Located off Olive Dr, the Green Bicycle Depot is a small budget bike shop that sells used bikes and services bikes. I came here to have the derailleur adjusted because the chain on a new bike I bought for my son keeps coming off when shifting. One quick look the guy (can't remember his name, but is a Filipino guy) at the shop noticed the chain was too long and needed to be cut. I believe that was $5 to do and then the to adjust the derailleur, it was going to cost $30 ($35 total). He said to leave the bike there and he will call later when it is completed. I decided to go grab some lunch while I waited for the bike to be completed. He called a couple hours later and said the bike was done and ready to be picked up. When I arrived he said the chain was bent in a spot, so those were the links he removed. He also said one of the adjustments on the derailleur was broken as the derailleur that came with the bike was cheap. He also made a few other adjustment to the bike for free which was greatly appreciated. The hubs and I were looking for a single speed fixie type looking bike and for the life of us were not able to find one. There were online options, but I wanted to try it before I made a commitment. Plus any thing on line was over $500. Now that we're in season 3 of Covid: Omicron, the next level; I called around several bike stores and landed at Green Bicycle Depot. They were the only shop that carried the type of bike I was looking for and had our sizes. Rey greeted us upon arrival. We let him know that we called and wanted to see the size 52 and 48. The 52 was fully assembled and only $350!!! The 48 was the same price, but I had to come back bc he still needed to assemble the bike. We walked out of the shop and spend less than $800 for the bikes. I think that was a steal considering we've been looking for a while and factored and prepared to pay over $500 for each bike. The bike spot is confusing. When I asked about the older looking bikes and whether they were on sale, I received a very vague answer. the guy who works here is dishonest and will try to rip you off. I brought in an old bike and he said the tire was bent and inner tubes needed to be changed. I asked how much and he said $100+. Then I took the same bike to kens bike and ski and they helped pumped the bike a bit for free and adjusted the tires a bit and then it worked fine. Fair pricing and good reliable service. We actually took our bikes up here from the Bay Area. No appointment needed but come before 12pm if you want your bike back the same day. We came a little late but they guys prioritized our bikes and got it back to us before closing which we were thankful for. We got our bikes tuned up for about $40-50. New tires put on my bike and my fiancé opted for mountain bike tires to replace his hybrids. They even checked the tubes and one of mine was still good to use so he didn't charge for a new one. I appreciate their honesty. Could be 5 stars if they could provide better upfront pricing but it is a little difficult because they don't really know what they'll find wrong until they start to work on the bikes. Their receipt has line by line cost but not itemized on what was done. If their point of sale system could do that it would be helpful. A+ Friendly Service! I brought in an older road bike because the brakes needed some fixing and the back wheel was crooked. It was my friend's old bike that she gave to me, but she had gotten into a bad accident on it and so it seems the back wheel was more messed up then I had thought. They were able to identify the problem and give an itemized list right away! I think the price quoted was very fair. I purchased a bike here around 6 months ago. I was new to cycling and trusted staff here to point me in the direction of a quality road bike. I just went in for a tune up at another bike shop because my PEDAL fell off while riding in the middle of an intersection and I'd been having issue shifting gears as well. Come to find out my wheels are MISMATCHED and I have a 10 speed bike with 9 speed gears and chain. A real bike shop would have been able to catch how shoddily put together the bike was, IF they hadn't fixed it themselves. I should have learned my lesson when I returned my first bike here. Bad reputation!!! Gave them the key for my electric bike but when I picked it up they have no idea where they keep it. Pay $120 to change the pad for the brake but they say I only pay them to change the pad not to adjust it. So I must pay them more to adjust the brake. Is this some kind of blackmail organization??? Wonderful service. Went during COVID for 3 bikes needing brakes tune ups. Staffed masked. Prices reasonable (pretty much same as other places), helped me load and unload the bikes. Brought my single speed here. My front tire was stolen roughly a year ago. So I just left my bike outside locked up. Decided today finally get it fixed so I can ride around again. I honestly can't say enough good things. My bike's back tire received a punctured hole by someone/thing while I was studying yesterday and I can't get anywhere without my bike! Green Bicycle Depot came to my rescue. They're located nearby Dutch Bros on Olive Dr in the corner, not too hard to miss. The workers were so friendly and efficient in fixing the tires, not to mention I bought my bike used and the previous owner had assembled the front wheel and handle backwards (I never got around to fixing it). The left hand brake for the back wheel has also been broken since I had my bike. Needless to say, not in the best condition going in, but was all fixed up when leaving. The service took about 10-15 mins, I haven't even finished my in n out take out before they were done haha. It was super cheap too (tires were $10 but my total was $30). Go here and you will not be disappointed! I have to say, my bike feels so weird with the wheels and handle adjusted to how it's supposed to be but I'm happy that it's finally normal! read more

It's really hard to beat their repair and tune up prices when you compare it to the more boutique bike shops in Davis. Quality is the same too. Took in the bike for a puncture (actually we did not know what caused the tire to fall off the rim). The young gentleman (forgot to ask his name) immediately identified the problem and told us to leave the name and phone number . After I told him that we were in a hurry, he said he could start fixing it right away. In 10-15 minutes, he removed the tube, found the staple that punctured the tire and tube, inserted a new tube, and put everything back together. The price they charged was not much more than getting the tube from Walmart. I will definitely go back for future needs because of the friendly staff and reasonable price. read more

Ever since I got a new bike from Walmart after an accident, I've encountered problem after problem... I get what I paid for ($80). I had to get so many things replaced, get lights, a new seat and a fender too. This place was able to fix everything for around 100 bucks, including products and labor. I really should've come here in the first place to look for a used bike, it'd probably be in better condition than a cheap one. My tires always get a flat, but I can count on swinging by here and getting my tubes fix ($10) or just to get some air before heading to work/school. The 2 guys that work that are super friendly and very quick with their services. I kept forgetting who is who but I always see one of them biking to work in the morning and he always waves as I pass by. Small family business working out of a garage- you can tell they are very hard workers. Cheapest prices I've found in Davis. I gladly paid $15 (that's with tip) for a tube, labor, air, and a seat adjustment after I had abandoned it for three months. One of the best places in Davis for the price and service! I showed up on a Monday afternoon, and was promptly helped for a flat tire. It was 5 dollars for the tube, and 5 dollars for the labor - simple and incredibly cheap prices. If you go to the bike shops downtown, labor alone will cost you 30 dollars (Those fancy 3000 dollar road bike boutiques) to give scale. The only problem would probably be location, it is located a fair distance down the arboretum near the Dutch bros/red rum which could be problematic if you get a flat on campus. Service was quick and friendly! Definitely recommend if you can get over there. One of the only places in Davis that I found that rents out beach cruisers and it's only $10 for the whole day! You have to pay extra for a lock (not sure how much that is).
