This is the worst place to buy a used car from. They said they found a cracked fuel pump in the car and replaced it before selling it to us. Oh, they replaced it. With a junkyard part for the wrong year car. It cost us over $700 to fix, after running out of gas 4 times on the highway with the tank still reading 1/4 tank (the first time was no more than 5 days after they sold it to us). When we called, multiple times, they were uninterested in returning calls or helping us fix it. They also promised to clean up the inside of the car and make it really nice for us before giving it to us. We picked it up and all of the seats and floors were still soaking wet. We had to dry it with the heat on for 5 hours that evening. The steering wheel was covered in sticky grime, there's nasty filth all over the seatbelts, and a bonus blood stain on the passenger side above the door. The driver's side door handle also fell off after three weeks, which we replaced ourselves for $60. Just found out today that the outlets in the car don't work either. When I took this car into my trusted mechanic to help us finally stop breaking down on the side of the road, he told us that Green Light has a reputation for selling complete junk cars and never to buy from them. I wish we had talked to him first. Don't take the chance. If you're in the market for a used car in the area, call Mike's Reliable Garage in Ansonia and ask him for names of reputable dealers. Then ask the dealer to take the car to him for a complete check up before buying. It will cost some money for the inspection but save you in the long run! read more

Never buy a car from Green Light Auto Sales in Seymour CT ..Now let me tell u why .. I was lied to pretty much the whole staff that was working on Monday the 8/12/13. On saturday 8/8/13 I was told I was putting a deposit on a car that i had looked at . I gave one of the salesmen my credit card information and told them i would pick it up on monday.. I called them in the morning getting the right information for my insurance and my bank that was needed . I was constantly lied to and mislead thoughtout the day.. I called numoreous times waiting for the bill of sale to be faxed to my credit union and was told someone would call me back . Then finally someone calls me and trys to push another car on to me but i said no I want the one i put a deposit on. So he sends the bill of sale to my bank after waiting there for and hour for it , I finally set up the loan with my bank and then head up to the dealership were im told to wait again for 20 mintues , Then the sales rep finally tells me that they sold the car on Saturday and didnt bother to take the deposit money out of my card.. Then proceeds to try to push another car on me ..This was by far the worst and most unproffesional experience ive ever had with a dealership. They actually let me take a loan out they new i wasnt goin to use and let me drive 30 minutes to there dealership to tell me they lied to me and try to sell me another car .. I just purchased a car at this establishment. Worked with Evan and Carlos and things went swimmingly. Evan was terrific - knowledgeable, patient, courteous and just nice. We looked at the carfax, I had a test drive, everything worked as advertised and I decided to make a deal. Once the case was turned over to Carlos for the financing end of things, he had me out the door in no time (with an excellent interest rate to boot). Stay away!!! Dealership should be brought to the attention of the Atty. Gen. The vehicle they advertised on the Internet was not the vehicle that was in the store. The outright refused to let me inspect mechanical condition of the vehicle, all I wanted to do was lift the hood and look at the motor. The salesperson was extremely pushy, against my better judgment I made the decision to purchase the car. Upon coming back to the dealership with my wife and daughter to make the final arrangements I was told that it was a deposit but done on the car, but I could still make the purchase if I was willing to pay $1000 more than the deposit. When I stated in a calm and kind manner that we had already an agreed-upon price and I was not interested salesperson became irate. He raised his voice and swore in front of my nine-year-old daughter. He cared nothing for the fact that she was clearly traumatized. These people are not only tricksters but they are downright mean. Me and my dad Took a 2 hour (one way) trip to visit said dealership. We were informed to notify them when we were on our way so they could get the car I was interested in ready. We informed them right before leaving. Upon getting there we had to wait 20 min for them to drive out to there other lot and pick up the car (apparently 2 hours was way too short of time) Finally he gets out of the car and tells me the oil light is on but the levels are fine and it's probably a sensor. Looking at the car it has dents and scratches and one of the tires was a tad low. But I figured the price was decent. As I start driving the car the syncros in the transmission are shot and it shifts hard into gear. Then I realized the turbo is broken and i am getting no boost. I bring the car back and they're basically telling me if I buy the car they could fix those problems. I'm sorry but your a complete moron if you try and sell a car in bad shape with the promise that you could fix it afterwards. The car should have been road ready upon my test drive. To start with I called and asked if the truck was still for sale and it was so I asked if I could come down and see it he said sure it's right in the lot you can test drive it too so I drove 3 hours get there and the truck isn't even there it was at ford getting fixed. long story