This was always my favorite go-to restaurant, but sadly today's meal was not good. Smoothie was fine, usual preparation. Wrap was inedible: problem is the food is made in the back by young teenagers who clearly needed supervision and additional training. The owner needs to get back in the kitchen with the teenagers and oversee operations to assure a quality product. Never was an issue with the original owners. This place has been a staple for my family and I for almost 30 years now. I'm so happy to see it still going strong. I think my mom has been getting the turkey club wrap since I was a little kid. And now I've gotten quite the addiction for it myself. One thing I can say with confidence is that you will always have fresh and healthy food Green Cuisine. I swear there has not been one time where the side of fruit hasn't been ripe and ready. The New England clam chowder has always been another staple for my family. It is some of the best I've ever had, one of the best at the shore. Another "must-get" is the fresh squeezed orange juice. You will not regret it! For years I have been wanting to give this a try, but it just didn't appeal. Decided to have lunch there as not much else open in April. The inside is well decorated with the green theme and clean. The hostess and server were friendly and made us feel very welcome. Portions are large and options are pricy, but it is the shore. I started with today's special NE clam chowder - it was very good. My wife had the ham and cheese croissant (pretty basic), which she requested warmed. She really enjoyed it and took half of it home. Most of the menu items have variations on standards with ingredients you would not normally expect. After much thought I decided on the chicken salad pita with a $2 upgrade to homemade potato salad. It was a big disappointment. The potato salad didn't have much flavor - very bland. A huge pita, but the chicken salad was dry without much flavor either, and the chicken meat seemed previously frozen. Green Cuisine has been my watering hole in Stone Harbor for years. As a vegan, I've found it tricky to get enough vegetables and protein while on vacation here, and the Garden of Eden salad (hold the cheese) and the Eggless Egg Salad (add avocado and a side of fruit) always hit the spot. The prices are a smidge higher than I'd prefer, but that's Stone Harbor for you. And to be fair, portions are pretty generous. Green Cuisine, I'm glad you're here. read more

My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch this weekend and we were so pleasantly surprised to find the food was absolutely amazing. Best I've had in a long time. Let me open up by saying that I hate cash only businesses. In this day and age you must be kidding me- but I've come here for years so I get it. The last couple times I've been here I've waited for quite a while to have a server approach the table or even acknowledge me. Things were no different this time. When our server did arrive she was pleasant enough and our food came out pretty fast. We ordered a shrimp pita and it was loaded with shrimp but was very heavy on the mayo. Fresh pineapple, blueberry and an orange came with it. I ordered the California sandwich on multi grain bread. It was delicious and had sprouts, avocado, peppers, mushrooms & sunflower seeds. It was delicious. I got 1 strawberry, blueberries, and a piece of orange. The quality of the food was great! So were the portions. The server did check back w us, so that was a plus. What didn't I like? *The server gave the check and never even offered dessert. *The girl at the register seemed miserable, didn't ask how anything was, nor thank me. No smile, no energy. You're young, you're pretty, what could be so bad in your life?! *Also my daughter has been trying now for four years to get a medium sized t shirt in a nice color with "Green Cuisine" and again they didn't stock mediums for the season. I just don't get why you wouldn't want to offer this to customers. Especially in the peak of the season. After my experience at Green Cuisine and reading the reviews, I don't think the owner, John, is understanding the areas of his business that require much improvement. I recommend, instead of running around like a chicken without a head, he should keep staff focused, and identify the immediate needs of the customer. Instead, he is not utilizing any management skills. Customer service: We were not greeted by server... in fact, we were told to take a table. Server did not provide menus until I had to wave her down... after placing our order, I asked specifically for certain side (dressing for my salad) when the food came... no dressing and had to wait, again, until I had to wave the server down... really can't eat salad without some dressing. Oh, and had to get up and ask the server for utensils. When I did get the dressing, it tasted awful. I was so frustrated and loosing my patience. I returned my WAY OVER priced salad! John apologized profusely but I felt it was an "act" to coverup the inefficiency of his business. I thought he was rude when two customers came in at 7:55pm and told them that the restaurant is closed! The customers stated that it was before 8pm. Turning customers away. So, in short, the service stinks, the food was nothing special and wayyyy overpriced! Being in business for this long, they have not excelled even a niche business. The atmosphere is sandwiched shop at best but doesn't warrant the prices on the menu. Two shrimp cocktails, chicken sandwich and shrimp salad... $96...no thanks to a second chance. My friend brought me and my sisters to the Green Cuisine years ago for healthier food down the shore. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease 3 years ago and remembered the Green Cuisine has gluten free food options on their menu. The gluten free wrap is the best I've ever had. Both were drenched in mandarin oranges and the juice. The salmon was cold, sliced (?), looked like chicken and was inedible. We asked for feta on both and neither salad had any cheese on it. But we were charged for all the extras anyway. The chicken sandwich was tiny and had no taste. $120 for 4 salads and a sandwich. SO disappointed in Green Cuisine. The quiches are always delicious and the smoothies are outstanding, especially the health nut John the owner he is a great guy. He takes his time in getting to know his customers. My boyfriend took me here on a surprise lunch date--free food never hurts, right? The interior is very charming, with green leaves painted on the walls. The prices were great. The reason this place gets 4 stars, instead of 5 stars, is due to an odd service mix-up. We wanted regular table service but the hostess directed us to the counter to order. We assumed this was customary practice. However, when no one appeared at our table, and we waited for quite some time, we realized we had been sent to the take-out counter and the servers were waiting for us to come get our food. Why would they assume take-out, and why would they fail to let us know the food was ready either way? Regardless, I would probably come here again if I was looking for a light lunch or dinner.
