The numbers are mind boggling. The record of safe and reliable service is unbelievable and those that fill this space with negative opinions really have no idea of the complexity that is the USPS. This library is quiet and does have a few cozy corners and such but it's not very large and sound does carry. Stacks of books, DVDs and other materials. Friendly librarians who seem very willing to help. There is plaque near the front entrance, "The central part of this building was originally the Rosseel Mansion afterward converted into the summer residence of George C. Clark of New York City. In the year 1895 it became the Ogdensburg Public Library through the generosity of Mr. Clark and the contributions of public-spirited citizens." The Seaway Skyway Bridge is not far from downtown and carries road traffic between the two nations (but it's not easily accessible for photographs from the New York side). On the grounds of the Ogdensburg City Hall, this marker is part of the "National Votes for Women…read moreTrail." The marker reads, "Marion S. Frank. Led City of Ogdensburg suffrage fight, 1914-1917. As mayor, husband Julius supported suffrage for New York State women, 1917." Mrs. Frank's efforts were crucial in advocating for women's right to vote in New York State.