short I drove another half hour to the dealer it was at to look at it after hours. It was ok looking so I put a $500 deposit on it. Jack the sales man told me everything would be fixed. I drive 3 hours back again a week later with a check because he told me it was 100% ready to go. Initially, I thought Green Light Auto was very helpful and accommodating. I had bad credit and they worked diligently to get me a loan. After my applications were completed and I got the loan approval I came to pick up the vehicle that I had already test drove and inspected. The car was not ready, the paper work had a price that was not what was agreed upon, the sun roof rain guard was missing (they "ordered" a new one), and there were a few mechanical problems that were promised to be fixed, upon return. At this point I was knee deep and my co-signer was not willing to go through this process again with another dealership. I had a unreliable car and was desperate for a safe vehicle for my family. I was going to walk out but they promised me a 10 year warranty where I could bring my car to them or any mechanic with costs covered since they couldn't give me the agreed upon price and I didn't have the voice-mail where he told me the price to prove it wasn't the agreement. A few weeks later i found the email with the actual price they did tell me proving they were wrong. I called at least 50 times about the warranty and the sunroof. Always got the same run around and promise that someone who can help will call me back. Its funny when they wanted me to buy the car they were able to call me five times a day. Finally after the lack of cooperation between my salesman, and Carlos in the finance office, I called threatening to report them to the Better Business Bureau. My salesman, Jack pleaded for me to wait until he can contact someone to resolve the issues. Needless to say a month later still no call. They are swindlers, I'm out of luck because I made the decision to believe their promises. The car was bought in the summer with an inspection guarantee saying everything was up to par. Unfortunately I learned this winter that my AWD doesn't even work which was a huge deciding factor in purchasing the SUV. I've already put over $1500 into the car. We didn't even buy a car from this shitty "dealership". I called on Monday Oct.19th to schedule a test drive for a car my husband wanted. We show up for the test drive on Wednesday Oct. 22nd at 1pm and they forgot we made the appointment, they had it up on the lift doing suspension work. They told us that it'd be ready at 3pm so we found a pizza place to kill time at. Then at 310pm we get back only to be told that they didn't have it ready. We gave them an earful and left. My husband went back today (Thursday Oct.23rd) and and was told that it STILL WASN'T READY! We live in Ledyard, driving to Seymour is 90 minutes away. They had both of our phone numbers and they didn't bother to use either of them. All it would have taken is a phone call to save us a full tank of gas and keep our 1yr old daughter on her sleep schedule. We drove 90minutes both ways, TWICE for a car that they couldn't get finished in time for a scheduled test drive. I could have used the seven hours of my life I wasted there spending time with my husband who works almost every day, done laundry, spent time with my kid, DONE MY HOMEWORK for my college class, any number of things other than wasting my time and money and gas to drive to that shit hole. It's ridiculous, all it would have taken was a damn phone call but apparently their brains couldn't comprehend how to use a telephone. We will never be back. read more

This is the first and last time I will ever buy a car from a shady dealer like Green Light. I recently bought my son a Mazda Speed 3 who was going to drive the car to college in Arizona. There were numerous issues with the car (minor) that we asked to be fixed. None of them major issues. Green Light is one hour away from where I live. I actually went there, round trip, five times in one week. It was exhausting. We had to fight for everything to be fixed the correct way and not half assed. I actually had to bring my husband up there so they wouldn't keep giving me the run around. One of the items that needed to be fixed was the housing for the passenger door handle inside the car. They didn't fix it. Not only didn't they fix it but it didn't automatically lock. In addition to that, they didn't have the original keys. When we brought it home my son said he couldn't lock the doors, because the key they gave us could only be used to start the car. Thank God he noticed it before he locked the car. I called them and TJ promised me they would order a key FOB and it's been three weeks and I still haven't received it. I keep calling them but they avoid my phone calls, even though I asked them to write me an IOU. Then the splash guard underneath the engine was hanging and looked beat up. We asked them to fix it by tying it up or however else they would fix it. When I picked up the car it was still hanging and they said they fixed it the best they could. I told them it looked the same way it did originally. Then after arguing with them they put a new splash guard on the car. And it only gets better. We asked them to put new brake pads on the back brakes, which they did. My son drove three days to Arizona and when he got there the back passenger wheel was making a horrible loud noise. My son took it to a mechanic in Arizona who told him that whoever put the brakes on didn't put them on properly. Apparently they didn't put the rattle pins on that come with the brakes and everything started to move around causing the loud noise. My son had to have new brake pads