I will start with the good. The fried sweet plantains were very good. Service was very slow. The owner greeted us, but then seemed more interest in making friends with other customers at the bar than making sure his restaurant was working in good order. If you do go, I would recommend the Hawaiian salad. Not because it's good, but it will give you and your friends something to reminisce about. You see, It is absolutely vintage. Straight from the 70s when canned pineapple and maraschino cherries roamed far throughout culinary spectrum. (Please post a picture if you order it!) The chicken for the fajitas was pre-boiled in onion water, frozen, and then maybe fried. It gave it a texture that was like a tough rubber. The skirt steak with chimichurri was bland. Amazing! Great ambiance! Great food! Great service! I shared the seafood paella with my dad and mom ordered the churrasco with a side of mofongo! Delicious! For appetizers we ordered ceviche de mero, French onion soup, and the plantain soup. Several choices of flan for dessert. Highly recommend! Great little spot! read more

This place was OUTSTANDING we ordered a ridiculous amount of food for 4 people. First we ordered an appetizer platter and we literally polished that off. We ordered the paella with meat, it was my favorite dish. The rice had the perfect texture and it absorbed the flavor in a way that will make this dish memorable for me for a long time. The costillas were fall of the bone tender and that is no exaggeration. The sweet and savory (guayaba) BBQ sauce was finger licking good, but I am partial to sweet and savory combinations. (Second favorite) I really enjoyed the mofongo, it's not something that everyone will like, especially if you're not accustomed to the taste of plantains or if you're a texture person it could be off putting, just take a stab at it and decide for yourself. We order the fried cheese cake and vanilla flan both deserts were spectacular, but I favored the fried cheese cake, it was crazy good. I'd definitely come back to this place!! My review is a true and honest one. I will not take away from customers reviews, everyone has their own experience and taste when it comes to seafood or any other food for a fact. I just finished my dinner at Green House Restaurant. First I asked for a Passion fruit Mojito, after tasting it, it's authenticity is absent, for it  did not meet a well prepared Mojito. I also ordered Wings as an Appitizer, it had no flavor whatsoever missing condiments and appropriate spices, seemed like they were tossed directly into the fryer right out of the refrigerated bag, only to be paired with barbecue sauce. Now for my main dish which was Seafood filled Lobster with Mofongo (mofongo, a dish made by smashing fried green plantains -- frequently in a pilón (mortar and pestle) -- with garlic, olive oil and, most traditionally, chicharrón (fried pork skin), however mines was sweet due to the ripe plantain that was used (should be done green not ripe). The Lobster unfortunately was overcooked,  It was served without lemon and butter and I did not have the proper tools for plucking out the meat which made it harder. Fortunately the waiter had seen my struggle from a distance and brought me a small nut craker (A Seafood Fork A small cocktail fork will also work  with Nut Crackers or Fancy Lobster Crackers.) Good thing there were no customers (odd) but us at 2:30pm. The men's restroom was cleaned but had no  hand towels. The woman's restroom had a plastic bowl sitting in the sink and no hand towels. Overall the restaurant was nice and clean and the waiter was friendly.  However, I will not be stopping by again nor recommending. read more

