I love visiting this library! The building itself is 3 stories. The library is located on the first floor and in the basement. The top floor has meeting rooms that can be utilized. The library is a museum!!! It's so beautiful inside and out! And if you're just visiting the area I would suggest stopping by and exploring the library to see the beautiful history that is inside! It is located close to Fort Drum, about 15 minutes or so depending on traffic. There is a parking lot in the back that has accessible parking and along the side of the library are wheelchair accessible entrances. read more

Basically there is a dearth of cultural activity in Watertown,New York.However,the Flower Memorial Library is a feather in Watertown's cap.I appreciated its fine outdoor and interior architecture featuring beautiful white marble and an awesome white marble bust of former New York Governor,Roswell Flowers by Augustus St. Gaudens.Its rotunda has a magnificent Oculus and Dome Mural depicting History,Romance,Religion,Science,Drama,and Poetry.This library also had a small collection of quality oil paintings in its rooms.I especially liked French painter,Paul Delaroche's"Napoleon",Alson Clark's"Luxembourg Gardens",and F.K. Rehn's"Moonlight on the Ocean". read more

Great place! Especially if you are look to get your teen into reading. There is a specific room just for teens to read in with computers you have to be at least 12 to get in and you can't be over 18 it's really great. There is a reading hour for little kids I used to go to when I was little which is follow by a small craft. There is tons of shelves for adults as well. read more

This library has a huge collection of reading materials, but not everyone goes to libraries to just read. I was looking for a study lounge or a quiet area to get some studying done and usually library's accommodate that environment pretty well. I was a bit disappointed with this library's study environment where it seems the only quiet area to sit down and get some work done is a small area upstairs. It would be nice to have small study lounges or multiple small tables set up for insidiously study. The building is a historic town monument, dating back many years giving it a beautiful interior design and decor. It's quite the work of art, but the downfall of such a old building is having old wooden floors that makes noise every time someone takes a step, which can start to get real distracting if there are multiple people walking around. Also due to lack of secluded study areas, you can hear everything and anything that goes around in the whole library, which also serves as distraction. read more