put on both back wheels and had to pay over $150. So whoever their mechanic is, clearly didn't know what he was doing, which put my son's life at risk. And finally, they promised me they would order me floor mats for the car because it didn't have any, these were also put on the IOU and again when I called and spoke to TJ about the FOB and mats, I was told he would get back to me and he never did, as well as having my husband call and he was thrown into voicemail. In conclusion I would recommend you stay away from Green Light and go to someone reputable as Green Light makes promises and doesn't keep them as well as doing less than mediocre work on their cars. This is a two and a half star review, I'll round up for Yelp's sake because generally, used car places only make it to Yelp because frustrated used buyers are,...frustrated. So here I am, a real Yelp reviewer that tries not to post too many single or five star reviews, and have more than five reviews that are not revenge posts or glowing and gushing over my best friends business. The people, friendly, accommodating, trusting, accessible. The facility is clean, bright and comfortable. The lot is small and often cars are at another local, but they shuttle around as needed and it's not a bad experience to try out two or three cars in a single visit. The cars, an eclectic mix of high end cars and SUV's. YES, some of the cars have a history, but they do provide CarFax up front before you even stop in, to determine how much "history" you are comfortable with. For cars with minor accident history, the pricing tends to generously reflect the imperfect record and there seems to be room to negotiate further if a car has been on on the lot a few weeks. The test drive experience is very good, follow up info is friendly and polite. We didn't make it through to a purchase as a different car caught our eye before we did final negotiations, but in a pinch or in a hurry, this is a place I could return to in the future, if I was looking for used cars as they were not stuffy or heavy handed and never shied away from a tough question or a tough answer. read more

I purchased an Audi A3 from GLAS a few months ago. I never owned an Audi before but by the recommendation of colleagues I opted to. One of them referred me to green light. I am glad I went there. I knew what I wanted from browsing the web site and a lot of other forums and they had the one I wanted. I got the extra warranty as well for piece of mind. the staff was very knowledgeable and technically competent speaking with them. what really sold me was after i took it home I thought there was an issue with it so TJ said bring it right back. they took a look at it and I haven't noticed an issue at all. and even over a month after I got it, they still were good on their word about getting me the missing floor mats. they take pride in their work and their word is everything, hopefully they have my next car because I will definitely buy it from them. read more

I recently purchased a used vehicle from this dealership and felt no issues during the test drive. After i drove back to Pennsylvania, i started noticing a loud clicking coming from the front end of the vehicle and had a local dealership look into it to discover the transmission had gone bad. I called Green Light and they were able to send a tow truck down and pick my vehicle up on a Thursday. TJ, the service manager called me friday to tell me they had already changed out the bad transmission for a new one. I was not charged for the tow or transmission as it was still under warranty. there was no hassle with getting ahold of the dealership and getting my car fixed. bought a 2012 g37x from them. With in a week i was having problems. Brought it back to the dealer for repairs. They told me nothing was wrong. The problem contuined so i brought back for a second time. They told be it waa fine it was suppose to do that. Eneded up bringing the car to infiniti delaer. They fixed the issues with cost me $2,500 in repairs. 2 bad front wheel barring and an axle. Also the power sterring resevor had to be replaced. The worst thing is i asked them to look at those thing and they never did. Long stroy short dont buy from them. You will regret it. Bought a low mileage, 2004 car from this dealer. Negotiated a good (fair) price with the business manager. He wasn't so happy but we made the deal. State law is that dealer doesn't have to provide warranty for cars over 7 yrs old. I knew that and asked the BM about any type of guarantee. He made it very clear that once I took the car off the lot "they didn't want to see me again". I wasn't too happy with his attitude but the price and car were overall good so I went through with the deal. Two days after picking up the car and driving no more than 20 miles, it died with an EPC light on the dash. Since the BM had indicated he wanted nothing to do with the car after the sale, I had it towed to a very reputable repair shop. Needed a new computer and throttle body - $950 !!! I contacted Green Light to tell them my story and ask if they were willing to help me with this bill. After leaving messages with the salesman several time, I finally was "allowed" to talk to the CFO - the owner's wife (how about that!!). She drolled on and on that her hands were tied by state laws and regulations, she "felt my pain" but wouldn't/couldn't do anything for me. Basically "tough luck pal, we got our money and you're stuck with it". Don't buy a car from this dealer. They have no idea what customer service means and with their attitude won't be in business very long. After talking to a few other people, turns out this dealer has lots of other complaints against it. Stay away....... read more
