I always choose Fair Trade or Organic when given a choice. This goes for my personal shopping as well as dining. I catch the bus from Wynyard quite often and have been eyeing off the Green Bean but usually rushing for my bus. Today I was early so decided to try their coffee.
The cafe was packed as always, and I can see why as the menu has some tasty-looking offerings, but I was here with caffeine on my mind. I was standing at the counter waiting to be served when a waitress literally barged in front of me, completely ignoring me and started entering things onto her PoS screen. She was one step short of elbowing me out of her way! The other staff were really really nice, and when the barista went to hand me my coffee the rude waitress was still between me and the barista, blocking me from the coffee she was trying to hand me, but just stood there and didn't pass it to me! I was quite shocked, but she gave me a nice smile on the way out so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she is just extremely ignorant and not deliberately rude.
My coffee was lukewarm and weak- disappointing. But the triple choc brownie I got to go with it was divine. My Green Bean experience was a rollercoaster of emotions! read more