The food and service were both amazing!! We found this in our last night in Puerto Rico only minutes from the hotel in Dorado. The menu had a wide variety that gave our picky eaters a lot of options, from seafood to steaks to chicken to salads. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, which came with a surprise salsa, fried corn sticks that were kind of like cornbread, and the guava bbq ribs which were so tender and omg that sauce!! For the main course we had steak and shrimp, steak, and a quesadilla. All were AMAZING and beautifully plated. Drinks were great too! The server was super nice and attentive. The prices were more than reasonable, totally felt we got more than our money's worth. We left stuffed and happy. For the life of me I cannot understand why this place is only 4 stars. It is definitely 5 STAR +. We ate here and the restaurant next door, and this was by far the better - and we were pretty happy with the other place. The staff (I think mother & son) were so very nice. Excellent service. Very relaxed atmosphere. We were not in a hurry, and we were not hurried. The place was not busy on this Tuesday night which suited us just fine. Our party had grouper special & seafood paella special. Our meals were exquisite. Delicious. Very original. Finished with 3 different flans (coconut, pistachio, chocolate). Perfection. It's good but over priced for the food. That's why I'm giving it 3 stars. Our server was nice but smelled like an ash tray. With recently moving to the island my husband and I have been trying restaurants all around the area. There are many seafood restaurants outside of Dorado and on the water that have delicious food for much more reasonable prices and larger portions. I was in Puerto Rico last week and staying at a resort int he Dorado area. It was late one night and we were looking for a sit-down restaurant to grab some food and have a nice comfortable dinner. The only place that looked decent, from the outside, was the GreenHouse Cafe. We stopped in and they were still open. They welcomed us in right away and we were taken back by the decor and the inside of this restaurant because it was so beautiful. The owner came by to make sure everything was perfect. The price was reasonable and we were very happy. We left very satisfied and had a great experience. Two days later, my wiife wanted to celebrate her birthday with a dinner. We tried looking for a fancy place and ended up back at the Greenhouse cafe. Thinking I couldn't be impressed anymore, I was completely wrong. We ordered wine and the selection was amazing. We went with an italian white and it was amazing. Then we all ordered different food from our last visit and we were blown away by it once again. They even brought my wife a dessert with her name in it. We were so impressed and had an amazing time. It was such a classy night. There was even a young couple on a first date there. Do yourself a flavor and go get a taste of Puerto RIco at the Greenhouse Cafe. You will not regret it. read more

Music was too loud and Marc Anthony was on a loop which was s little much but servers were friendly and we got our food in a reasonable time frame. I don't recommend planning to sit outside as the patio did not have any ambiance unfortunately. But close to our hotel and not crowded so it was s good experience. read more

The food was excellent. The girl who served us was diligent and did a great job. The ambiance was casual and relaxed. Why two stars? I made reservations through a website that gave us 20% off our bill. When our tab came, we realized that they charged $1 extra on each of the chicken dishes. When we asked, the older lady who was in charge of the tab said that it was for the mofongo. Nowhere in the menu did it say that there was an extra charge. Also, only one of the three chicken dishes had mofongo. We also noticed that they applied an 18% tip for a group of 4 (again, that wasn't mentioned anywhere). Oh, and the tip was calculated POST TAX. We divided our tab accordingly, applied the discount, tax and tip. We each paid out share, and the lady complained that she gave us $40 off and we still owed her $7. Mind you, our tab was NOT $200, so there was no way she gave us $40 off. Her parting words were along the lines of "forget it, I don't care for $7". It's too bad because the waitstaff seemed nice and the gentleman who approached us at some point (I'm guessing the owner or manager) was very polite. This older lady was simply unprofessional. I have relatives in the area who enjoy dinning out, and I know they would have liked the food here, but they won't be going after I told them of our experience. read more

I'm waivering between a 2 and 3, and leaning low because the "special" was so bad that I sent it back- something I rarely do. It was grouper filet stuffed with lobster and topped with coconut sauce - it sounded interesting. Not! It turned out to be 2 fried roulade-type portions of over-cooked (dry and crunchy) fish with some lobster meat in the center. The coconut sauce was some thick whitish concoction of sweetened shredded coconut (yes the kind you would use in a dessert) - blech. Plated with it was a small salad which turned out to be identical to the bagged 'sweet kale salad' I buy from costco! Not that there's anything wrong with Costco (I happen to LOVE Costco... ). Just not used to seeing it show up shamelessly undisguised at a restaurant!! Hubby had ribs with guava sauce- nice portion of not very imaginative looking ribs topped with a ladle of sweet looking sauce (think Applebee's). His ribs were very tender and also came with the costco salad as well as a delicious garlicky oniony mofongo. My replacement dish was a generously sized grouper filet with creole tomato sauce. The good news is that it was very fresh. Prices were reasonable ($18 ish except the special which was $25) and they make the plates look nice with squiggled sauce and a "green house" fried pita - but overall I can't recommend this place when I've had so much better down the road at Pika! read more

Absolutely amazing food. I brought my family here for dinner while on our yearly visit to Puerto Rico. This is probably the best place I have ever eaten at in PR. The owner greets you, and also helps the wait staff. Pricing was also very good. Three of us had ribeye steaks and mofongo which was amazing. The wife enjoyed shrimp fajitas which she said were great. Great local atmosphere and very clean. Your doing yourself an injustice if you don't try it. read more

