This is marmot!!

What an amazing trip. The tour guide was great. We saw an elk!!! The stops were awesome as we got to take pics along the way and saw a marmot and got information about the forest, flowers and animals

Enjoying the conversations with Nick, our guide

My wife and I took the Green Jeep tour a year ago and got the opportunity to bring my parents with us this year. Due to their limited mobility, we decided to take a private tour and had Nick W. as our guide. This trip exceeded our expectations as we got to tour the park at exactly our speed. Nick took great care of us and provided a perfect sense of humor with interesting history and details regarding local animal and plant life. I think we will make the Green Jeep tour part of every visit to Estes Park.

Minus one star for not seeing an Elk. Apparently, we were only among a handful of guests never to see one. Well, we did a Moose taking a bath from a mile away and 2 deer. Our guide Julie showed us lots of flowers and waterfalls and we were the only people in the Jeep, which I loved. Definitely get your 3 hours worth of activities. A worthy tour.

Our group did the Rocky Mountain Safari Private Tour with Sam as our tour guide on Tuesday of this week. We rode in the back of one of the Jeeps up Trail Ridge Road to the top, and then since ours was a private tour we were able to add on a bonus visit to Sprague Lake and Moraine Park which are beautiful areas as well. The mountain views going up Trail Ridge are spectacular. Sam is incredibly knowledgeable of the area, pointing out various animals along the way (we saw elk, moose, marmots, grouse, ground squirrels, etc. ) and he gave us information on the rich history of the area and other fun facts. Be advised that if you ride in the back of a green Jeep, you are fairly exposed to the elements so watch the weather carefully, but, when properly dressed, there is no better way to see the park and I would highly recommend it. Did I say Sam was a great guide?

I was injured on our 1st day in Estes Park so we had to find things to occupy our visit since I was in a leg brace and using a crutch. We ended up booking a Green Jeep tour of Rocky Mountain National Park. After a little snafu we were rescheduled for an early evening tour. Our guide- Sam was AWESOME. Personable, kind, and excited to show us something he obviously loves. He made sure I was safe getting in and out of the jeep. And once we reached higher elevations and colder temps, he checked with us often then handed out blankets for the passengers who wanted. He had tons of info and stories about the park. He also had restaurant recommendations for Estes Park and surrounding areas. He made our day!! I'd highly recommend requesting Sam when booking a tour And I'd also recommend taking a tour with Green Jeep- even if you aren't injured! It's a great way to sit back, relax, have fun and get a different view of RMNP

We went on the early morning Elk rut tour and it was great. Our tour guide was exceptional. We saw so much wildlife to include a moose, deer and lots of elk. Highly recommend!!

We loved this tour! We are from out of town and wanted to be able to see as much of the mountains and Estes Park as we could in the short time we were visiting. Our tour guide was Dan. He was very knowledgeable and so sweet. He drove very safely and definitely made us feel at ease when navigating the turns around the mountain at high altitudes. We got up to 12,500 feet and took the 4:30/5 pm tour so that we could see sunset. I definitely recommend bringing a jacket if you dress warmly because the higher you climb on the tour the colder it gets. The wind was what was really chilly at the top of the mountain once we stopped to watch the sunset. At the highest altitude when we stopped for sunset it was 53 degrees but the wind made it feel much colder. (We took this tour in the last week of September) I also recommend bringing your own water, you can leave it in the jeep when the group ventures out on a trail. We saw bighorn sheep, elk and Pikas once we reached the top of the park at the highest elevation. Dan let us all stop to take pictures and pulled off to the side of the road to let us have time to take photos and watch the sun fully set over the mountains. I would highly recommend this tour! Dan showed us beautiful views, some small trails, waterfalls, wildlife, photo ops and the park's history all in 3 hours. We will definitely be back :)

Green Jeep tours were recommended to us and was a great way to get a feel for RMNP and Estes. Our driver, Greg was knowledgeable and made the experience fun. About 3 hours and well worth the time. Also gave us a great restaurant suggestion, Bird & Jim. We ate lunch there after our tour and it was outstanding. Highly recommend.

