They have not responded to my email inquiries, and they do not have a phone number or address anywhere on their website. Honestly, that should have been enough to keep me from trying them out, but they were the only ones who carried the product I needed for a good price (another warning sign). Anyway, purchase at your own risk. From other reviews, it sounds like they do fulfill some orders, but I'm one of the unlucky ones whose paid order has simply been ignored. Next stop: my credit card company to contest the charge. Disappointing.

I just purchased a Lighting kit & Backdrop kit from Cowboy Studio. The setup was fairly simple (I…read morehad gotten a little confused) but for both kits they were pretty self explanatory! Great product so far, everything was working & quality. I haven't had a chance to leave my lights on for hours to see if they hold well but I'm sure they do! (will re-update this review after I've used them for hours) **update 10/15/16*** it's been a month and I've had no problems with any of my purchases! I love it & need to buy some more backdrops (to get more colors) Robin was very helpful as I am a beginning photographer (4 months in) & had questions about lighting in general! I did not get anything shipped but walking in I was helped within a reasonable amount of time & nothing issued to me was broken. My only (minor) complaint was the kits didn't come with directions. HOWEVER, they do have tutorials for a ton of setups on their youtube channel located on their website! Please keep in mind (as I was told by Robin) this store is moving to a new location (Richardson I believe) so call in before you drive out to make sure they're still located in Allen, TX! I would recommend this store as they had a big selection, were priced well & helpful.

My parents have two reels of 8mm film of their wedding from 1969 and I told them I could get it…read moretransferred to a DVD. I've always seen U-Edit on the corner of the shopping strip but never ventured in. I finally got me something I could take to them and in I went! I go in and give them my two reels. "I'd like this wedding video transferred to DVD, please." "Sure, no problem. We have a 250 foot minimum. It's $.15/foot. Looks like you'll have under the 250 minimum..." "Okay. How long will it take?" "Oh, about 4-6 weeks" "Alright. Call me when it comes in." It came in right as they had estimated. Right around 4 weeks and all-in-all, I'm pretty happy with it. They try to document any problems with the film and noted that it was overexposed or had artifacts or was cloudy. It's a 40 year old reel of film. I don't expect it to be perfect. Now we have the reels preserved on a DVD and this Sunday when my family gets together for dinner, we'll watch it for the first time all together. I'm excited. Thanks U-Edit. I don't know what part I played in the editing, but I couldn't care less.

I suspect any review given for this place doesn't really matter, as I think these guys have a…read moremonopoly on this type of business in this area, and they take full advantage of that with the high prices that they charge. But I guess I could give them two stars - they did actually transfer 8mm video to DVD. But their customer service is poor and their prices are high. Every employee I dealt with in this place seemed kind of lost. It was extraordinarily expensive, and the final charge was more than the estimate. They said it would take three to four weeks. I went in after five weeks asking about it, and watched them hunt for my order, which they finally found "in the wrong place". In the meantime, someone looked on their computer to confirm that no one called me - did they think I was lying about that? The other big disappointment (other than the high price and poor customer service) was the lack of a home menu with chapters on the DVD. It never even dawned on me that the resulting DVD would not have any chapters at all, especially when it contained multiple reels, so I didn't even think to ask about that. Seems they could have at least made each reel its own chapter, or just put a chapter marker every 15 minutes, but it's just one long movie with no way to navigate. They also didn't quite finish the job as they forgot to make the flash drive. They said they will burn that and drop it in the mail to me. We'll see. But it will take awhile to copy because there are "a lot of files" to copy. Multiple files = multiple chapters, wouldn't you think? I'm also surprised that they kept a copy of my personal videos. I don't recommend them, but don't know of any alternative. I expected more from a small personal shop.
