Then four of us were in the gift store at the check out counter and a gentleman walked in and asked if cash was required for the food just in the coolers right inside the door and the woman answered that in the market it was but I am not sure she answered his actual question. he immediately turned away and left as we all attempted to say they have a cash machine in the store but no mention from the gift store sales person. I felt sorry for him. We all enjoyed our items we did purchase but unfortunately Norway did not win but they did put up a good fight.

There are several options for each and I chose one chocolate and some homemade marshmallows to accompany and several slices that reminded me of far away travels. So fun. I had a ton of fun perusing the store. There were so many things to look at. Lots of holiday options but also a few staples if you just need a local grocer. I'll be honest--a tomato mozz sandwich wouldn't normally be my go-to, but it was surprisingly flavorful, light, and still filling (half was enough for me). Everything we had was delicious. I've lived in the general neighborhood for a couple of years, but only visited this place for the first time a few weeks ago and boy, I wish I knew about it earlier. This place has a huge selection of fresh baked breads, cookies, pastries, as well as some more savory sandwich options and other amazing dishes. All of the baked goods are self serve in which you put on a plastic glove and load up your tray with whatever you'd like and then pay at the end. As for the sandwiches, you'd have to order at the front. I have only ever done baked goods here, but the staff have all been extremely kind to me. The baked goods are all amazing and super affordable. Most of the baked goods are between 1 and 3 bucks a piece. I have been back a number of times in the last few weeks and tried a lot of their dishes and they have all been amazing. The place is pretty small inside, but there are a few places to sit. That being said, it's definitely much more common to just do it to-go.

Like us, you'll have a darned difficult time figuring out what to pick from what seems like hundreds of Ecuadorian treats, both sweet and savory. So I think we ended up with 14+ items? And it all cost just $12! They have cakes, sweet baked goods, savory baked goods, hot food to order, savory sauces made in-house, candies, coffee, cute seasonal gifts and more! Some of our faves from our haul, and forgive me for not remembering the names: this cookie that looks like a Home Simpson donut and coincidentally is amazing when dipped into hot coffee, bun filled with pineapple jam, decorated sugar cookies, a baked good filled with cheese topped with sugar, and the fried ribs that came with a side dish (under $5!).
