. The guard continued accusing me of trying to hit his car, refused to apologize, and repeated his aggressive behavior while management stood by. To this day, ownership has never contacted me regarding the incident, and the security guard remains employed there. I no longer feel this is a safe or welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ customers or anyone expecting basic respect and professionalism. A business that tolerates hate speech and asks customers to personally confront abusive employees is not one I can support. I will not be returning.
