Events like Legos, Artists' Guild, Tarot Share, Aromatherapy workshops, musical presentations, fiddle jam, author presentations, and more provide something for everyone, regardless of your interests. The WiFi is great and there is meeting space available if you register in advance. They also sponsor Universal Class online, which includes hundreds of free classes across nearly every hobby interest you can think of. Highly recommend!

This one is located in a small little park located in the downtown area. This one is set up well for it to work out that if you come during a nice day you may be able to grab your new book to read and enjoy sitting at a table or in the grass. I suspect due to location this would mean lots of people swapping books. During our visit it was decently full, nothing that caught my attention enough to grab a book. My wife didn't end up grabbing any either. If you enjoy the author Malcom Gladwell they had three different books by him. They had some cooking books, small amount of kids books, autobiographies, older romance books, and others. Was in an easy to access/come across location with a decent amount of books.

The library is a museum!!! It's so beautiful inside and out! And if you're just visiting the area I would suggest stopping by and exploring the library to see the beautiful history that is inside! It is located close to Fort Drum, about 15 minutes or so depending on traffic. There is a parking lot in the back that has accessible parking and along the side of the library are wheelchair accessible entrances.

I was also sexually harassed by a tenured professor. Though I was not the only one, I was singular in reporting it to the school. As Darren mentioned, this place is super helpful for Algonquin Students, which was why I ended up there in the first place - but not for the reason you might think! I needed to find a location for a photography assignment and my professor suggested Ben Franklin Place. "Really? A library?" was my first thought. Never doubt your photography teacher. This place is beautiful - a little oasis in the heart of Nepean. The building itself is beautiful, but the landscaping is fantastic (yes, I'll get to the books, I promise). There's a huge fountain that's turned into a skating rink in the winter, a lovely garden with beautiful flowers and plants and a shaded seating area. This first time I didn't even make it inside! I now visit this library every Saturday where I tutor a six year-old. Their children's section is outstanding - sweet librarians like you read about in books, a massive selection of books and crayons and colouring pages to keep little ones busy. The library also offers a ton of services for job seekers, new Canadians and those interested in learning about computers. The book selection is fantastic, and I love that you can rent e-books online. If you're looking for a quiet spot to study, a playgroup for the little ones or a place to learn something new be sure to drop by.
