My wife and stopped at the Hudson Green Mill on our way home from Minnesota. We were seated right away, but I needed to use the restroom. When I got back to the table, the server had brought one glass of water. I asked my wife about it and she said that she had told the waitress to bring water for both of us, but she had only brought one. I flagged down another employee, and asked for a glass of water. After a significant wait, our server came to take our order. I had the shrimp cavatappi and my wife ordered a coconut chicken salad. While we waited for our food, I tried to flag down the server for a refill on my water. She seemed focused on what she was doing and was not paying attention to other guests in the dining room. After several attempts, I finally got her attention and asked for another glass of water. When our food came out, my wife asked for a refill on her water. A good server should not need to be asked. The food was excellent, which really saved this review. After finishing our meal, we again had to flag down our server to get our bill. When she brought it, she did not mention whether she would be back for it or if we should pay at the host station. Since we didn't see her again, and we still had a long drive ahead of us, we went to the host station to pay. We had noticed that there was a 3% "Service Charge" on our bill, and a disclaimer printed on the bill stating that the service charge was the property of Green Mill, and not our server. We asked the manager, who was at the host station, about it, and he explained that it was because of rising costs. Well, if your costs are rising, change the prices on your menu. Don't add a "Service Charge." When I see a "Service Charge" on my bill, I interpret that as a tip, and I will decrease the tip that I leave by that amount. I don't care that you printed your disclaimer on my bill, you can explain to your servers why their tips have decreased. Adding a surcharge, or service charge as you call it, is the lazy way around changing your prices and printing new menus to reflect those price changes. read more

I think that my son-in-law is getting restless with all this snow. He's an avid golfer, so the sound of "Green" Mill reminded him of a fairway. The nut even ordered a "club" sandwich. He mentioned that that particular selection was a hole in one! Which he said was par for the course at Green Mill. I'll have to agree with him on his hole in one analogy. I ordered the Italian meatball dip, and it was delicious. It's different sounding but delicious. A whole lot of chopped up meatballs covered in sauce and cheese, with some bread for dipping. It'll fill you up for sure. The girls liked their kids' meals. Fettuccine Alfredo. It was a pretty good-sized portion for the kiddos, so there was plenty left for the next day. Of course, they wanted Culvers the next day, so it'll have to wait until later. The things we do for our grandchildren. Prices at the Mill are ok. Not great, just ok. Everything is on the uptick these days. I guess they're in line with the rest of the world. We'll have to endure until we come to our collective senses. Good folks at the Green. They know what they're doing. Quick Tip: When you're done with the back nine, head for the Mill instead of the 19th hole. Ate at the Green Mill in Hudson today, The Ocean blue drink was Bacardi Lemon, blue curaçao, lemonade and sprite, It was light and exciting to think about summer approaching with a fun drink. I had the Pomodoro Florentine - Shrimp, spinach, tomato bruschetta, and trottole noodles tossed in a sun-dried tomato cream sauce topped with basin and parmesan, I would order this again in a heartbeat, very creamy and all the right blends of flavors, My boyfriend ordered the Chicken parmesan but they brought him the chicken parmesan sandwich by mistake which was ok but he really had wanted the pasta but he never said anything to waiter about making the mistake. Excellent pizza and pasta - thumbs up! Our latest eating adventure in Hudson was Green Mill Pizza. The last time I ate Green Mill Pizza, Whitney Houston, Bananarama, and The Pet Shop Boys were on the Billboard top ten! Will it be as good as I remember? Yes! My deep dish pizza was definitely as good as I remember - yum! But the Linguine with white sauce was good too. In fact, I think I actually liked the Linguine better than the Deep Dish Pizza. The Skyscraper Cheese Cake was pretty darn good too. But ya gotta save some space. The cheese cake is HUGE. They have a full bar. So you can also grab a Spotted Cow or a specialty cocktail. I'm absolutely impressed with the quality of their food! Was skeptical to try it out due to the reviews here and so glad we didn't let that stop us from trying out this place. The service and ambience were super great. Got into the late night happy hour and got to try a lot. Bruschetta and nachos were really yummy and tasty, favorite was nachos. The tomatoes on the bruschetta were marinaded with some heavenly sauce that omg sooo good. Then we tried the Il Primo deep dish pizza. Perhaps they could put a bit less tomato sauce but it was sooooo delicious! I'm glad there were leftovers so I could have it again. For dessert we had the 5 layer chocolate cake and wow, I was impressed. Right sweetness and size is good for two people (unless you're an avid food lover like me) One cocktail drink, two appetizers, the medium deep dish and desert were $40. Are you kidding me!? I walked in to see how long the wait was before bringing my kids in. On my way back out, I tripped on the dip in the curb. I feel into the parking lot, scraping my knee, elbow, and hand. My husband saw 2 other people trip while waiting for me to come out. Upon getting seated, we were not told there wasn't certain dishes and did not get their special menu with extra pasta dishes. I told the waitress about me falling, of course not expecting any discounts, just didn't want someone else to get hurt. Waiting for drinks to awhile, but was informed the bartender was slammed. Had to ask for our bread and butter and extra silverware (3 sets for 5 people). My husband's pasta serving and my pasta serving sizes were the same as our kids' kid meals. Service was friendly and food was good, not great. But when leaving, we noticed there was no "watch your step" sign on the dip in the curb. We will not be back. We couldn't remember why we don't eat here and today we realized why. read more