Fritz was our driver and he was right up our alley - funny and easy to get along with! We did the off road tour... literally a 4x4 trail in Allenspark. This isn't one for people looking to see herds of elk or get a tour of RMNP. What you do see are wonderful views of Meeker and Longs Peak, and glorious shots of aspen trees without all the traffic. We had a wonderful experience and the only casualty we had was Fritz's green step stool!

Sarah picked us up at Stonebrook Resort, where we were staying, at 5:10 a.m. Since it was early on Memorial Day, we did not need to pay an entrance fee or schedule timed entry into the park. Sarah took us up to Many Parks Curve and pointed out the numerous peaks in the distance to the northwest while describing various points of interest below. The sun rose quietly in the east, making the entire experience peaceful and beautiful. She drove us as far as Rainbow Curve, where the road was closed, then walked us farther up the road so we could take in additional views. Throughout the trip, Sarah shared local history, explained natural events over the past century that have shaped the park, and answered our many questions. We were also lucky enough to see several bull and cow moose near their calves, bull elk, bighorn rams, and even a Colorado pika. The tour lasted approximately three hours and ended back at our lodging. We highly recommend Sunrise Tours of Rocky Mountain National Park to anyone looking for a quiet, memorable experience of RMNP in all its natural beauty. Sarah was an amazing and knowledgeable guide, and her insight, warmth, and familiarity with the park made the tour even more special.

Bruce's encyclopedic knowledge of the flora, fauna and the complex ecologies of Rocky Mountain National Park provided a level of insight that I did not expect. This, coupled with his extensive historical knowledge of both the Park, and Estes Park, completed an absolutely first-class package. If you are looking for a private tour that has everything Bruce is your "go to" guy!

It was peaceful, scenic, and a great way to experience the outdoors in a totally different way. The staff was so warm and welcoming--super friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. You can tell they genuinely care about your experience and love what they do. We really appreciated the laid-back vibe and aloha spirit even all the way out here in Colorado! The railbikes were easy to use and surprisingly smooth. We pedaled through quiet farmland and open skies--it was beautiful and relaxing. But heads up: if you're going as a couple, it's a bit of a workout! We definitely recommend going with four people if possible to share the pedaling. It makes the whole ride a lot more chill and fun. If you're anywhere near Erie, don't miss this experience. It's perfect for families, friends, or anyone looking for a peaceful adventure off the beaten path. Mahalo to the amazing team--we'll be telling everyone back home about this ride!

After researching tour companies through Yelp and other review websites I settled on Rocky Mountain Rush because of their great reviews on Trip Advisor. Though we had to contend with a rainy day, RMR did a great job of showing us some of the highlights of the park. The park itself is absolutely breathtaking (separate review) and a need-to-see experience. The RMR vehicle (pretty much a really big Hummer) is spacious and very comfortable. Since it has the capacity to become an open air vehicle, it can get a little chilly inside. Comfy fleece blankets are provided. Our guide was fantastic - he seemed to know a lot about the park's history and was truly funny. Just a couple of things... not easy to make a reservation online. I sent three requests and eventually just had to call. It is virtually impossible for me to use a phone on my work days so I would have found online more convenient. A longer tour, even by just an hour or so would be great. The park is huge so don't get me wrong... I get why you can't see everything in a few hours. Besides the basic hummer tour, they also do downhill biking adventures and wine and cheese sunset tours. Their prices are on the moderate side ($50 pp). Overall, a good service!

Tours are relatively reasonably priced (though not cheap) for the entertainment and educational bits and bobs about the places you're taken to, but for the winter tours where your exposure to several areas of the park is limited, I do think they could knock off a few bucks. We had a bit of a mishap during my tour, where my phone was dropped and my battery tumbled off a bridge and down the side of the mountain. Our guide saved the day by literally sliding down the mountain to retrieve my battered - but still functional! - phone innards. Nevermind the details about how that happened (though I wonder if it'll make it into our guide's stories from here on out), but not having that battery would have really put a kink in the remainder of FH and I's trip to Colorado, so I was thankful, if a bit nervous, that he rescued it. We would love to come back in the summertime and take one of the off-road tours, and will definitely look up this company again if we find ourselves in Estes in warmer months.