I don't often give 5 stars but this was really good food. Nothing was greasy, and the three main courses we got were all so delicious. The Mofongo was the best I have had in PR so far. Tasty with other little items tucked into it, not just some mashed up plantains. The fish special was especially good. Grouper with almond crust with a cocnut sauce over it. Bad ass... Really good. Service was attentive and not over bearing. Good selection of many types of wine and served at a good tempature (like room temp, but not when the room is 85 degrees at other places in PR). Quaint restaurant with very good customer service and beautiful food presentation. Guava ribs were fall off the bone and the BBQ sauce complimented the pork well. Snapper and bacon wrapped chicken stuffed with plantain were good options, however, I prefer the sauces on the side. The mofongo was great and even better with the garlic sauce to dip. Flan was okay, only had the vanilla and didn't care for the chocolate syrup on the plate. Overall had an enjoyable dinner. read more

Went looking for authentic food and found this delightful place very close to the hotel. The wait staff were very friendly and checked on us often. The food was Ah Maz Ing! The presentation was excellent and portion size is huge! You must try the grouper croquette staffed with lobster and dont miss the Mufungo! We were staying nearby at a resort and thought we would venture out for a change... To experience a little local flavor. Turned out to be a terrible idea to have chosen the Green House Café. When we first found the place, we were optimistic because we met the owner who was standing outside cleaning a display. The reviews on Yelp were pretty positive so we decided to give it a shot. Bottom line: do yourself a favor and skip it. The restaurant appears to only own six plates... They were only able to work one table at a time. When we arrived, there was only one table being served and we literally waited until they were served and cleaned up before we were served. The plates were plastic and oily on the bottom and sides. The dining room was only about 200 ft.² and featured four flat screens with the volume cranked up displaying a 17 year old looped live DVD of Marc Anthony, Live at Madison Square Garden. We were told their most popular dishes were the ones that were not on the menu. Bad sign. The menu was also greasy and dirty not to mention very limited. It took forever to get our food which was bland, fatty, and not fresh tasting. The best thing we ordered was the ribs. If you absolutely must eat here, order a burger or the ribs... But don't expect the burger to be "mozzarella stuffed", even though that's what they say it is, because it isn't. The $25 grouper special (grouper, stuffed with lobster and rolled in almonds covered in coconut cream and vodka sauce) which was supposed to be so popular was unbelievably fishy and coated in sweetened coconut. It was like nightmarish macaroon. We decided to try the mofongo which was another local favorite and that turned out to be a bad idea too. It was incredibly bland and fatty and starchy and was like eating week old stove top stuffing mixed with flavorless banana. The Caesar salad, which should've been pretty easy to make happen tasted like they bought it at the Wendy's across the street earlier in the day and then served it to us for dinner. Saw the reviews here and decided to try the food. Glad my wife and I stopped by. This place is awesome. We each tried one of the daily specials. I had the coconut crusted lobster stuffed grouper with rice and beans. My wife had the filet-minion with shrimp and Greek rice. Both our meals were excellent and the service was beyond reproach. If you're hungry and looking for a great place to eat, put this place at the top of your list! You won't regret it! read more

Came to this restaurant again because we had a nice experience here one year ago, but our experience at this establishment was absolutely HORRIBLE this time around. Seriously, avoid this restaurant unless you enjoy wasting your time. It took 10 mins of us standing around to get seated, then we waited over 15 mins at our table until I finally stood up and asked for menus and who would be our server. We ended up waiting over ONE HOUR before we even received our appetizer. Mind you, the restaurant was not packed in the slightest and two other tables that were seated much later than us had already received their entrees. We had to physically approach our waitress and ask her for the status of our food, and her excuse was that "the other waiter and I have different personalities." We received our entrees and got refills on our waters after an hour and a half. The food was great until we realized our "pechuga empanada" entree was raw. I am writing this review from the restaurant as we are still here after 2 hours and 15 mins of horrible service. The owner came over to apologize and took the raw chicken entree off our bill but that surely does not make up for the terrible time my family and I had here.