Deep dish pizza was ok (bit overcooked on the bottom and outside crust, toppings a bit scarce). Beer selection pretty basic; no imports but about 6-8 craft beers on tap. Me and my family ate there while on vacation as it was close to the hotel. We saw a photo of their deep dish pizza in a magazine in the hotel room. We arrived and was seated instantly. Ambiance: Quiet and casual dining. Service: Wait staff was friendly and took care of us well. Refilled drinks before they were empty. Food: Took awhile to cook the deep dish of course and was nice and hot when it arrived. Unfortunately, I've had much better pizza elsewhere. Not anywhere like the deep dish you get in Chicago. ( see previous review along w response from manager) My children order a kids meal and the server asks if they want it in a small or big cup. They say big cup and guess what, we are charged another $3 for the drink that comes with the meal. I hate that I have to review my tab every time to confirm the server isn't trying to pad the bill. I only just started getting into the green mill family, probably just since December 2019, and I this time, I decided not to get super fancy. I got the "Create Your Own Pizza", just a simple classic thin crust pepperoni and sausage. I will say, I do love a good pizza, and that pizza was very good, the flavor was there, it was a perfect ratio of pepperoni to sausage. But I will say, the cheese was a little too much for me, I like a very thin layer of cheese, this is just me though, other people might like that. Another thing was that the crust was just a little too soft. The only crunch was the outer rim, and that was just a little crunch. If you like extra cheese and soft crust, but all means, eat this pizza, you'll enjoy it. But there are much more things to get at the famous green mill, so I will be coming back. Maybe not too soon though. read more

Our family placed an order at 6:00 pm on a Saturday night for delivery. We received an email confirming our order and said it would arrive at 7:20 pm. We waited until 7:35 pm and no food had arrived. We called the restaurant and waited on the phone for more than 5 minutes and got the run around about the system being shut down by the manager because something wasn't working. Our credit card was charged and apparently the restaurant didn't get our order. Not sure how we can be charged and they don't see an order. The person we talked to on the phone said the cooks were going to make it immediately and have it delivered as soon as possible. She didn't offer any kind of reimbursement for their severe mistake. We are quite annoyed and so are our two kids waiting for their kids cheese pizza. You should think twice before ordering online from Green Mill. I know they lost us as a customer. read more

I came here with my family and it was decent. We ordered a deep dish pizza, the 3 cheese chicken nachos, kids meal cheese pizza, and the meatball sandwich. Unfortunately the pizza came out overcooked and a little burnt, plus we ordered extra cheese on it but there was not much on there. The nachos were pretty good, but the meatball sandwich was by far the best thing we all ordered. I would definitely go back for the sandwich. Service was attentive, our waitress always made sure our drinks were filled. We heard so many good things about their pizza so that is why I gave it the three star rating. Oh my...where do I start?! The girl answering the phone and trying to take my order for delivery was new and I finally had enough of her inexperience when she said "and what do you want as a side" .... I was like "I want all the toppings on the side" for my burger. I asked for a manager and when he gave me a total for my 2 burgers of $31.00 I about had a heart attack. I asked how he came up with $31 when (according to their website it should've been no more than $22) ... add in $1.65 tax and 3.00 delivery and grand total should've been $26 ... not $31.70....plus they go from $27.05 to $30.05 with no explanation on the receipt!!!! The food arrived 1-1/2 hours later COLD!!!! so awful.....and I bet they won't update their website for months to the prices they are charging.... after spending 10-15 minutes placing order and then to say "I am cancelling" is kind of hard to do, but maybe if everyone has a heads up right here and now you will deal with it better than I did. Recently I visited this restaurant and was absolutely blown away with our server, CHAVON. She was nothing less than fantastic. I don't know about you.... but whenever I get beyond-exceptional service, I feel it's necessary to let others know about that extraordinary person in Yelp and with all of my friends, family and acquaintances. Hence my intent of letting you know that if you also love great food and over-the-top service, do yourself a favor and go to Green Mill and ask if you can be placed in Chavon's area. Once upon a time this used to be a decent restaurant however my experience there tonight has jaded my opinion. My wife and I arrived here at 9:03 pm and ordered about 10 minutes later. the menu at our table for appetizer specials was stuck together and nasty. This should have been our first sign of problems. After waiting half an hour for our food and seeing several tables seated after us get their food and after watching our food sit from 9:34 to 9:45, we determined it was time to pay for our sodas and go. I went in 5 minutes to speak to the manager about the situation and he didn't care and didn't apologize. This is my last time here but I am very happy to share my experience. read more
