I have been seeing Dr. Green for years. He has helped with several different issues - neck/shoulder pain, SI joint issues and plantar fasciitis. Last week something new happened. While mopping the floor, I bent down to get under the sofa. All of the sudden I felt a twinge in my low back. I couldn't stand up straight and I could barely walk. I made it to the car and drove straight to the clinic. The staff was able to work me into the schedule quickly. I saw Dr. Green and he was able to improve my mobility right away. I have known Dr. Green for probably 15+ years, as my son's superb English teacher many years ago, a cool bass player, and now, I have had the pleasure to be treated by him as a patient. Doc Green is FANTASTIC. This dude is really knowledgeable about his field and health in general. He sends weekly emails (if you sign up for them) about all manner of health related issues that are researched and backed up with supporting evidence. I went to Green Chiropractic today for a crick in my neck. I had very little range of motion and a lot of pain. I was having difficulty getting into to see someone right away but Dr. Green's office was able to get me in when it was conveinent for me, same day. I had a very pleasant visit fromt the moment I walked through the door. Not only was his receptionist very sweet and helpful, but also informative. Dr. Green is a really nice and knowledgable professional. He took the time to learn what my symptoms were and to access the situation and then to explain to me at lenght the issue and how to remedy it. I've been going to him since last year for an injury that was nagging and extremely painful. I thought I was done for since it was a serious one, which would have affected my ability to work. However, I went to Dr. Green from the recommendation of my friends and as a recommendation from my Physical Therapists (DPT). Basically I needed to do a shotgun approach of doing various rehabilitation modalities so I can get better faster. First meeting him was scary at first just because I didn't know him and I've had mixed stories from my friends/family in neurology/cardiology, but after talking with him on my assessment session, he gave me hope. That's what I needed. It was a long and exhausting process since I literally had to keep up with all of my various appointments and make the drive to Dr. Green's office. But it was worth it. It's been more than a year now since my injury and it had improved greatly. The work isn't done yet at my end since I still need to get stronger, but when my joints lock up for various reasons, I can count on Dr. Green to help me. For today's session, I had been dealing with this pain for 8 days (I don't recall doing anything to exacerbate it at all!). It was so painful I couldn't turn my head or drive long distances (the sharp pain radiated to my left arm and neck; no numbness or tingling). Basically, from what I've been told it happens randomly and the muscles end up trying to protect the joint --- but it goes overboard and does more harm. Dr. Green assessed it correctly since I knew it wasn't anything cervical spine related. It was one of my ribs! I was impressed! (To quote a famous phrase) Cash me ousside! How bow dah!? As a fellow clinician, having accurate diagnoses is helpful and gives me a big sigh of relief. Now the important part for any treatments: follow-ups. I highly suggest going through with follow-up treatments even if you feel better. Why? Because the body requires follow-ups for injuries related to the musculoskeletal system. For today's session, he gave me such robust education that although the rib joint itself was finally mobilized after so many days of being unable to move (thereby causing severe pain and neck immobility - and affecting my ability to work well), the muscles will take time to relax and I need to be aware if it does not relax later in the day. So I will be doing my follow-up session in 2-days just in case my muscles are causing my joint to lock up again. In the mean time, I have to continue doing my physical therapy exercises and keep moving --- even light exercises are good for the body! Overall, Dr. Green is a fantastic practitioner. The education I receive and the treatments are worth the drive! I also enjoy his holistic approach to managing my pain since I have been taking pain meds for more than a year and I am getting worried on the long term affects it would do to my liver and kidneys... (that's another topic beyond this review --- that topic is for MedScape or other literature with the help of one of my clinical pharmacist colleagues). I also admire that he is well-read and that he encourages me to keep moving and doing active things despite not feeling up to it, and he encourages me to eat well and care for my body. Why? Dr. Green has changed my world. I got rear-ended and had a nagging pain that persisted. Aches, pains, head-aches and so on. He put me on a schedule that has really helped. Very happy that my neck feels better than it has in eleven years after three sessions. Dr. Green is smart and practical and I appreciate his simple approach. I will continue seeing him for alignment maintenance about once every month or 6 weeks so that I don't get so stuck again. I have occasional issues with my sacro-iliac joint, and this flare up had me disabled. I wasn't able to go to work, had trouble getting out of bed and getting dressed. My pain was severe. I found Dr. Greene on yelp and he is just north of where I live and close to my office, so it was a win-win. I was having serious muscle tightness in my neck and had severe headaches for 6 weeks. (I never previously suffered from headaches or migraines). So I decided I needed a little tune-up. I made an appt to see Dr.Greene, my insurance covers chiropractic visits which is a plus. We talked about my concerns and I happen to mention I also had plantar fasciitis. Well he adjusted my neck and upper and lower back. Then he pulled out these tools and told me he can improve my foot pain. Well, I thought, its worth a try. Ive had it for 3 years and I can hardly wear heels or flats. I've done two visits and my plantar fasciitis is not 100% gone but it feels like 95%. I was able to buy new high heeled boots for the winter and actually wear them!!!!! Highly recommend Dr. Greene, he knows what he's doing. Also as a side note: I have seen a podiatrist for the same issue and was given a cortisone shot and orthotics, however the pain has been there for 3 years. Visited Dr. Green for the first time a year or so ago for a recurring hip issue, along with the occasional back and neck pain that comes with stress, sleeping wrong, etc. Really impressed with his overall knowledge and style of treatment. He does not do the typical chiro scenario of bringing you back x number of times for x number of weeks unless he really feels it's necessary, which tells me he is not just after the money. His strategy is to show his patients how to help themselves through exercise and stretching in most cases. These things tell me he is genuinely concerned about the well-being of his patients.
