We were referred to Tristate Maintenance Group for restoration work after some water damage. They…read morewere kind enough to show up promptly to our home for an estimate, but told us it would take a week to receive it. Two weeks later, I had to follow up with Robert Philbeck, who then sent us an outrageous $8K quote. The scope of work was extremely simple: patch up some drywall and reset a cabinet. For comparison, multiple other contractors reviewed the same scope and estimated less than $2K for everything. What made the experience even more frustrating was the two-week delay, wasting valuable time only to receive an unreasonable proposal. Maybe they're better suited for larger commercial projects, but based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend them for residential work.

I want this to be a fair review because TSMG has great people and does quality work -- the…read morecompleted portions of our project were done with great craftsmanship. There was a communication issue mid-project that caused some confusion around budgeting, which made it hard for me to move forward confidently. Once escalated to Robert, his team helped clarify things and gave me a number I knew was correct. I believe if I had gone to Robert sooner, we would have finished the project by now and this would be a 5-star review. I'm confident that TSMG does not have this issue often, but it did happen to me, and once they realized that, they offered a gift card for my frustration. While I appreciated the gesture, at that moment I felt that it was not a reflection of the inconvenience I had experienced. In the end, they were helpful in closing out the project and processing a refund for the noncompleted work.

At first, I assumed it was one of my daughters transforming her dinner into a projectile, but it turned out to be something much more concerning--a leaking skylight. I called my friend that had recently told me how happy he was with some work he had done at his house on a water damaged bedroom. He recommended Intown Craftsman and I called them that very night. I received a response the next morning, a phone call from Russ Melton. He assured me a member of the team would arrive soon with an estimate and even invited me to call him personally if I didn't hear from the team soon. There was no need, I received an email and a call later that day. Russ showed up the next day and provided an estimate for the project. While I had him there, I showed him some other issues with the house that had been on my "to-fix list" and he provided an estimate for those projects as well. The cost was exactly what I expected, and I gave him the go ahead to schedule workers ASAP. They came within a few days, even though it was all happening around the Thanksgiving holiday. Jose and another roofer (sorry, I didn't catch his name) showed up early for the appointment but waited out front until the appointed time. They were courteous, kind (even to my very excited dog), and had the problem fixed in no time. They even installed additional flashing to the second skylight (which hadn't yet started leaking) just as a precaution, free of charge. The office staff were just as kind and professional as the roofers. I worked with Deb Burris who helped me with billing and scheduling. The interface for billing was simple, the contracts and estimates were clear and easy to understand, and she was very knowledgeable and responsive over texts, emails and calls. I will certainly be calling them again soon for those other household projects. I recommend using them if you have any home improvement or repair needs.

Be careful if you hire. They upcharged us twice after work got started (once for $1000 and once for…read more$1400) for items that were addressed on the estimate. They were also the most expensive out of three companies considered. In response to Intown's reply: We did pay $600 more to fix the hidden trim work. We didn't feel it was right to pay an additional $1,000 for that and other items addressed in the estimate. As for changing the scope of the project, the recommended paint did not perform as described by Intown. We could not see our way clear to pay an additional $1,400 on a $14,000 job. We used to be one of those 1,400 satisfied customers. Sorry we could not work this out.

However, I went with Accupro because they treated my projects with intent, care, and in a timely matter. Despite having an already full schedule, Kay and Ariana fit my projects in. They worked quickly and efficiently. We had all kinds of issues with supply ordering, material availability, all of which was out of our control. However, the main reason for this glowing review is that Accupro partnered with me to come up with great solutions to handle my projects quickly and all for very reasonable rates. During the projects there were other related issues with the previous construction work that were also handled quickly by the crew, no questions asked. This is the top notch service that we are missing now a days. I highly recommend working with this company for your next project. I know i will be using them again in the future!

We used Escex because of a friend who worked there at the time. We needed to replace our roof due…read moreto weather damage, so we thought we'd go all in and replace the siding as well because Escex assured us they did both. In all we spent more than $38,000. From the beginning of the project things went sideways. Our siding salesman promised hardiplank, installed a lesser product that wasn't even the same style. The salesman was fired, but we didn't get what we thought we were paying for. As for the roof, after it was installed, we had a leak that caused some water damage in bedroom, but it was fixed. Fast forward 4 years (we had roof/siding installed in May, 2021), we woke up a few weeks ago after a rainstorm to find water damage in the master bathroom, master bedroom and on the main floor in the kitchen. I called and asked Escex to come look for the leak. Mark Chapin, the roofing manager came out and told us that there was a 'dead spot' on the roof and that he would repair it but it wasn't covered under warranty. He would do the work himself for slightly under $600. I was skeptical, so therefore got another estimate from a well known roofer, who pointed out where they believed the leak came from and why. Below are current day pictures-4 years later. I asked about the quality of work, and the relationship to the leaks., sent emails and left voicemails for Escex Owner ADAM HUMPHREYS-he didn't return any of them. Mark told me he was limited in what he could do because the warranty expired? I wonder if this is the 'quality' Escex is so proud of and if they stand behind this type of workmanship and poor customer service?
